One Piece My Partner is Too Crooked - Chapter 9
As soon as Ace and Sabo left, Luffy didn’t have the chance to explain the situation to Aqua before the restaurant’s door was kicked open from behind.
“Luffy! Is the egg fried rice ready today? I can already smell it!”
Walking in confidently, Usopp, who visited Icey’s place for a daily meal, had almost made it a routine.
“Hey? Where did this little brat come from? He looks oddly cute.”
Aqua had long emerged from the shadow of being beaten up, returning to her silly state, and she walked over, wanting to mess with Usopp’s head.
“Damn it! I’m going to be the Pirate King, not some little brat!”
Usopp stepped back, clenching his fist as he loudly declared his dream.
“Hehe, with a kid like you, dreaming of being the Pirate King.”
Aqua covered her mouth with one hand, bursting into a mocking laughter.
As a foolish goddess who could even mock low-level monsters, she had done her fair share of immoral deeds.
“Damn it, how dare you underestimate my dream!”
Usopp immediately became enraged, swinging his fist towards Aqua without hesitation.
Calmly, Aqua reached out her hand, effortlessly pressing down on his head.
Two small fists swung like windmills in the air, but they never touched Aqua’s long arms.
“Hahaha! Icey, look at this kid, he’s so amusing!”
Aqua couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
But I hope you’ll find it amusing when his Rubber Fruit ability awakens and he reaches the strongest Fifth Gear form.
Icey silently scoffed in his heart.
Wait a minute?
He suddenly remembered something.
The current Luffy hasn’t eaten the Devil Fruit yet. Does that mean I also have a chance to get this legendary fruit?
Strange thoughts emerged but were quickly dismissed by Icey’s head shake.
The Devil Fruit is either under the guard of the World Government or in the hands of the Red-Haired Pirate Crew.
In his current newbie state, thinking about snatching something from the big shots is a bit too much…
“Damn it! I’m done fighting!”
Deflated, Usopp stepped aside, sulking as he shouted to Icey, contemplating nearby, “Hey! Icey, where did this annoying guy come from?”
Before Icey could respond, Aqua, triumphant in victory, stood with her hands on her hips, arrogantly puffing out her chest.
“Remember, the one who defeated you is the incredibly noble Water Goddess residing in the Divine Realm, Lady Aqua!”
So, is bullying a child of that age something to be proud of?
Icey sighed heavily, hand to his forehead.
Opposite him, Usopp blinked his clear eyes, staring firmly at the arrogant Aqua.
After carefully recalling Aqua’s description, he burst into laughter.
“Hahaha! You still dare to laugh at me, with your looks, Shanks and them could beat ten of you!”
“Even my grandfather, that old man, never claimed to be a god, and you’re calling yourself the Water Goddess, hahaha!”
The more Usopp thought about it, the funnier it seemed, laughing madly and pounding the table.
The piercing laughter made Aqua’s mouth twitch.
As a widely respected goddess, a little brat actually laughed at her.
“Icey, you tell him, am I really the Water Goddess or not!” Aqua looked at Icey with a pout.
“Um, do you really want me to prove it?” Icey tentatively asked.
Knowing Usopp’s character, he didn’t think that helping to explain would make him believe it might even backfire.
“Mmhm!” Aqua nodded vigorously.
“Okay Usopp, she does represent the power of water as a goddess.” Icey looked at Usopp, spreading his hands helplessly.
“Hahaha!”
Sure enough, Usopp laughed even harder, rolling on the floor laughing.
“You brat!!”
Aqua’s face turned completely dark, her eyes flashing with anger. “Since that’s the case, let me show you what a real goddess looks like!”
“In this world, all my followers, obey the command of the Water Goddess Aqua…”
As Aqua raised her hands over her head, she chanted earnestly, a dazzling blue magic circle forming beneath her feet.
Whoosh!
Unidentifiable updrafts suddenly appeared out of nowhere, her blue skirt and flowing hair fluttering gently.
The dry air around began to moisten, droplets of water suspended gradually converging into streams swirling around Aqua.
With her eyes closed, she appeared holy and ethereal at this moment, truly emitting the aura of a Water Goddess!
“Wow!” Icey couldn’t help but blurt out.
He never imagined that Aqua, who wouldn’t even fight back against bandits, would care so much about a title and compete with Luffy, who was still a child.
Seeing that the magic circle summoning a flood was about to form, he quickly rushed over, interrupting Aqua’s spellcasting and knocking her to the ground.
“Idiot! What are you trying to do in my restaurant!”
“Let that annoying brat see the power of the Water Goddess!”
At first, Aqua, who was pinned down, wanted to struggle to get up, but when her gaze shifted to the opposite side and saw Usopp’s eyes sparkling like stars, she suddenly froze.
“Wow wow wow! So cool! Let’s do it again, please, do it again like before!!”
Usopp had already gotten up from the ground, leaning forward eagerly, watching Aqua.
“No problem, since you’re so sincerely requesting it, this goddess will satisfy you once.”
As she spoke, Aqua, with a triumphant look, resumed her performance.
“Hey! That’s my special skill, do you know what a special skill is? It’s something you can’t just show to anyone!” Aqua proudly pouted.
Although she said that, with gleaming eyes, she somehow pulled out two folding fans from somewhere strange, her slender waist swaying with graceful steps, fingers lightly flicking, and the closed fans “snap” open.
Two clear streams of water sprayed out from the fans, spreading like miniature fountains in the air.
As water droplets fell, faint rainbows appeared, creating a beautiful scene.
“Wow wow wow! So cool!”
Usopp was fascinated by this move, begging Aqua to do it again.
Naturally, Aqua wouldn’t refuse this brat who had just dared to look down on her; with a smug look, she performed even more enthusiastically.
At the restaurant counter, watching the two suddenly having so much fun, Icey raised his hand, wanting to say something but hesitating, feeling oddly out of place.
It seems like the serious me has become the one who doesn’t fit the picture.
