One Piece Dragon King - Chapter 2
Hals discovered something.
He could control the forces of nature.
For example, Hals could control water currents, shape sand into various forms, manipulate wind, gather light, and collect shadows.
Moreover, despite having Devil Fruit powers, he could swim happily in the sea and even breathe underwater like a fish-man.
“I’m really quite amazing.”
Hals showed a somewhat philosophical smile.
“Attribute panel, come out.”
A golden attribute panel appeared in front of Hals. It was very simple, without too many flashy elements.
Just a few words.
Body: 10
Soul: 10
Blood: Magic Dragon (Can master all magic) [Dragon’s Meditation Technique·Basic] [Dragon’s Body Refinement Technique·Basic]
Negative Emotion Points: 0
It seemed impossible to gain points from himself.
Let’s go find some food first.
Hals walked along the beach for a while and arrived at a stranded large ship, the same one he had been on earlier.
After walking around for a while, Hals found some food that hadn’t spoiled: some meat, vegetables, bread, and flour.
Hals took some meat and vegetables. He had been a homebody before, capable of cooking. Though not a master chef, his cooking was definitely better than future Pirate King Luffy’s. The spices in the world of One Piece were similar to those on Earth, so Hals quickly made a meal.
The taste was okay, though he didn’t recognize many of the spices. But it didn’t matter; he was good to go as long as he knew salt, oil, soy sauce, and vinegar.
Hals needed to think carefully about facing the future and how to live.
First, he was still in the East Blue. It was unlikely that a shipwreck in the East Blue would transport him to another sea. The East Blue wasn’t a place ruled by powerful enemies. What villains had appeared in the East Blue?
Hals thought.
If we only consider those defeated by Luffy, we start with the Sea King near Windmill Village, but this isn’t Windmill Village, so that’s irrelevant.
Alvida wasn’t a tough opponent; she could be ignored.
Next was Captain Morgan, who had once struck Vice Admiral Garp with an axe. But Morgan wasn’t here either.
Then came Buggy the Clown, who could also be ignored. Aside from his strong Buggy Balls, his abilities weren’t a threat. Hals could easily deal with Buggy’s Chop-Chop Fruit with a punch or by dousing him with seawater to disable his powers.
Next was Kuro of a Hundred Plans, but it was unlikely to encounter him now. By this time, the Pirate King had been dead for many years, and it was around 1510 in the timeline. Luffy would be about seven years old, and Kuro should still be at Kaya’s mansion.
(Though Kuro might not have reached Kaya yet.)
It was best to avoid Don Krieg. Krieg had powerful equipment and used poison, making him extremely dangerous.
Then there was Arlong and his Fish-Man Pirates. They were currently terrorizing Nami so that they wouldn’t be a threat here.
Smoker wouldn’t fight Hals, being a genuinely righteous Marine.
Of course, other pirates existed in this Great Pirate Era, so caution was necessary. But there wouldn’t be as many Haki users as in the New World or the intense battles of the first half of the Grand Line. The East Blue was the weakest sea, so avoiding the strong enemies mentioned above would ensure survival.
Hals judged this.
But it wasn’t absolute.
His body stat of 10 meant his physical strength was impressive. Each point equated to 10 power units, making him stronger than ten regular marines.
Maybe even more.
Not bad, not bad.
His soul stat of 10 reflected his mental power, related to physical and spiritual strength.
This mental power allowed Hals to control natural elements but not man-made objects.
For example, plastic.
That was impossible.
Hals could make sturdy stone spikes from the ground, but he could easily break them with a punch.
Hals had tried; don’t ask how he knew, his fists hurt.
Hals searched the ship and found a long sword. It wasn’t a great weapon, not even a low-grade Wazamono sword.
Hals didn’t know how to use it well but held it for reassurance.
The long sword resembled a Japanese katana in shape.
Hals didn’t think much; as long as it worked, it was fine.
The long sword was of good quality. Hals used it to cut down a big tree with a single stroke, though it left a small notch in the blade.
Hals felt a bit distressed.
If it were a Wazamono, it wouldn’t be so weak.
This long sword wasn’t necessarily his primary weapon; he preferred the feeling of hand-to-hand combat.
Holding the long sword and its sheath, Hals walked towards the island’s forest.
I, Lord Hals, am going hunting.
He might have lived on this island for a while and needed a reliable food source. The ship’s supplies wouldn’t suffice.
Additionally, Hals wanted to experiment with gaining Negative Emotion Points.
He couldn’t generate them himself but might get them from others. He wasn’t sure if animals would work.
If he could gather enough Negative Emotion Points from animals, he could become strong before others found him. Otherwise, he would have to rely on training himself.
Those who came to this island might include both Marines and pirates.
I, Lord Hals, shall become strong.
I, Lord Hals, request recommendation tickets. Thank you.
Thump, thump, thump.
Kneeling and banging my head on the ground, making a thumping sound.
