One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills - Chapter 35
“Find someone skilled in swordsmanship to teach Rokujin. How about that for a deal?” Zephyr suggested with a smile, posing the question to both Sengoku and Garp.
“Hmm…” Sengoku pondered, knowing the person Zephyr suggested must be extraordinarily skilled. He then looked at Garp, asking, “What do you say? Will you agree?”
“If it works out, I agree!” Garp nodded slightly, indicating his approval. After all, he had already promised to find a suitable mentor for Rokujin, but finding the right person had been more complex.
“Alright, I agree to this arrangement. You go ahead and handle it. If you can find that person, great; otherwise, just making an effort will suffice,” Sengoku waved his hand dismissively.
“Remember your promise,” Garp said before leaving, followed closely by Zephyr, who had come specifically to resolve the issue of Rokujin’s swordsmanship. He hadn’t expected to settle the matter so swiftly without intervening—a win-win situation!
Of course, they had no idea, nor could they have imagined, that the man in black was Rokujin himself. They wouldn’t think to connect him with the incident; they would assume some pirate supernova was causing trouble again.
…
The next day at the training camp, Zephyr found Rokujin early in the morning and mysteriously said, “Rokujin, I’ve found you a formidable swordsmanship instructor. Prepare to learn well!”
“Thank you, sir!” Rokujin quickly expressed his gratitude, curiously asking, “Sir, who will be my instructor?” He had no idea that all this was thanks to his grandfather… well, actually, thanks to himself.
“It’s a secret. Just wait for notification at the camp,” Zephyr chuckled, then turned and left.
“Oh!” Watching his retreating figure, Rokujin fell into thought. Who could be teaching me swordsmanship? Fujitora? His sword skills could be more robust; he mainly uses his powers. Moreover, Fujitora isn’t even a Marine Admiral anymore. Forget it, I’ll think about it later; for now, I’ll focus on helping Hancock and her sisters escape.
…
By afternoon, Rokujin changed into his Warrant Officer uniform and headed alone to the nearby Sabaody Archipelago. Wearing the uniform felt good; it earned him a clear path as many smaller pirates didn’t dare to trouble him and even chose to avoid him deliberately.
A few minutes later, Rokujin arrived at Aunt Shakky’s Rip-off BAR on Island #13, which was Shakuyaku’s bar. Inside, Shakuyaku and Rayleigh were already waiting for him.
“You’ve arrived!” Shakuyaku greeted with a smile, exhaling a puff of smoke.
“Yes!” Rokujin nodded, asking, “When do we set off?”
As soon as Hancock and her sisters heard Rokujin’s voice, they ran out together, only to retreat in fright at the sight of his Marine uniform.
“It’s me, Rokujin!” Rokujin crouched down, smiling. Hearing the familiar voice, the Hancock sisters ran out, affectionately calling, “Brother Rokujin!”
“Good girls,” Rokujin said as he touched Hancock’s head and pulled out some candies he had bought on the way.
“Thank you!” Seeing the candies, the eyes of all three sisters lit up, and they immediately began sharing them. Kids will be kids!
By then, the Hancock sisters had changed into new, normal clothes, enhancing Hancock’s beauty. Shakuyaku and Rayleigh exchanged smiles, then said, “We’ll set off now; night-time security is tighter.”
“Alright!” Thus, they immediately got moving. Under Shakuyaku’s arrangements, Rokujin, Rayleigh, the Hancock sisters, and some Fish-Men all boarded a boat. The sisters were hidden inside the cabin.
“Set sail!” commanded the captain. The sails were hoisted, and the ship headed out to sea. Rokujin stood in his Marine uniform at the bow while Rayleigh lay beside some cargo, drinking.
Before long, a Marine ship appeared ahead, blocking their way.
“Halt, routine Marine inspection!” a Marine Sergeant shouted towards the people on the ship. As the ship halted, Rokujin stepped forward, demanding, “Move aside, don’t you know who I am?”
“Warrant Officer!” Seeing Rokujin’s uniform, the Sergeant immediately saluted respectfully, as did the other Marines. However, the Sergeant was still reluctant to let them pass, explaining, “Warrant Officer! We are under orders to search every departing ship for a criminal who assaulted a Celestial Dragon, even if it’s an Admiral’s ship.”
“I hope you won’t make this difficult for us; we’ll just perform a quick search and leave.”
“Hmm?” Rokujin frowned, looking at Rayleigh, who signaled with
a gesture that it’s best not to let them search.
“What are you playing at? Do you really want me to fight these Marines right here?” Rokujin said, exasperated. Suddenly, the Marine Sergeant continued, “Warrant Officer, may we board the ship for the inspection now?”
“You…” As Rokujin was at a loss, a familiar voice intervened: “I’ll conduct the search on their ship!” Everyone’s attention was suddenly drawn to the newcomer. The chapter is not over yet, please click the next page to continue reading!
A white-haired man wearing a dog-head hat and eating a donut slowly approached. Indeed, it was Rokujin’s grandfather, Garp. “Grandpa…” Rokujin paused slightly, about to speak, but then he seemed to think better of it and remained silent.
Of course, Garp also pretended not to recognise Rokujin and continued walking slowly. “Yes, Vice Admiral!” The marines cleared a path, allowing Garp to board the ship. Rayleigh and Garp exchanged glances without saying a word.
Following that, Garp entered the cabin to start the inspection and immediately noticed Hancock and her sisters hiding in a corner. The marines were not only on the lookout for the mysterious man in black but also had warrants for the Hancock sisters. It wasn’t hard to recognize them!
Following Garp, Rokujin asked in a low voice, embarrassed, “Grandpa, what are you doing here?”
“It’s good that I’m here!” Garp replied sternly, then countered, “Was that your doing?” With the three girls on Rokujin’s ship, it wasn’t difficult for him to connect Rokujin with the man in black.
“How could it be me, Grandpa!” Rokujin said earnestly.
“Hmm, right!” On further thought, Garp realized his worries were unnecessary. How could Rokujin have learned to emit Haki so quickly? Perhaps it was Rayleigh’s doing. That older man never rests. He even dared to lead my grandson astray. I’ll have to settle scores with him when I get the chance and give him a good talking to!
“Alright, do what you want to do. I won’t stop you. They indeed don’t belong here; take them and leave,” Garp said, glancing at Hancock and her sisters.
