One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills - Chapter 60
The pirates seemed fearless, charging and attacking even when injured. No wonder Zephyr’s trainees were struggling! However, with Zephyr’s assistance, the pressure on the trainees quickly diminished.
Meanwhile, Rokujin was fiercely battling Weevil. The energy waves from their clash created a massive depression in the surrounding sea. Despite his best efforts, Rokujin was constantly on the defensive. Pure swordsmanship wasn’t enough to defeat Weevil, but Rokujin was reluctant to reveal his Devil Fruit abilities.
After a moment of contemplation, Rokujin’s eyes narrowed as he decided to use the skill enhancement reward he had received earlier.
?Ding, would you like to upgrade the skill ‘Sword Intent’??
“Yes!”
?Ding, congratulations to the host for upgrading the skill ‘Sword Intent’!?
Weevil’s massive sword swung towards Rokujin at high speed as the system notification sounded.
“Die!”
Rokujin frowned, raising his sword to block. The enormous blade came down like a giant hand, carrying a strong gust of wind.
“Clang!” The clash of sword and blade sent out a powerful shockwave, making Rokujin’s arms numb and forcing him back several dozen meters before he could stabilize himself. Weevil would eventually wear him down if he didn’t enhance his strength soon!
Zephyr will notice the anomaly between Weevil and Bakkin and take her out! Rokujin had avoided giving Zephyr a clear hint earlier to prevent Bakkin from realizing he knew about her Devil Fruit ability. If she had suspected, she would have fled. Now that they encountered Weevil and his mother, Rokujin was determined not to let them escape.
Once Rokujin steadied himself, a terrifying sword intent radiated from his entire being, filling the air around him. He became as sharp and menacing as a sword. The rain falling from the sky couldn’t touch him, repelled by his intense sword aura. This was S-Rank Sword Intent!
Weevil, oblivious to the change, continued his relentless assault on Rokujin. Suddenly, Rokujin leaped into the air, spinning his black blade. Pink sword energy began to form around him. The spinning motion created multiple afterimages, with each movement producing more and more sword energy, forming a rain of pink sword petals.
“One-Sword Style: Heavenly Scattering Flower!” Rokujin’s eyes flashed, and he pointed his sword forward—the petals of sword energy shot toward Weevil like a shower of cherry blossoms.
“Get lost!” Weevil roared, swinging his sword to deflect the incoming attacks. However, the petals danced with the wind, evading his blade and striking him instead. Each petal left a bleeding wound as it passed.
“Ah! It hurts, Mama!” Weevil cried out, feeling the excruciating pain like a thousand ants biting him.
“Son! Hang in there, you won’t die. Kill that boy quickly!” Bakkin urged.
“Okay, Mama!” Weevil tried to advance but was continuously blocked by the relentless sword energy. He couldn’t move forward at all.
Once the sword energy dissipated, Weevil was covered in wounds, looking terrifying and grotesque. The sword attacks, infused with sword intent, continually damaged his body, preventing him from healing quickly.
“I’ll kill you!” Weevil’s eyes turned red, his muscles bulging as he charged at Rokujin with his sword again. They resumed their intense battle, but with Rokujin’s S-Rank Sword Intent, he could now fight Weevil to a standstill, neither gaining the upper hand.
The powerful energy waves from their clash spread outwards, making it impossible for ordinary people to approach. Anyone who got too close was blown away. However, this battle of attrition would eventually wear down Rokujin, as Weevil could continuously recover and seemed to have endless stamina.
While Rokujin and Weevil were locked in combat, Zephyr had secretly boarded the pirate ship and approached Bakkin from behind. He unleashed a powerful punch. “Old hag, it’s over for you!”
“What?” Bakkin turned in shock, barely seeing the massive black fist before it hit her.
“Boom!” She was sent flying into the sea, flailing before sinking beneath the waves. “Son… help…”
Zephyr glanced at her and muttered, “As expected, a Devil Fruit user!” He had noticed something unusual while fighting the pirates, seeing their injuries healing rapidly. Initially, he thought Weevil had the ability, but after seeing Weevil fighting Rokujin and touching seawater without any effect, he realized it must be the older woman. Finally understanding Rokujin’s strategy, Zephyr had sneaked up on Bakkin.
“Mama!” Weevil was horrified, abandoning his fight with Rokujin and rushing towards Bakkin.
“You think you can just leave? No way!” Rokujin’s lips curled into a smile. He crossed his swords, imbuing them with Haki, and channeled his sword intent.
“Two-Sword Style: Oni Giri!” Rokujin swung both swords, releasing two powerful sword energies. The red energy transformed into a demon, its sharp claws reaching for Weevil’s back. But Weevil ignored it, focused solely on his mother.
“Get lost!” Zephyr immediately appeared in front of Weevil, delivering a full-force punch to his face and forcing him back several steps. Simultaneously, Rokujin’s Oni Giri struck Weevil’s back. Two deep sword scars appeared, blood splattering and dyeing the sea red.
This attack was far more damaging than before. Without Bakkin’s support, Weevil’s defenses weakened, and he seemed to lose his sense of purpose, becoming a true simpleton.
“Boom!” Soon, Weevil’s eyes closed, and he collapsed heavily into the sea, creating a massive splash.
“So strong! Rokujin’s swordsmanship keeps getting better!”
“It looks like he’s even stronger than last time. How does he train?”
“Didn’t you see? He just practices swinging his sword every day. Simplicity in itself, understand?”
“…”
The other Marines watched in awe at Rokujin’s terrifying attack.
