One Piece Fire Dragon Roar - Chapter 297
“Excuse me, do you have any desserts on your ship?” Vlad asked while squatting on the ship’s railing. He was starving, having flown all morning without seeing an island or any sign of food.
Seeing a pirate ship now, he felt it was an excellent chance to replenish his energy. It wasn’t a pirate crew he recognized; the flag on the mast was unfamiliar. But that didn’t matter to Vlad—not even the ships under the Four Emperors would stop him from his quest for sugar.
“Who’s that?” Cavendish turned sharply, then saw Vlad squatting on the railing, rubbing his stomach.
“Who are you, and what are you doing here?” Cavendish demanded. It was strange for someone to appear on his ship out of nowhere.
“Enemy attack!!!” In an instant, the deck was bustling as pirates armed themselves with swords and guns, pointing them at the uninvited Vlad.
“An enemy has appeared!!!” As the pirates rallied around their captain, they surrounded Vlad.
“Hey, hey, that’s not very friendly! I’m not an enemy, just a guy looking for a bite to eat,” Vlad said, standing up. He towered over the crew due to his height, “Isn’t it common courtesy to offer a meal to a castaway at sea? Don’t you guys have any manners?”
“That’s your world’s common sense!” a pirate retorted. “Normally, anyone who boards a ship uninvited is considered an enemy, right?”
“Why waste words with him?” another pirate grumbled. “We’re pirates. Since he dared to board our ship, why bother talking?”
“What sort of person are you?” Cavendish asked, ignoring his crew’s antics.
“Hmm? Upon a closer look…” Vlad stared at Cavendish, not out of surprise at his appearance—despite Cavendish’s striking looks, Vlad was more of a ‘strength over beauty’ kind of guy.
What surprised Vlad was that he recognized Cavendish—not from this life, but from his previous one. This man was a character from the storyline.
“I know you!” Vlad exclaimed.
“Who—”
Vlad scratched his head, trying to remember, “What was it again?”
Cavendish clenched his teeth, veins bulging with irritation, “You dare forget someone as radiant as me?”
“Hold on, don’t rush me! I’ll remember,” Vlad waved his hand dismissively.
“Is it something like…?”
“Ah! Got it!” Vlad suddenly slapped his forehead, ecstatic, “You’re the Virus Exterminator Kabsky, right?”
“…”
“What the hell is a ‘Virus Exterminator’?!” His face was distorted in anger and disbelief, and Cavendish drew his sword and slashed at Vlad, furious that his magnificent persona could be forgotten or mistaken.
“Don’t you remember me? Your violence won’t help you remember!” Vlad easily dodged, floating off the deck, “You pirates are violent, huh? Is this how pirates act now?”
“Whoosh! Beautiful Sword—Azure Bird!” Cavendish made a swift move, thrusting his beloved sword, Durandal, at Vlad with a force that split the air.
“Hmm! Don’t be naughty!” Vlad deflected the sword with a casual flick of his fingers, coated in Armament Haki.
“What???” Cavendish’s eyes widened in disbelief, unable to grasp the situation.
“This guy, this guy, this guy!” The watching pirates dropped their weapons in shock, “He stopped the captain’s sword with just two fingers??”
“Who exactly is this man?!” The disbelief among Cavendish’s crew grew; they had never seen anyone handle their captain so effortlessly.
“Calm down!” With a light kick, Vlad sent Cavendish tumbling back into the ship’s cabin as effortlessly as an adult disciplining a child.
“Let me think a bit harder!” Vlad mused aloud while the astonished crew murmured among themselves.
“Is he—”
One pirate’s eyes widened, “He’s… Fire Dragon Vlad, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea!!!”
