One Piece My Partner is Too Crooked - Chapter 59
On a small island, winding dirt roads extend from low to high amidst dense forests.
At its end is a raised peak, where a two-story brick building stands surrounded by lush trees, highly concealed.
At the top of the building, a pirate flag with a black cat emblem flutters in the sea breeze.
“Jango, is everything arranged?”
Crowe, wearing a black cape of the pirate captain, sits at the head, casually resting his hands on his knees.
“According to your instructions, the traps on the island have been set up, and ambush points have been arranged with corresponding manpower.”
“As soon as that guy Mos lands on this island, what awaits him will be a blow comparable to hell!”
Wearing heart-shaped glasses, Jango adjusts his hat, the sharp iron rings on his body emitting a clinking sound as they rub against each other.
“Very well, if someone wants to take my head for promotion, let’s see if you have the ability, Colonel Mos.”
Crowe nods satisfactorily, habitually raising his arm and lightly pushing the glasses on his nose.
Seeing Crowe’s gesture, Jango and the cat-human brothers instinctively swallow nervously, their expressions tense.
They are very aware that when their captain makes this move, it means he wants to kill someone!
Colonel Mos is scheming to eliminate the Black Cat Pirates, who also want to deal with this Navy. The two parties, who have engaged in dirty dealings, are ultimately headed towards mutual slaughter.
According to the plot following the original, it is obvious that Colonel Mos, who has been inserted with Crowe’s intelligence, will suffer a disastrous defeat in this battle and may even lose his life.
Perhaps it is because of this event that the ruthless Crowe begins to tire of the pirate life of hiding and seeks to seize the legacy of the Kaya family.
The normal development of the plot should be like this, but now, the sudden appearance of Icey will make the struggle between the Navy and the pirates even more complex and troublesome!
“Have you found out what the Sacred Fruit from Fos Town is?
The reflective lenses obscure Crowe’sCrowe’s eyes, and it’s hard to tell his expression.
“We found out. It’s not what we expected, not an heirloom of high value.”
Speaking of this, Jango’s emotions become excited and joyful, “But its price far exceeds that of an heirloom. It’s a Devil Fruit worth at least a hundred million berries even in the underground black market!”
“A Devil Fruit?” Crowe raises an eyebrow.
As a pirate who has made a name for himself in the weakest East Blue, he has naturally heard of these miraculous fruits that grant special abilities when eaten.
“Heh heh, what luck! I didn’t expect that something grabbed casually would be such a treasure!”
Thinking of the value of the Devil Fruit, even the cold-blooded Crowe can’t help but smile faintly, emitting a soft laugh.
Just as he stands up to study the so-called Devil Fruit, a pirate brother responsible for guarding the coast rushes in hurriedly.
“Captain Crowe, it’s bad! When the brothers were observing the sea, they found a ship sailing straight towards us!”
The sudden situation startles Jango and the other executives, and Crowe’s gaze suddenly turns cold.
“Is it Colonel Mos’s Navy ship? Damn it, according to the intelligence provided by the informant, weren’t they supposed to arrive here in half an hour? Did you mistake them for something else?” Jango tightens the cloak hanging with iron rings.
“No, it’s not the Navy; it’s the sea restaurant we encountered yesterday!”
The brother sweats profusely on his forehead, feeling extremely nervous under the stern gaze of Captain Crowe, speaking in broken sentences.
“The sea restaurant? What are they doing here?” Jango, relieved that the intelligence wasn’t wrong, asks.
Yesterday, he and the cat-human brothers stayed at this outpost and didn’t personally see Icey and his three companions.
“Interesting, if they dare to come here on their initiative without me seeking them out.”
Thinking of the over two million berries given away for nothing, Crowe chuckles coldly, gracefully putting on his ten-blade cat claws.
“Jango, stick to the original plan to deal with Mos. Buzhi and Shanmu, you come with me to greet this unexpected guest who came without notice.”
With that, he raises the pirate captain’s cloak behind him and strides out the door with steady steps.
After a brief eye contact with the named cat-human brothers, they quickly follow suit.
Left behind, Jango and the remaining Black Cat Pirate executives look at each other in silence, silently mourning for the owner of the sea restaurant.
Without exception, those who once made Captain Crowe so angry all ended up as a pile of bones!
On the other side, on the Infinite Dream, second deck.
“Are you ready, Aqua? Besides Captain Crowe of the Black Cat Pirates, the bounties of the other executives add up to about twenty million berries, so be careful.”
Looking at the silhouette of the island and the Black Cat Pirate ship moored on the shore ahead, Icey solemnly instructs Aqua.
On the one hand, it’s literal, reminding Aqua not to be careless; on the other hand, it’s to focus her attention solely on the Black Cat Pirate executives, making sure not to turn back and betray him.
“Don’t worry! It’s just troubles you can’t handle. Leave it to me!”
Confidently, Aqua summons her Goddess Staff, full of battle intent in her eyes as she looks at the island ahead:
This goddess is coming with twenty million berries and a superabundance of booze tickets!
Seeing this, Icey doesn’t say anything more, turning his head to the other side and towards King.
“King, as agreed earlier, after Aqua and I land on the island, you stay on board and wait for an opportunity. If there’s danger, evacuate in advance and come back after we’ve dealt with the pirates on the island.”
With his arms crossed, King nods heavily, the sound of the Emperor Engine becoming louder as the distance to the island decreases.
“By the way, Icey, why do you insist on having King stay on board? His fighting spirit is so high!”
Since being completely defeated by King with just two fingers, Aqua firmly believes that this man, who emerged from the wishing pool just like herself, is unbelievably strong.
At the mention, King, with an expressionless face, twitches his mouth slightly: What do you mean by high fighting spirit? It’s just my heart beating fearfully!
“Letting King participate in the battle is fine, too, if you don’t mind your bounty being snatched.”
Icey toys with the two machetes Joseph and Johnny “gave” him.
He learned some rudimentary sword techniques at Windmill Village, and later, under the guidance of the executives of the Red Hair Pirates, he barely qualifies as a novice swordsman.
As for dual-wielding and the like, he hasn’t tried it yet.
After
Setting sail, he hasn’t experienced a decent battle yet; perhaps he can use the ten-sword style of Crowe to brush up on his combat experience.
“That won’t do!”
Aqua instantly bristles, glancing up at the still expressionless King, scratching her head with a laugh, “I, I mean, protecting the ship is also a very important task; only the King can handle it with peace of mind, right!”
She fully displays her thick-skinned characteristics.
In the time it takes to talk, the Infinite Dream has already arrived at the island’s coastline, about ten ship lengths away from the Black Cat Pirate ship!
“Aqua, let’s go.”
Icey shoulders the two large machetes and jumps down from the deck, landing steadily on the sandy beach near the island.
Following closely behind, Aqua leaps down, too.
Just as Water Goddess slips, her body swaying left and right, she struggles to stabilize her figure to avoid the embarrassing situation of falling on her face right after her debut.
Under King’s gaze, Icey and Aqua head towards the Black Cat Pirate stronghold along the dirt road.
To Icey’s surprise, before they have completed half of the journey, Crowe, carrying ten sharp blades, appears in front of them!
