One Piece My Partner is Too Crooked - Chapter 66
Cocoyasi Village, Dramonda Island
“I can’t believe there are scum like Morgan within the Navy!”
Hearing the general outline of the story, Bell-mère slammed her fist on the table.
The old wooden table cracked with a loud bang, leaving a deep dent.
Nami and Nojiko, standing nearby, were speechless.
“Not everyone is like you, Miss Bell-mère, willing to uphold justice to the end,” Icey remarked.
Even the highest rulers of this world, the Celestial Dragons, were scum. How could the lower ranks all be good?
“But it’s still unbelievable that you managed to defeat that terrifying Captain Kuro…”
Village police officer Genzo looked at Icey with a mix of shock and newfound respect.
While Icey and his companions were away from Cocoyasi Village, Genzo had researched the Black Cat Pirates extensively.
He learned how ruthless these high-bounty pirates were, not to mention their collaboration with the treacherous Captain Morgan.
Yet, Icey and his two companions managed to take them down, underscoring their formidable strength.
“It was just a bit of luck. These scars on my face are from that guy,” Icey said, pointing to the five knife scars on his face.
Only such minor injuries?!
Genzo and Bell-mère stared deep in thought at the small, almost healed scars.
“Mr. Icey, you plan to enter the Grand Line next, right?” Bell-mère asked suddenly.
Having been a Marine herself, she knew more than ordinary villagers.
Powerful individuals like Icey and his crew wouldn’t stay in the East Blue for long.
“That’s right. It’s been our goal since setting sail.”
Icey nodded, his eyes revealing an eagerness he couldn’t hide.
The Grand Line was the true stage of the pirate world!
“The Grand Line!!”
Nami, playing hand shadows with Aqua in the corner of the living room, couldn’t sit still. She ran over on her small legs.
“Icey, are you really going to that legendary sea? Can you take me with you? I want to draw a complete map of that place!” Her large, watery eyes were filled with longing.
For a young girl whose dream was to draw a map of the entire world, the allure of the Grand Line was irresistible!
As for its dangers and chaos, little Nami, not yet having experienced the Arlong incident, knew nothing about it.
Bell-mère, Nojiko, and Genzo were all startled by her sudden outburst.
“To draw a complete map of the world, huh? That’s quite an ambitious goal.”
Icey smiled and patted young Nami’s orange hair. “But Nami, a place like that is still too far beyond your reach.”
“That’s why I want to see it!” Nami insisted stubbornly.
She didn’t like adults patting her head as if she were a child, but strangely, she didn’t mind when Icey did it.
“Have you drawn a map of the East Blue yet?” Icey asked with a smile.
“I, I…” Nami’s face turned red with embarrassment.
She had only read about the East Blue in books and hadn’t even left Cocoyasi Village, so how could she have drawn a true map of it?
“Then try your best to draw a map of the East Blue first.”
Icey, enjoying the feel of her soft hair, ruffled her head. “Once you can do that, come find me in the Grand Line.”
“I can do it!” Nami clenched her small fists, pouting her cheeks in determination.
She looked so adorable with her serious expression.
“Then it’s a promise.” Icey withdrew his hand with a smile.
Nami nodded vigorously.
He had two unusual promises besides his promise to meet Luffy on the seas.
Wait, it was three if he included the treasure debt owed to Ace and Sabo!
As the evening approached, Icey decided to postpone their departure.
After loading the oranges and various supplies onto the ship, they spent the night in Cocoyasi Village.
The next morning, as the sun slowly rose from the east, it was time to set sail.
Bell-mère, Nami, Nojiko, Genzo, and the villagers gathered by the shore to see Icey and his crew off.
“Bell-mère, Nami, everyone, if pirates ever trouble your village again, just mention my name.”
Before leaving, Icey stood on the deck and made a promise, “I may not be famous now, but one day, my name will be known worldwide!”
“And don’t forget about me, the great goddess Aqua!” Aqua waved wildly.
King, understanding his place, silently untied the sails at the back.
As an ordinary person, he didn’t have grand ambitions. He just wanted to survive in this brutal world.
With the blessings of the Cocoyasi villagers, the Infinite Dream sailed off towards its new destination!
Icey’s primary means of enhancing his overall strength was the wishing pool and powerful companions.
So, the first priority was to obtain a Devil Fruit encyclopedia to identify the fruit from Fossa Town.
In East Blue, where Devil Fruit users were rare, the encyclopedia was scarce. Icey hadn’t heard of it in the Goa Kingdom, where Windmill Village was located.
If any place in the East Blue had such a thing, it would be Loguetown, known as the Town of Beginning and End, closest to the Grand Line and full of all kinds of people.
Counting up, the high-bounty pirates in the East Blue included Pirate Admiral Don Krieg and several unnamed pirate crews.
If he could catch these pirates and collect the bounties, his journey through the East Blue would be nearly complete.
Then, it would be time to head to the Grand Line from Loguetown, where great pirates thrived!
Before heading to Loguetown, Icey planned to wander the East Blue a bit more to gather more bounties.
His goal remained the same: to rectify the regrets in the original story.
Without Kuro’s invasion, Syrup Village remained peaceful and wasn’t on the route between Dramonda Island and Loguetown. Usopp was probably still boasting about the bravery of the sea warriors to Miss Kaya, so he wasn’t a priority.
After studying the East Blue sea chart carefully, Icey quickly set the next destination: Shimotsuki Village.
