One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills - Chapter 34
“Who are you to block my way? What do you want?” Rokujin asked, unfazed, pretending not to recognise Rayleigh. “Hehe, young man, why don’t you remove that mask and show your true face?” Rayleigh suggested with a smile, guessing from Rokujin’s actions that he was a marine. It was unusual for a marine to save two enslaved people, which was why he was concerned about the safety of the Hancock sisters.
“Ah!” Realising Rayleigh’s intentions, Rokujin removed his mask. As Rayleigh studied the young man’s face, he pondered which marine possessed Conqueror’s Haki, but he couldn’t recall anyone fitting the description.
After a moment, Rokujin turned to the Hancock sisters and smiled, “Come with me. I’ll get you out of here. The Navy will probably arrive soon!” “Okay!” Hancock agreed, taking her sisters with her. She didn’t think twice, trusting the man before her entirely because he had struck a Celestial Dragon for their sake.
Rayleigh quickly followed and explained, “You three are from Amazon, Lily, right? Your current empress, Gloriosa, asked me to bring you back.” “She’s at my bar right now. Why not stop by my bar first?” During his sailing days, he visited Amazon Lily and formed a connection with Gloriosa.
Although Rayleigh’s words made the sisters somewhat trusting, they still followed Rokujin. Holding Rokujin’s hand, Hancock softly said, “We’ll go with him!” “Uh…” Hearing this, Rayleigh looked helpless but suggested to Rokujin, “Young man, you alone can’t help them much. Why not come see our bar first?” After a long consideration, Rokujin responded, “Okay!”
Thus, under Rayleigh’s guidance, they headed to Island #13 and arrived at a bar. The sign over the bar read “Shakky’s Rip-off Bar.” This was Shakuyaku’s bar, a former empress of Amazon Lily, which explained why Rayleigh was willing to help.
“Let’s go. This is the bar I was talking about.” Seeing the expressions on Rokujin and the others’ faces, Rayleigh chuckled. “Okay.” Thankfully, Rokujin still led the Hancock sisters inside. Upon entering, they saw a black-haired woman at the bar, holding a cigarette with a string of pearls around her neck, looking relatively young for her over 60 years. She was indeed Shakuyaku.
Besides her, there was another older woman, Gloriosa. With white wavy hair and a red flower tucked on the left side of her head, holding a snake staff, she was also a former empress of Amazon Lily from three generations ago.
When Shakuyaku noticed the extra person, she glanced at Rokujin and became tense, saying quietly, “Why did you bring an extra person and a marine?” “What? A marine!” Gloriosa exclaimed in disbelief. “He saved the Hancock sisters and even beat up a Celestial Dragon,” Rayleigh explained, not surprised since he knew already and because Shakuyaku’s intelligence network likely recognised Rokujin.
Shakuyaku frowned slightly but asked with a smile, “You know he’s a marine, but do you know who he is? He’s Garp’s grandson!” “Hahaha!” Rayleigh burst out laughing. “Who would’ve thought I’d bring Garp’s grandson here? He probably never expected his grandson would be beating up his people!”
Meanwhile, overhearing the conversation, the Hancock sisters finally realised Rokujin’s extraordinary identity, their eyes filled with suspicion. Why would a marine, especially the grandson of the marine hero Garp, help them?
With his identity revealed, Rokujin said, “I indeed am Garp’s grandson, but I am me, and my grandfather is my grandfather.” “I just don’t agree with how the Celestial Dragons behave!”
“Hahaha, does Garp know about this?” Shakuyaku asked, blowing a smoke ring.
“Do you want my grandfather to kill me?” Rokujin retorted.
“Haha!” Shakuyaku chuckled. “You suit my taste. Since you’re also willing to help them, your marine status could be useful for sailing out.”
“Okay!” Rokujin agreed immediately. Shakuyaku was surprised by his swift consent, which seemed almost too easy. For Rokujin, there was no need to think it over—after all, it was a mission from the system.
“Good, let’s meet here in the bar tomorrow. Remember to bring your marine uniform; I’ll arrange everything,” Shakuyaku instructed.
“Okay!” Rokujin nodded, crouching in front of the Hancock sisters, pulling out 100,000 Berries from his pocket, and handing it to Hancock, ”
Take this, let them buy you something tasty. It’s getting late; I must return to the training camp.”
“Thank you, brother!” With tears brimming in her eyes, Hancock was visibly moved.
“There, it’ll be alright tomorrow!”
Rokujin patted Hancock’s head and then turned to leave. After he had gone, Rayleigh remarked, “That kid is quite interesting, doesn’t seem to be putting on an act, and he’s incredibly talented!”
“Did you know he’s already a warrant officer? He’s taken down three pirate crew captains already. If it weren’t for his sudden promotion, I wouldn’t have even known about him,” Shakuyaku murmured.
“Garp sure has a fine grandson!”
“Why don’t you have one yourself?” Rayleigh teased.
“Uh…” Meanwhile, back on Island 40, Rokujin met up with Xize, and they both returned to the naval training base to sleep. Meanwhile, the Sabaody Archipelago was in uproar because a Celestial Dragon was beaten. A large contingent of marines searched the archipelago for the black-clothed man responsible for the assault, initiating a thorough sweep.
In the office of the Marine Headquarters, the Fleet Admiral’s office.
“A Celestial Dragon was beaten, Garp. This case is yours to investigate,” Sengoku handed a file to Garp.
“Not going, no time!” Garp, picking his nose, refused outright.
Sengoku looked embarrassed and said, “This man in black can use Conqueror’s Haki and also Haki emission. He’s probably solid. If you won’t go, who will?”
“No time!” Garp continued to pick his nose, pretending he hadn’t heard.
Suddenly, Zephyr said, “Sengoku, just promise Garp one thing, and I believe he will agree to help you.”
“What’s the request?” Sengoku asked, puzzled.
Of course, Garp also perked up, looking at Zephyr sceptically, ‘What request could make me change my mind?’
