One Piece Dragon King - Chapter 56
It was Halse’s third day surviving in the jungle.
Surviving in the jungle wasn’t difficult.
Encountering a beast meant an instant meal.
Every creature, regardless of its nature or taste in the previous life, was quite delicious in the One Piece world. These creatures were abundant on every island, and their taste wasn’t a concern unless in extreme environments like Alabasta’s desert or Drum Kingdom.
Almost every creature could produce a large chunk of meat.
Halse was initially surprised by this but had grown accustomed to it.
He burped, having already eaten dozens of beasts in just three days.
These beasts were huge, ranging from three to seven meters tall.
Seven meters was quite high, about the height of a two-story building.
However, these beasts were no match for Halse, and they were defeated with a single punch.
“Still not full,” Halse said, sitting on the skull of a giant elephant. Its neck was broken, indicating it had endured pain beyond its years. Halse rubbed his chin, deep in thought.
The giant elephant had disturbed Halse while he was sleeping.
Perhaps the elephant was attracted to the plants protecting Halse, thinking they looked delicious. It had charged at Halse, aiming to eat those plants.
The ground shook, and rocks flew.
Halse was meditating while sleeping, a practice that allowed him to train and rest simultaneously.
Halse was always alert and woke up immediately. Even without his vigilance, the noise of the elephant would have woken him.
Seeing the charging elephant, Halse felt irritated.
Although Halse didn’t usually get grumpy when waking up, being disturbed from a good sleep was annoying.
And he was hungry.
He decided to make the giant elephant his midnight snack.
Forget about the notion that eating at night was bad.
Halse’s body was incredibly strong due to his intense training. His physical strength and defense, agility, and dynamic vision were vastly enhanced. Even a Great Grade Sword couldn’t easily cut his skin without a powerful swordsman.
Of course, with enough force, it could still cut.
After all, it was a Great Grade Sword.
Additionally, Halse could now regenerate limbs as long as he had enough energy, even regrowing his spine, heart, and brain, as long as he wasn’t dead.
“Dragon Might,” Halse muttered, his eyes half-closed, looking groggy. Suddenly, a terrifying aura emanated from him. Despite maintaining his human form, he seemed to transform into a colossal dragon, blocking out the sky.
The giant elephant panicked.
I just came to eat some grass.
Seeing the tasty grass beside you, I came over. What are you doing?
“Negative emotions from the giant elephant +3,000.”
“Well. . .”
The elephant’s strength was mediocre, more of a training partner.
Halse pushed off the ground with a powerful leap, causing the ground to crack with a web of fractures.
Although Halse hadn’t exerted much effort, his jump was at the full speed of someone proficient in the Six Powers’ “Soru.”
It’s not that Halse didn’t need the Six Powers; rather, he needed them even more.
Only the Six Powers could fully utilize his physical strength.
Like Rob Lucci, though Lucci was still too weak.
“Bang!”
With a loud sound, Halse jumped and did a graceful backflip in midair, then kicked the elephant’s neck.
“Precise and elegant,” Halse said, his voice seeming slow but only to him. His powerful soul allowed his brain to think rapidly, picking up even the faintest sounds.
“Crack.”
The sound of a bone breaking echoed.
The giant elephant’s head tilted.
Its neck was broken, held up only by muscles and skin.
“Negative emotions from the giant elephant +5,000.”
These were the last negative emotions from the creature, marking its limit.
The elephant became Halse’s midnight snack. He had brought some seasonings, like salt, black pepper, ketchup, and ginger, before setting out.
Unfortunately, spices like star anise and Sichuan peppercorn seemed nonexistent in the One Piece world, or at least he hadn’t found them.
The delicious aroma enticed both humans and beasts, increasing their appetite.
Before Halse could finish cooking, more fearless creatures approached.
“Negative emotions from the leopard +3,000.”
“Negative emotions from the lion +4,000.”
“Negative emotions from the tiger +4,200.”
“Negative emotions from the giant snake +4,300.”
These creatures either ended up in Halse’s stomach or were frozen for storage in his nearly full inventory.
Sigh~ Too much money can be a hassle.
Look, it can’t even fit.
If only he had experienced this kind of trouble in his past life and even more intensely.
Ahem, back to the present.
Halse took some food from his storage space. He never worried about the space because as long as he lived, his strength increased, and with it, his storage capacity.
Halse never skimped on himself. Next to him was a small structure made of wood.
This wood had the hardness of steel, called Adam Wood.
Adam Wood was not only as hard as steel but also highly resistant to high temperatures, corrosion, and freezing, making it an essential material for living and traveling.
Using plant magic, Halse created Adam Wood. A huge sapling grew from the ground, and Halse shaped it into a large treehouse as he wished.
Three bedrooms and two living rooms are perfect.
The bathroom could be managed with plant magic, making it one of the most versatile magics for improving living conditions in the wild.
