One Piece Dragon King - Chapter 40
Seeing the negative emotions he had harvested, Hals was very pleased.
This girl now knew what true pain was. He doubted she could even write a 2000-word reflection, yet she thought she could manage 5000 words. She’d be lucky to get 1000.
Moreover, there was no internet in this era where you could find reference articles. A nine-year-old girl would burn countless brain cells trying to write that much.
Hals’s mouth curved up slightly, though he didn’t want to laugh out loud, so he held it in. It looked like a shy smile, but behind that smile was the grin of a devil.
Not a devil, he thought. Call me the Demon King.
That night, Hals continued his training.
The next morning, at five o’clock, the Demon King—no, Hals—got up, washed, and went to breakfast.
Without using the [Energy Potion], he went to the cafeteria to eat a big meal.
On the way to the cafeteria, he passed by the girls’ dormitory and saw a figure with blue hair on the balcony.
That person was sitting on the balcony railing, her legs swinging weakly, her eyes vacant as she stared at the sky, like a husky deprived of its destructive instincts.
More importantly, she looked unstable, and her lethargic state suggested she might fall off.
“Ain, what are you doing? That’s dangerous.”
“I don’t want to write.”
Ain’s voice was soft, inaudible.
But Hals, already downstairs, noticed her lips moving as if saying something.
“Hey, what are you saying?”
“I don’t want to write a reflection. I really don’t want to write it. I can’t do it.”
Hals couldn’t hear clearly.
“What are you saying?”
At that moment, tears streamed down Ain’s cheeks as she stared vacantly at the ceiling, seemingly crying over her mistake from the previous day. Yesterday’s impulse had turned into today’s regret.
Wait, why the ceiling?
The balcony had a ceiling to prevent clothes from getting wet in the rain.
“Thud—”
Hals heard a sound like two hard objects colliding.
Ain’s head had hit the floor.
Luckily, she didn’t fall off.
Hals felt her pain and instinctively closed his eyes.
Sigh, let’s go. This child nearly made me think she was going to jump.
“Hals, you jerk—”
Hals hadn’t walked far when he heard a shout. A girl ran out from the dormitory a bump on her head, tears in her eyes, and anger all over her face.
“Negative emotions from Ain +350”
Ain grabbed Hals by the collar, bringing her face close to his.
“You jerk, making me write a 5000-word reflection. I worked all night and only managed 700 words.”
“Oh~”
Hals turned his head away, pretending it had nothing to do with him.
“Negative emotions from Ain +350”
“Do you really think I can finish a 5000-word reflection in three days? I didn’t sleep at all last night, just writing.”
“Uh-huh.”
“Negative emotions from Ain +350”
Hals nodded. Ain’s dark circles were real.
“Are you even listening to me?”
Her saliva sprayed onto his face. Girls should pay attention to their image.
“No.”
“Ah—so annoying! Do you believe I won’t use my ability on you right now?”
“I believe it.”
Hals responded indifferently.
“But you’re spraying saliva on my face. Do you want to spray it on my lips and have an indirect kiss?”
“Negative emotions from Ain +350”
Ain’s face turned red, and steam seemed to rise from her head.
“Hals—”
She screamed, waking many people.
“Negative emotions from Bins +300”
“Negative emotions from Shuzo +300”
“Hals, you’re dead meat. I won’t let you off.”
“Uh-huh.”
Hals nodded dismissively.
“Negative emotions from Ain +350”
Ain ran away, frustrated.
“See you later~”
Hals waved.
Ain stumbled, nearly falling.
“Negative emotions from Ain +350”
Getting angry is not good.
Hals cheerfully went to the cafeteria.
Checking his records, he saw Ain constantly giving him negative emotions.
Thanks a lot.
He felt bad for troubling the three brothers but for them…
I’ll go all out.
After all, we’re not close.
Hals grinned mischievously and went to the cafeteria.
“A headache. I didn’t ask where he lives to avoid him.”
Ain held her head. She still couldn’t confirm if Hals was in the girls’ dormitory or which floor.
“Negative emotions from Ain +350”
Time passed quickly.
At night.
In the small courtyard.
A strand of purple hair fluttered in the wind.
“Hals, what trouble have you caused now?”
“Zephyr-sensei, what happened?”
Hals was puzzled.
“I heard you bullied that girl again today.”
“Why ‘again’? Sensei, I was the one bullied yesterday.”
“Do you really think she can finish a 5000-word reflection?”
“Hehe.”
Hals chuckled.
“I just wanted her to realize how dangerous her ability is and not use it recklessly. This morning, I don’t know what happened.”
Zephyr ran a hand through his purple hair. Hals had great talent but caused too much trouble. Zephyr felt he would go bald eventually.
“That 5000 words was just a joke. Let her write 500 words. Don’t make it too hard for her, okay?”
“Got it, Zephyr-sensei.”
Actually, this reflection was for Ain to give Hals.
Zephyr wouldn’t check it; it was Ain’s punishment.
