One Piece Dragon King - Chapter 25
Ace decided to have a fight with Hals.
Hals agreed.
Sabo and Luffy watched from the sidelines.
They stood outside the bandit’s hideout.
“I won’t use my abilities. That wouldn’t be fair.”
“Okay.”
Ace smiled, then took out a pipe: “But can I use this?”
After all, it was a familiar weapon.
Hals didn’t mind. It was just a pipe.
“Let’s start.”
Hals nodded.
“Wait, Hals doesn’t have a weapon. This isn’t fair to him,” Luffy protested.
Ace gave Luffy a surprised look, thinking, you little traitor.
“No, I’m not good with weapons. Using one would actually decrease my combat effectiveness, so I don’t want my fists to be restricted by other weapons,” Hals replied, clenching his fists.
Ace gave Hals a serious look.
Hals, you are a true man.
But even so, I won’t go easy on you.
“Then, let’s begin.”
Ace swung the pipe a few times, making quite a show of it.
When Ace fought others, he didn’t use weapons. He used one against Hals because Hals, after meditating once, got a bit bored and went out for a walk.
He walked quite far but still remembered the way back.
Hals had knocked out a tiger with just a glance.
That tiger was the king of the forest.
Ace had witnessed this while he was playing with Luffy and the others and had gone to relieve himself.
Hals, you are powerful. Powerful enough to knock out the king of the forest with just a look. But I am not weakling either. I will grow stronger too.
Hals didn’t think much about it. He had just been bored and tapped into his bloodline, and suddenly a few things popped up.
Dragon Body 0% (Unattainable)
Dragon Might 0%
Eternal Immortality 0% (Unattainable)
The first one, he didn’t know what it was. The second one seemed similar to Conqueror’s Haki. The third might involve immortality, or eternal youth, or both.
Dragon Might was usable.
Hals just needed a target to test his Dragon Might.
Hals used Dragon Might on the tiger.
A terrifying aura emerged from Hals, like a giant dragon roaring towards the sky. A fierce wind blew from him, flattening the nearby grass as if they were subjects bowing to their king. Hals was the king.
But the direction of the bowing was reversed, their butts facing Hals.
The tiger didn’t faint but crouched down, trembling.
Hals: “……..”
How weak.
He couldn’t even make a tiger faint.
However, the tiger’s thoughts were different.
It was so powerful, just a glance made me crouch down, unable to move.
“Negative emotion from the tiger +…..”
Not much, anyway.
Ace didn’t continue watching after that.
And Hals.
He took out a bottle of purple liquid.
Poured it into the tiger’s mouth.
Then left the tiger to convulse on its own.
They charged at each other.
Ace’s pipe looked impressive, but his moves were just a few street-fighting techniques. They were all attacks, with weak defense and poor coordination.
As for Hals.
Hals’s combat experience wasn’t high either. He dealt with enemies by brute force.
So, neither had much combat experience. Even though Ace fought often, it wasn’t enough against the strong in this world. Hals’s combat experience was even less than Ace’s.
But Hals had great strength.
Hals’s reaction and dynamic vision were far superior to Ace’s.
Ace swung his pipe at Hals, who easily dodged.
Hals grabbed the pipe, but Ace didn’t let go. Despite the huge difference in their strength, Ace held on tightly.
This resulted in Ace being dragged towards Hals.
Ace felt the distance was too close and released the pipe, jumping back.
“Ace, look, you can’t beat me, and your weapon was taken. Sometimes you have to give up. Aren’t your hands hurting?”
Ace looked at his hands, red and painful.
“Negative emotion from Ace +10”
Hals didn’t need the pipe, tossing it back to Ace.
“Want to continue?”
Ace was silent.
After a moment’s thought.
“Yes.”
Ace’s eyes were determined.
He sees me as a stepping stone.
Fine, I can use this to improve my combat experience, though not by much.
“Ace, come at me confidently. You can’t hurt me anyway.”
Ace gripped his pipe, ready to attack, but suddenly froze.
Can’t hurt me?
“Hals, you’re going too far.”
Ace shouted angrily.
“Negative emotion from Ace +110”
Sabo and Luffy laughed on the side.
Ace charged again, and the swings of his pipe became more aggressive, producing sonic booms.
Ace aimed for Hals’s waist, but Hals easily jumped back, dodging and charging forward.
Hals reached for Ace, who retreated, using his pipe to block Hals’s attack.
Hals couldn’t change his move but wasn’t afraid, grabbing the pipe. Ace remembered the previous incident, ready to let go, but Hals also released it, grabbing Ace’s shoulder.
“Ace, you lost again.”
Ace hung his head. He knew Hals was holding back, catching his shoulder when he could have grabbed anywhere.
“Yeah.”
Ace nodded.
This time he truly admitted defeat. It wasn’t about being stubborn before, just testing if he could win. But he lost thoroughly both times.
Their physical difference was too great, and combat experience couldn’t bridge that gap.
“Alright, let’s wash up and go to sleep.”
Hals turned and walked back to the bandit’s hideout.
