One Piece Dragon King - Chapter 30
Hals looked at his grandfather, who was still asleep before him.
Hals had already woken up.
Or rather, he hadn’t really slept much at all.
He felt that his grandfather might take him away today, leaving here, leaving ASL, leaving the bandits’ hideout, leaving Windmill Village, leaving the East Blue, leaving…
His brothers.
Hals thought about this.
He was a person who enjoyed thinking, even if he didn’t come up with much.
Regardless, he had already built enough goodwill. This phrase popped into his mind, not because he viewed his three brothers coldly like tools, but to affirm his status as their brother.
He had achieved his greatest goal, but Hals wanted to do one last thing.
That was to deal with the captain of the Blue Sapphire Pirates.
Uncertain of what changes his presence as a “butterfly” might have caused, Hals worried that if one of his brothers died or was maimed, it could affect the story’s progression. Hals disliked things he couldn’t control.
Hals decided to kill that guy.
As for whether Ace and Luffy would become weaker, he would deal with that later.
Garp would likely approve of his actions.
Hals felt he didn’t need to stay with his three brothers all the time. He could use this time to learn the [Navy Six Styles] in the Navy and perhaps even learn [Fish-Man Karate]. It seemed like these two were the strongest martial arts in the series.
Jinbe could use Fish-Man Karate to send Big Mom flying with the advantage of the sea, showing how powerful it was.
Although Chinjao, who knew the [Hasshoken], wasn’t weak either, Garp had used eight mountains as punching bags to fight him.
However, the original story didn’t describe the [Hasshoken] much, and it didn’t have any special features. In contrast, [Fish-Man Karate] had water manipulation, which matched well with Hals.
Using Garp’s position, Hals could likely learn [Fish-Man Karate].
Hals only needed to learn it, not necessarily from a strong teacher.
After thinking this through, he looked at his still-sleeping grandfather. Dadan was already awake, having been kicked awake by the old man.
Dadan looked at Hals helplessly but said nothing.
Hals finished washing up and went back to meditating.
The old man woke up, looking at the words left by his two half-grandsons on the wall, feeling speechless.
“Sigh—”
He sighed, glancing at his other grandson.
His grandson was sleeping, so he didn’t disturb him.
Yesterday, he was too angry with Ace and Luffy and did some excessive things, and had too many expectations of Hals. Even using the [Iron Fist of Love] couldn’t change the fact that he wanted his two grandsons to become Marines instead of pirates.
The old man seemed to age a few years.
He hoped they wouldn’t resent him.
He hoped there was some way to make it up to Hals, who was also a poor child.
“Grandpa, you’re awake.”
Hals said with his eyes closed, then slowly opened them.
Garp: “………..”
How did you know I was awake with your eyes closed? Is it Observation Haki?
Could his grandson be naturally gifted with Observation Haki, a once-in-a-century Marine genius?
Garp’s face showed surprise, and Hals understood his thoughts.
“I was just meditating.”
Garp said nothing.
“Grandpa, there’s something I want to do first.”
“What is it?”
Because of his unreasonable behavior last night, giving his grandson a beating, Garp felt guilty. As long as it was within his power, he would do it.
“There’s a pirate in the Goa Kingdom’s Terminal of the Slums. I’m going to kill him. He… his men beat up Luffy, and I want revenge.”
Garp was silent.
His grandson really hated pirates, just not his two half-grandsons.
Or maybe he valued the bond between brothers more.
“Go ahead. Do you want me to come with you?”
Hals had shown enough ability to take down that pirate crew without getting seriously injured, but the old man was always worried about his grandson, especially this one who might become the strongest Marine.
That fruit should be a Mythical Zoan type.
“Sure.”
Hals wanted the old man to see how rotten this country had become and whether anything could be done to change it.
They reached the Terminal of the Slums shortly after, having already had breakfast.
“Bluejam, come out.”
“Grandpa, just watch from the side.”
Hals had changed into new clothes. After transforming into a dragon, he had several sets to avoid being without clothes. He had looted many things from the previous ship.
Garp’s breathing slowed. Despite his frequent battlefield experiences and exposure to the stench of corpses, the simple reek of garbage here seemed worse.
Garp wouldn’t do something as delicate as covering his nose, but it had been a long time since he’d smelled such a foul odor.
This country was utterly corrupt.
Garp felt sad but was more concerned about his grandson.
Hals’ voice was loud, and the Blue Sapphire Pirates soon gathered.
“Brat, do you want to die?”
Bluejam was already angry about losing his treasure and couldn’t find it. Now a brat was provoking him. Bluejam planned to vent his frustration on the kid but not kill him too quickly, or the Blue Sapphire Pirates’ reputation would plummet. How could other pirates respect him if a mere kid dared to insult him?
“Negative emotions from Bluejam +300”
“Negative emotions from Blue Sapphire Pirates +200”
“From…”
Are these people nobodies?
It didn’t matter; maybe the system didn’t bother with small fry.
“Bastard, do you want to die?”
“We’re the Blue Sapphire Pirates. Don’t think we’ll go easy on you just because you’re a kid.”
“If you provoke our pirate crew, be prepared to die.”
Unnamed pirates shouted at Hals like thugs before a brawl.
Hals needed to act cool, so he didn’t slowly take off his clothes.
“Roar—”
Hals transformed into a golden dragon, standing ten meters tall. Maybe he wouldn’t grow, but that didn’t matter.
Hals’ form could be seen even outside the Terminal of the Slums.
Bluejam was dumbfounded, staring at the dragon.
Confirming this was someone he couldn’t beat.
Also, what was happening? Why was such a powerful enemy targeting him?
Bluejam turned to flee.
What did I do?
“Negative emotions from Bluejam +500”
“Negative emotions from Blue Sapphire Pirates +400”
“From…”
“Mercy, this is all the captain’s doing, nothing to do with us.”
“Yes, kill the captain.”
“Run!”
Hals was puzzled. Did he say anything? These pirates were interesting; in this world that glorified pirates, they didn’t talk about comradeship, friendship, trust, just wanting to live and pushing blame.
Wait, this meant they had done more bad things recently, right?
Hals inhaled the stench and exhaled.
No wonder they were villains.
Though not very strong.
“Water Magic: Water Arrow Technique.”
Several large water arrows appeared in the air, much bigger than before, though Hals didn’t use much magic power.
The water arrows flew at the pirates, hitting their legs—that was enough.
The water arrows broke their legs and exploded on the ground. Without fire, the water splashed, killing them and shredding their bodies.
Naturally, this was due to Hals’ control.
The Blue Sapphire Pirates were annihilated.
Garp smiled with satisfaction; his grandson wasn’t bad.
Hals brought back their heads, one pirate’s head even pierced.
“Garp, the man who captured Roger.”
Though the old man wasn’t in uniform and dressed casually, he was still recognized by an elderly man holding a large mallet, who had been hammering something but now stopped.
What was the relationship between this kid and Garp? A figure like Garp accompanying him and looking pleased.
Could it be his grandson?
Naguri felt uneasy.
He shouldn’t be here for me.
Hals’ body shrank, water surrounding him to cover him, and he quickly changed clothes.
“Grandpa, let’s go.”
In his new clothes, Hals spoke to Garp.
Garp looked at his grandson, feeling emotional. His dream of training the strongest Marine to combat evil was officially starting.
“Oh, by the way, how much is this head worth?”
“Hals, you aim to be the strongest Marine. You should ask about the merit points.”
“Oh, Grandpa, how many merit points for this head?”
“Hmph, just an East Blue pirate, how much do you expect?”
Hals didn’t understand why his grandpa suddenly acted so haughty.
