One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills - Chapter 39
As Rokujins entered the castle, he could no longer hold on, violently spitting out a mouthful of blood, “Puh!” and collapsed heavily to the ground, lying there to rest. The strike from the Baboon King had broken several of his ribs. It was powerful, but fortunately, he had reached the castle.
?Ding, congratulations to the host for completing the task. System reward: Energy points +2, Swordsmanship level +1!?
Meanwhile, from a window in a castle room, a man with hawk-like eyes smiled a meaningful smile, murmuring to himself, “Unexpectedly, such a monstrously talented individual has emerged from the Navy. No wonder they asked me to teach him.” So young, yet already mastering three types of Haki, including the emission and wrapping of Haki. His talent is terrifying! His swordsmanship talent is especially formidable, no less formidable than his Haki. Coupled with his ruthless treatment of enemies, he will become a great Navy admiral!
That evening, Rokujins slept soundly in the hall. The following day, he awoke from the aches all over his body, moved his shoulders around, and went upstairs, preparing to find Hawkeye! Since he was here, he needed to learn swordsmanship from Hawkeye. He searched from one room to another, climbing one floor after another. Finally, Rokujins found Hawkeye Mihawk in a room on the top floor.
“You’re here!” Hawkeye was sitting leisurely in the living room, eating a steak and drinking red wine comfortably! Upon seeing Rokujins, he simply said one sentence.
“Hmm!” Rokujins nodded, his eyes fixed on the system interface displaying Mohawk’s attributes.
?Character: Mihawk?
?Position: Shichibukai?
?Level: SSS?
?Skills: Swordsmanship (SSS+), Armament Haki (SSS), Observation Haki (SSS), Sword Intent (SSS)…?
Very strong! Comparable to Garp! Truly worthy of being the man who could match Shanks in a sword fight!
Mihawk nodded, “Come in, eat, and after, we’ll begin training!”
“Okay, Teacher!” Rokujins smiled slightly, sitting opposite Mihawk and began to eat. However, Mihawk suddenly spoke indifferently, “I am not your teacher, nor will I teach you anything. You are merely staying here for two years.”
“Hmm?” Rokujins frowned slightly but did not ask further. He guessed there might have been some agreement between Garp and Mihawk that allowed Mihawk to teach him swordsmanship, but not in a teacher-student context. What that agreement was, he probably couldn’t guess.
Mihawk put down his wine glass and continued, “The medicine for your injuries is on the fifth floor; you can get it yourself. After eating, come to the first floor.”
“Okay!” Rokujins nodded, watching Mihawk leave. A few minutes later, after finishing the steak, Rokujins first went to the fifth floor to apply medicine to his shoulder wounds, then headed to the first floor. By then, Mihawk was already standing at the door entrance, and upon seeing Rokujins come out, he spoke directly, “Your swordsmanship is not bad, but it relies too much on Haki.”
“While Haki can enhance the power of swordsmanship, it detaches from the essence of the sword itself.”
“Prepare yourself, take this strike with your strongest attack!”
“What?!!” Hearing this, Rokujins’s face stiffened, his eyes widening. I’m not teaching anything; just take a strike! This isn’t how you taught Zoro, right?
But Mihawk didn’t care about Rokujins’s reaction; he just took out his giant sword, one of the supreme grade swords, Yoru. The blade was etched with a chaotic flower Damascus pattern, and the hilt was inlaid with various coloured gems.
Seeing this, Rokujins’s face darkened, and he quickly hardened his entire body with Armament Haki. Using a small knife against Zoro, but the black blade Yoru against me, huh?
“I… am striking now!” Mihawk said, slowly raising Yoru, and swung a slash towards Rokujins. What seemed like a straightforward sword strike carried an incredibly terrifying force. It felt as if, at that moment, Mihawk was a fierce tiger of a flood!
Instantly, the sword light flashed! A slash tore through the air, flying rapidly towards Rokujins. The sharp sword’s energy gouged out the ground along its path!
“Uh… so strong!” Rokujins swallowed hard, feeling the immense pressure from this strike. It locked him
Seeing this, Rokujins could not dodge and was forced to hold his swords with both hands to take the strike head-on. “Boom!” As Mihawk’s slash made contact with the blade, a tremendous force instantly shot through his arms like being struck by a massive, ferocious beast of a flood. In the blink of an eye, Rokujins flew backwards, crashing into the trees behind him. One after another! “Boom! Boom! Boom…” He didn’t know how many he had broken, just hearing the continuous sounds of impact. After a while, Rokujins finally came to a stop, collapsing heavily on the ground and violently spitting out a mouthful of blood: “Puh!” He then looked up at the distant Mihawk, feeling utterly frustrated. If he could speak, he would undoubtedly say, “Is this how you teach swordsmanship? Couldn’t you demonstrate instead of attacking directly?”
“Hehe!!” “Figure it out yourself. You’ll be ready to leave when you can take one of my strikes!” Suddenly, Mihawk chuckled, left these words behind, and walked back into the castle.
“…” Rokujins’s mouth twitched, wanting to say something but stopping himself. It felt as if his organs had shifted; moving in any way brought intense pain. Just as he was puzzling over what Mihawk meant by ‘figuring it out’, the system’s notification suddenly rang out.
?Ding, congratulations to the host for discovering the Sword Intent skill. Would you like to learn it??
“Yes!” Rokujins decisively chose to learn. Instantly, a strange sensation entered his mind as if his connection with the sword deepened significantly. It felt almost like he could converse with the sword in his hands—a mysterious and incredible feeling!
