One Piece My Partner is Too Crooked - Chapter 15
“After not seeing you for a few days, I kind of miss you, Boss Icey.”
Walking with swagger, looking fierce, Higuma approached Boss Icey.
Boss Icey still sat with his legs crossed high, quietly placing the cup in his hand back on the table to cover up his inner panic.
“The time hasn’t come yet, and I don’t have the money,” he said, lifting his head to glance at Higuma, speaking lightly.
This direct statement caught Higuma off guard, and his dark gaze subconsciously gripped the sword at his waist.
Thinking of Boss Icey’s fearless appearance a few days ago, he silently released his grip.
“Rest assured, I’m a man of my word, just hoping that when it’s time for Boss Icey to repay the interest, he can be like me,” Higuma said coldly.
As Boss Icey suspected, the bandits didn’t come this time because they discovered the truth about their flooded lair.
“Why are you here if you have nothing to do? Get out and don’t disturb me doing business,” Boss Icey frowned impatiently.
“Damn guy, how dare he be so disrespectful to our boss?!”
The bandits behind him immediately showed ferocious expressions, brandishing their long knives with a cold glint.
“If you want me to repay the money, put away this act, or come up and stab me in the heart, and we’ll call it even,” Boss Icey said indifferently, spreading his hands as if owing money made him a superior.
He had long figured out Higuma’s character traits and was certain the other wouldn’t act, at least not until the interest was repaid.
Facing Boss Icey’s unwavering composure in the face of a dozen ruthless bandits, Aqua, squatting in the corner worrying, was dumbfounded.
No, who is the creditor? Who is the debtor?
Why can you be so confident when borrowing money?
For a moment, Aqua felt like she had opened the door to a new world.
Higuma didn’t speak, just stared coldly at Boss Icey.
“I heard Boss Icey has a beautiful distant relative here. I’m just curious and want to take a look,” he said, his tiny pupils turning slightly and falling on Aqua, who was not far away.
Aqua suddenly felt like she was being stared at by a poisonous snake with goosebumps all over her body.
Seeing Boss Icey’s silence, Higuma stared at Aqua, then casually stroked his chin, “She does look quite attractive. I wonder if she’s enough to repay your debts at the underground trading post?”
In the chaotic world of pirates, especially in countries that couldn’t afford Celestial Gold and weren’t protected by the World Government, beauty, talent, and even simply living could become a sin, being squeezed dry of all the value that could be exchanged for money like an animal.
Higuma knew he couldn’t deal with Boss Icey, who wasn’t afraid of death, so he turned his attention to Aqua.
Using this as a threat to ultimately achieve the goal of endlessly collecting high-interest payments.
However, what Boss Icey said next shocked Higuma greatly: “To be honest, it’s not quite enough.”
“Damn you, Boss Icey, what do you mean not quite enough? You’re blaspheming the majesty of the goddess! If this were in the divine realm, you’d face punishments more terrifying than hell!”
Enraged, Aqua conveniently “defended” her values.
Seeing the eccentric and crazy beauty who spoke like a god, Higuma’s mouth twitched slightly.
It seemed like she wouldn’t fetch these goods at a good price at all…
Thinking that Boss Icey was his first step in trying to pursue high-interest loans, Higuma ultimately suppressed his violent temper and let out a deep Higuma.
“Whether it’s enough or not, Boss Icey, you remember well, if you can’t come up with the interest next month, everyone in this restaurant will die!”
Leaving behind this vicious threat, Higuma waved his hand and left with the bandits.
“Let’s go, brothers, it’s rare that today is a good day. Let’s go to the bar across the street and have a good drink!”
They had been tortured by several days of heavy rain, with no place to relax except coming to the village.
This was their main purpose for coming down the mountain this time; Boss Icey’s place was just a side trip.
As the bandits gradually walked away, Aqua, who had been publicly humiliated, finally exploded, rushing over and grabbing Boss Icey’s collar to shake him hard.
“Boss Icey, you look carefully, I am a goddess, an extremely noble goddess!”
“Ah yes, yes.”
Boss Icey turned his head to the side, trying not to let the goddess’s clear saliva splash on his face.
Wait a minute?
What did Higuma just say?!
Suddenly realizing some important information, he couldn’t care less about Aqua’s harassment and abruptly sat up from his chair.
The Red Hair Pirates, who had been sailing for about ten days, happened to return to Windmill Village this morning as a temporary base.
They had just had a simple breakfast at the restaurant in the morning and were now celebrating their harvest at the bar in Makino’s.
To welcome Shanks, Luffy didn’t come to the store as usual.
This happened frequently, and Boss Icey didn’t pay much attention.
But now, with Higuma and the bandits, it was different.
Higuma, Shanks, Luffy…
These plot characters that ran through the original storyIceye were about to meet in the bar in Makino’s!
“No way, could it be…”
Unconsciously, Boss Icey’s breathing became rapid.
“Even if you realize your mistake deeply, this goddess won’t forgive you easily!”
“At least three meals, no, five fried rice dishes, before I can feel your apology!”
Aqua, confused by his words and actions, still wants to take advantage of the situation by extorting a few meals.
“It doesn’t matter how many, Aqua, come on, let’s go check out the situation at the bar!”
Without hesitation, Boss Icey jumped off his chair and quickly left the restaurant.
Although Aqua didn’t understand what had happened, she followed him out with a puzzled expression.
When they arrived at the diagonally opposite Makino’s bar, many villagers were already gathered outside on the street.
The door, covered by two wooden boards, couldn’t block the noise inside.
“A mere bottle of wine wants to dismiss me? What do you take me for?!”
Accompanied by the sound of shattering wine bottles, the arrogant and overbearing shouts of the bandit Higuma echoed out.
“What qualifications do you useless pirates, who only drift on the sea, have to drink? Look carefully, I am a wanted bandit with a bounty of eight million!”
“Useless guys like you, I’ve already taken down fifty-six of them!”
The surrounding villagers looked horrified, afraid that the pirates and bandits inside would suddenly start fighting.
The result was beyond their expectations. Faced with the brazen provocation of the bandits, the group of pirates stood quietly in place, showing no “courage” to confront the bandits.
Head-on.
“Since you want to clean up so badly, I’ll let you clean up enough!”
Clang!
The sharp sound of blades shattering the wine bar counter resounded, and fragments of glass and liquor spilled all over the floor.
“What a bad luck, being washed away by big water every day is bad enough, and even the wine is drunk up by you useless pirates.”
Higuma looked down from above inside the bar, his tiny eyes full of disdain.
He felt extremely bored, watching the boss of the pirates being scared out of his wits, only daring to pick up glass shards from the ground.
“Let these trash pick up the garbage properly. Boys, let’s go!”
Amidst the mocking laughter of the bandit lackeys, Higuma pushed open the wooden door of the bar.
With an air of swagger, they left Windmill Village in great numbers.
