One Piece Dragon King - Chapter 57
Halse lived comfortably. Apart from hunting when he was hungry, he spent most of his time in his little house.
When it rained outside, while others hid in tree holes or caves, Halse stayed in his house, taking out his stored food.
When it thundered and rained while others looked for a safe place to avoid lightning, Halse remained in his house, taking out his stored food.
When the weather cleared up, while others searched for huntable prey, Halse stayed in his house, taking out his stored food.
Don’t ask how much food Halse had stored or if he would fail the exam. He passed with ease.
A month passed quickly.
While Halse had started farming, growing various vegetables and fruits, others were fighting for their next meal. Halse’s place had become a small villa, while others had only makeshift shelters in caves or treehouses.
In short, there was no comparison.
Halse passed the exam smoothly and looked at the others, who appeared miserable, with hollow eyes and bodies covered in scars, having endured more pain than their age warranted, yet they made it to the warship through sheer willpower.
Halse sighed with relief.
Luckily, he had some strength; otherwise, he would have ended up like a semi-savage.
Yes, a semi-savage.
Though their faces were clean, they had no clean clothes and no time to wash, so their clothes were dirty. To maintain a bit of dignity, they still appeared somewhat neat.
But seeing others in the same state made them feel better.
Halse, however, was different.
He was very clean, and neat, with time to wash his clothes without needing much time.
Halse could use **Level 2 Water Magic: Cleansing Water**.
**Cleansing Water** had the effects of laundry detergent, dish soap, soap, body wash, facial cleanser, and makeup remover.
Simply put, it cleaned everything dirty.
This water could clean anything and left no residue, feeling like ordinary water. After rinsing with **Cleansing Water**, everything was clean.
It was very convenient, and **Cleansing Water** was drinkable.
Of course, it was best not to drink it after cleaning.
It simply carried away the dirt without destroying it.
Wind magic had **Wind Purification**, which could purify poisonous gases.
Earth magic had **Earth Purification**, which could cleanse polluted land.
Fire magic had **Purifying Fire**, which could burn away impurities without releasing harmful gases.
All elements had purification spells, and water magic’s was **Water Purification**.
After cleansing, Halse used hot air to dry his clothes quickly.
**Wind Purification** also eliminated harmful bacteria in the air, similar to other purifications.
Unlike others, Halse was lively, without any scars, and his clothes were intact. He had no signs of suffering and had even trained his body techniques in his room.
Blood still flowed, but his bones no longer shattered.
Though his bones still cracked, they would eventually heal.
Naturally, this attracted some beasts, but the bloodsucking vine dealt with them, absorbing their blood. The combination of **Adam Wood** and **Magic Wooden Golem** acted like a servant, cutting off the beasts’ heads and preparing them as dried meat or other food.
Halse didn’t even need to hunt.
Initially, Halse planned to hone his combat experience, but the beasts here couldn’t withstand even one punch from him. So, he let his underlings handle it.
These underlings were actually mindless puppets, capable of completing tasks well but without self-awareness.
**Magic Wooden Golem** was a spell used on plants to turn them into combat-capable golems, but only on trees, not on plants like the bloodsucking vine.
This spell was available at level three, similar to **Earth Magic Golem**, **Water Magic Golem**, and **Ice Magic Golem**. Fire, lightning, and wind couldn’t be used as they lacked a physical form, making them unsuitable for tasks and potentially chaotic. For example, **Fire Magic Golem** might ignite wooden floors, and **Wind Magic Golem** might blow things away.
This was just Halse’s opinion.
Each magic level had introductions detailing the spells, their uses, and mana consumption.
Water magic had the lowest mana consumption, while lightning magic had the highest due to its speed and power.
However, One Piece’s lightning magic didn’t seem to have the same undead-targeting power as in some stories. Big Mom’s lightning didn’t harm Brook, who was immune.
So, his lightning likely wouldn’t harm Brook either, but that didn’t matter; he had other attack methods.
Wait, why would he attack Brook? He’s just an eighty-year-old kid! (Luffy hasn’t set sail yet).
**Water Magic Golem** wouldn’t mess up the surroundings or get things wet, as the water was contained. It wouldn’t make it wetter or drier if it stepped on a wet surface, maintaining the original state.
