One Piece Devouring Fruit - Chapter 52
A prince who had been lost and had no real feelings for his country now stood at the forefront, helping his people and almost single-handedly leading them to victory in the war against the pirates. It was no wonder they were so moved.
Of course, this was mainly due to Michion’s aura abilities, which were incredibly suited for group combat. His powers shone even brighter in small-scale battles like these.
After this battle, Michion’s reputation among the people would soar dramatically.
“Michion, your new ability is so cool! Those semi-transparent weapons you summoned wiped out the pirates instantly!” exclaimed Berry Good, one of his companions, as they celebrated their victory in the palace dining hall, devouring food to replenish their energy.
Everyone was captivated by Michion’s display of power during the battle.
“If only we could develop our abilities as well as you, Michion. Your skill in developing Devil Fruit powers is amazing,” sighed Sean.
Tina and Sora, sitting nearby, looked at Michion with hopeful eyes.
“Michion, you’re so talented. Could you give us some advice on developing our Devil Fruit abilities?” Tina asked, and everyone else eagerly looked at Michion, eyes gleaming with anticipation.
“Alright, I can give you some suggestions, but ultimately, it’s up to you to put in the effort and see how far you can develop your abilities,” Michion replied after some thought.
“Don’t worry, we understand,” everyone assured him, confident and determined.
Michion first turned to Sean. “Sean, your Rust-Rust Fruit is quite powerful. It’s not just for rusting weapons; you can also try to corrode the human body.”
He explained that iron is about 70% present in human blood, and Sean could consult the biologists of Ishtar for more details. Imagine if he could corrode blood—how terrifying that would be for his enemies.
Everything erodes over time, even the human body. Sean needed to focus on deepening the corrosive effect of his power. Even if Armament Haki could defend against it, the corrosion should still drain the opponent’s Haki faster.
Next, he turned to Berry Good. “You have a unique Paramecia-type Bean-Bean Fruit. Your ability allows you to transform your body into spherical pellets. You could make these pellets smaller to make it harder for enemies to hit you.”
Michion suggested Berry Good could transform the pellets into sharp, conical projectiles. Combined with spinning, acceleration, and techniques like Shigan (Finger Gun), he could significantly enhance his attack power.
Berry Good’s ability also made him resistant to slashing attacks. Like Buggy the Clown, he could develop a high resistance to such attacks.
Taking a bite of steak and a sip of orange juice, Michion continued, “And then there’s Sharingle. Your Wheel-Wheel Fruit…”
“For Sharingle, your focus should be on increasing your spinning speed. High-speed rotation can generate enormous damage. When an object moves fast enough through the air, it creates friction heat, and at a certain temperature, it can ignite.”
Michion referenced Luffy’s Red Hawk technique and suggested that Sharingle could use spinning to fly.
“Flying?” Sharingle’s eyes lit up. The idea of flying was more appealing than anything else.
“Yes,” Michion confirmed. “For example, you could create propellers with your head, feet, or hands. This would be a significant advantage in reconnaissance since few enemies can fly.”
If Sharingle could carry some weight, he could take someone on his back. Aerial combatants with a flying advantage were always more challenging to deal with.
Michion’s inspiration for Sharingle’s development came from Buffalo of the Donquixote family, but anyone familiar with helicopters could quickly think of this ability.
“What about me?” Sora eagerly asked, shaking Michion’s arm.
“You?” Michion looked at Sora’s expectant eyes and couldn’t deny her. Though Zoan-types primarily enhanced physical abilities through body training, he thought of something.
“Sora, you’re a Zoan-type, known for enhancing personal physical attributes. Typically, you just need to improve your physical techniques, but there’s an advantage in the Marines.”
“What is it?” Knowing that Zoan-types mainly required systematic training, Sora was curious about Michion’s take.
“Combining the Rokushiki techniques with your Zoan abilities will naturally enhance your power. However, I think you should master the Life Return technique.”
“Why? Isn’t Life Return an optional skill not included in the core Rokushiki techniques?” Tina interjected, clearly interested.
“You’re familiar with the Impel Down, right? The jailer beasts on the fourth level are awakened Zoan-types,” Michion explained.
“Ah! No way! Those jailer beasts are awakened? Does that mean I’ll turn into a mindless beast if I awaken?” Sora clutched her head, horrified.
As elites of the Marines, they knew about Zoan awakenings, but they didn’t expect the jailer beasts to be examples of that.
“The jailer beasts are failed awakenings. They have great recovery abilities but lost their intellect, so don’t worry,” Michion reassured the distraught Sora with a smile.
“Michion, are you saying that Life Return can help me achieve a successful awakening?” Sora asked, her spirits lifting.
Michion mused, “If I didn’t know Sora had the Tiger-Tiger Fruit, I would think she ate the Dog-Dog Fruit, given her energetic personality.”
One moment, she was downcast; the next, she was exuberant—a trait similar to that of a playful dog.
