Chapter 280: The Shock Five Elders
World Government Headquarters.
The Five Elders, the highest authorities in the World Government, gathered together. They called it the greatest war of the century, but the outcome far exceeded their expectations.
No one could have imagined that not only did the Whitebeard Pirates lose all 47 of their ships, but even Shanks, who came to stop the war at Marineford, died tragically at the hands of a marine officer named Solo.
And not just that…
Solo, this marine officer, beheaded Whitebeard, Ace, Blackbeard, and the escaped criminals from Level 6 of Impel Down. This news shocked the five elders to their cores.
If it weren’t for the entire world being in an uproar due to this incident, and if Admiral Sengoku hadn’t repeatedly confirmed the truth of it, they wouldn’t have believed it even in their wildest dreams. To think that such a monster was born within the ranks of the Marine Headquarters.
To verify the information on Solo, the five elders spared no effort. They gathered all available information on Solo. However, when they saw Solo’s profile, they were once again shocked to the extreme.
Solo is still in his twenties today, and he joined the marine ten years ago. Back then, his strength was weak, and he was unknown in Loguetown.
It wasn’t until the appearance of Monkey D. Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, that Solo’s ordinary life changed.
But these Five Eders are not ordinary people. Each of them possesses great strength and intelligence, being the best minds in the sea.
“This marine officer named Solo must have been hiding his true strength from the beginning.”
Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro spoke slowly and slammed Solo’s information on the table. He couldn’t believe that someone could make such leaps in strength in such a short period.
This marine officer named Solo must have been incredibly powerful from the very beginning, just that he had never revealed it.
“According to the data, it’s not just Whitebeard, the legendary figure. Even the Golden Lion Shiki was buried in Loguetown under Solo’s watch. Although the reports attribute it to Perona’s ability, how could someone like the Golden Lion be taken down so easily?” Shepherd Ju Peter said without hesitation.
To this day, he still remembers how terrifying the Golden Lion was. He single-handedly threatened the entire Marine Headquarters in the past.
If it weren’t for Garp and Sengoku being present at Marineford at that time, the consequences might have been unimaginable. Moreover, Shiki was the first person to escape from Impel Down in the past 800 years.
Although… Luffy and Blackbeard have also accomplished similar feats, collective escape is different from individual escape. Undoubtedly, Shiki was even more terrifying.
Based on these factors, the blonde-haired elder believes it’s highly likely that the Golden Lion also died at Solo’s hands.
“Golden Lion Shiki, Whitebeard, and Shanks were all pirates who could reach the level of the Four Emperors,” Another elder interjected.
In his opinion, the reason why Shiki didn’t become one of the Four Emperors was because he disappeared from the seas for decades. Otherwise, with his strength and reputation, he could have easily contended with Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom.
Even Shanks might not have had a chance to become one of the Four Emperors. From this perspective, Solo eliminating these three candidates for the Four Emperors is truly impressive.
“And judging by this marine officer’s actions, he may become another Garp. “In any case, we must closely observe his actions. As for Kaido and Big Mom, let’s not let him handle them,” Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro spoke again.
For some reason, he had a strong feeling that if Solo were to face Kaido, he probably wouldn’t lose. He might even be capable of defeating all Four Emperors.
But then again, if there are no Four Emperors in the New World, the delicate balance will undoubtedly be disrupted. Will such a situation truly benefit the World Government?
Intense discussions ensued among the five elders. They all believed that Solo is the most terrifying marine officer they have ever seen in their lifetimes.
Even Garp, Sengoku, and Zephyr pale in comparison to Solo. They decided to closely monitor Solo’s progress. Meanwhile, Solo remained completely oblivious to the Five Elders’ discussion.
After the war at Marineford, he naturally stayed at the Marine Headquarters. Not because he wanted to, but because Sengoku had requested him to stay, possibly related to his promotion.
These days, Solo had become a star within the Marine Headquarters. Wherever he went, he was greeted with admiration by fellow marines. Some even sought his autograph.
It’s no exaggeration to say that Solo has become a genuine hero of the Marines. The greatest hero of the war. Both official and private newspapers were extensively covering this matter, spreading his name to every corner of the sea.
But today, Solo’s peaceful life was interrupted.
Boom.
A knock sounded at Solo’s door.
“Come in,” Solo replied in a low voice.
The visitor was none other than Pocato, Garp’s former confidant.
“Captain Solo, Fleet Admiral Sengoku asked me to fetch you. It seems something important has come up, and he wants you to come over,” Bogard said with a smile.
Logically speaking, they are both Captains at the headquarters, so their positions are on the same level. Moreover, Bogard has more experience than Solo. But now, he humbly stood before Solo, as if he were Solo’s subordinate.
“I understand,” Solo nodded calmly, unsurprised by the situation.
The war had ended, and it was natural to establish a clear hierarchy. Especially considering his performance in the war, he couldn’t remain just a mere Captain.
So, Solo adjusted his appearance slightly and followed Bogard. They headed towards Sengoku’s office together.
After a while, they arrived at the door of the Warring States’ office. Bogard gently knocked, and upon receiving permission from Sengoku, he pushed the door open.
“Fleet Admiral Sengoku, Solo is here,” Bogard announced.
Hearing this, Sengoku temporarily put aside his work and glanced towards the door. Bogard nodded, indicating that he understood, and left the office. Bogard wasn’t surprised by this arrangement, willingly giving up his position so that Solo could enter freely.
“Fleet Admiral Sengoku,” Solo’s lips curled up, forming a slight smile.
The two locked eyes, sizing each other up.
“Please have a seat, Solo,” Sengoku took a deep breath, inviting Solo to sit down before speaking.
This level of treatment was only reserved for the greatest hero of the war!
