One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills - Chapter 59
### Chapter 59: Devil Fruit User! Let Me Handle It!
“Weevil and his mother!” Rokujin’s expression turned serious as he stared at the pirate ship before him. Zephyr followed Rokujin’s gaze and recognized them as well. “It’s them! The recent supernovas!” Immediately, he ordered the crew behind him, “Quick! Inform all trainees to prepare for battle, and the rest stay in the cabin!”
“Yes, Admiral Zephyr!” The marine immediately went to relay the orders. The internship ship had many regular marines, but the elite training camp trainees were the ones with real strength.
Meanwhile, Weevil and Bakkin were discussing the Marine ship ahead. “Mama, that looks like a Marine ship!”
“It’s a Marine internship ship! Son, kill everyone on it, and your bounty will increase again! Ha ha ha!”
“Okay, Mama!” Weevil raised his large broadsword, covered his hands with Armament Haki, and unleashed a powerful slash toward the internship ship.
“Swish!” Instantly, a huge white sword energy shot out, slicing through the sea below and leaving a flying trail as if the water was making way.
“Courting death!” Zephyr roared, hardening his hands with Armament Haki. He leaped from the bow, his blackened fists meeting Weevil’s slash head-on.
“Boom!” The impact caused a shockwave, pushing the Marine internship ship back several meters.
“Hmm?” Bakkin adjusted her glasses and suddenly thought of something. She patted Weevil’s arm and said with a smile, “Son! Take the men and kill them all!”
“Okay, Mama!” Weevil jumped from the ship, landed in the sea, and dashed towards the internship ship, skimming over the water.
“Kill! Ah!”
“Kill!”
“…”
The pirates on Weevil’s ship were ecstatic. As their ship approached the internship ship, they charged recklessly. Zephyr stood at the bow, shouting, “Kids, it’s your turn to fight!”
“Yes, Teacher!” the trainees responded unison, grabbing their weapons and charging at the pirates. Rokujin, however, didn’t engage unless a pirate directly attacked him. He mainly observed the battle between Weevil and Zephyr.
Despite Weevil’s immense strength, he was being overpowered by Zephyr. Zephyr’s powerful punches repeatedly landed on Weevil’s face, leaving him bloodied and bruised. Zephyr intercepted each of Weevil’s attacks, causing minimal harm.
Rokujin glanced at Bakkin, who was still on the pirate ship, and muttered, “What exactly is her ability? Why hasn’t she acted yet, even though Weevil has the power to defeat Zephyr?”
“Maybe I should just go over and kill her!”
After silence, Rokujin drew his black blade and used Soru to navigate between the Marines and pirates, steadily making his way toward Bakkin on the pirate ship.
Bakkin seemed to sense something and, leaning on her cane, urged, “Son! Come back and protect me!”
“Okay, Mama!” Weevil immediately abandoned his fight with Zephyr. He noticed Rokujin approaching Bakkin and swung his broadsword towards him.
“What’s going on? How did she notice me?” Rokujin wondered, puzzled. He turned to face the incoming blade, raising his sword to counter it.
“Clang!” The broadsword and the black blade clashed, sending sparks flying. The powerful impact sent Rokujin flying back several dozen meters before he could stabilize himself.
At the same time, Zephyr took advantage of Weevil’s distraction and landed a punch in his face.
“Boom!” Weevil’s facial muscles shifted, and he spat a mouthful of blood. However, he seemed unfazed, countering with another sword strike. Zephyr dodged and called out to Rokujin, “Rokujin! Are you alright?”
“I’m fine, Teacher. Be careful; this big guy isn’t easy!” Rokujin warned seriously.
“Alright, you be careful too. His recovery ability is very strong!” Zephyr said before resuming his fight with Weevil.
Hearing this, Rokujin noticed Weevil’s wounds more closely. There were three glaring scars on his body: one on his left arm and another on his head. It seemed Weevil had survived severe injuries, including having his left arm and head slashed or cut off. How could he have recovered from that?
This could explain why he could overpower Zephyr. No matter Zephyr’s strength, he couldn’t deal with someone who could heal rapidly. The key to this battle was likely Bakkin!
?Ding, would you like to consume 10 energy points to upgrade the system??
“Yes!” Rokujin chose to upgrade the system.
?Ding, system upgrading… Upgrade successful! Please check the new features, host!?
A surge of information flooded into Rokujin’s mind. He now knew all the new features of the upgraded system. It could now identify the enemy’s Devil Fruit abilities and use energy points to enhance skills directly. The greater the enhancement, the more energy points are consumed. However, the crucial part was knowing Bakkin’s Devil Fruit ability.
When Rokujin looked at Bakkin again, he noticed changes in the system interface information.
[Character: Miss Bakkin]
[Position: None]
[Level: F+]
[Devil Fruit: Healing Fruit]
[Skills: Devil Fruit Development (A+)]
[Bounty: 1 million Berries]
As expected, it was a healing-type fruit! Who would have thought the Healing Fruit could be so powerful, capable of reattaching Weevil’s severed arm? The scar on his head might even suggest he had his head chopped off, which could explain why he seemed dim-witted. Rokujin’s eyes grew cold as he stared at Bakkin. ‘She must be killed to negate Weevil’s fruit ability!’
However, any attempt to attack Bakkin would undoubtedly provoke Weevil to defend her at all costs. Sensing Rokujin’s killing intent, Bakkin pointed at him and shouted, “Son, kill that boy!”
“Okay, Mama!” Weevil nodded, slashing Zephyr aside and turning to attack Rokujin.
“Rokujin, be careful!” Zephyr, seeing this, tried to help.
But Rokujin stopped him. “Teacher! Don’t come to help me. I’ll hold him off; you go assist the others!”
“Hmm?” Zephyr was momentarily stunned, not understanding Rokujin’s intention until he saw the determination in Rokujin’s eyes. Realizing Rokujin’s plan, he quickly flew back to support the trainees. Returning to the internship ship, he found his trainees struggling against the pirates, with only a few managing to hold their own.
