One Piece Nine Tails - Chapter 257
Some characters and items may come from the same world. For instance, there’s Demon Dragon among the characters and talismans among the items, but there haven’t been characters from the same world.
Upon reflection, it’s understandable. With so many worlds, drawing characters from the same one isn’t easy.
Maybe he should consider drawing more cards. With enough quantity, characters from the same world should appear.
He felt it was worth it. When two worlds collide, what happens next is a curiosity. Either the worlds merge, with people and objects becoming one, or the worlds collide, and people encounter another version of themselves or another world.
Such events could generate immense emotional energy for Yuan Yi, potentially more significant than any demon. This could profoundly impact the world, resulting in an unprecedented amount of emotional energy.
“Ah, it seems Roger’s situation is also coming to a head,” Yuan Yi remarked.
…
In the New World’s vast seas, Roger remained in his cabin, his Observation Haki fully active.
For years, no significant events had occurred. They adventured freely on the seas, returning to a sense of normalcy.
During these years, his Observation Haki had indeed improved.
He felt he was nearing the moment when he could comprehensively analyze everything.
However, as time passed, the curse he had been ignoring loomed more prominent in his mind.
He had to find the final island before the curse claimed his life!
He was racing against time…
Thinking this, Roger felt the negative emotions accumulating within him.
He exhaled deeply, seemingly expelling some internal pressure.
Roger slowly opened the door and stepped onto the deck.
The crew, seeing him, greeted him with smiles, appearing to ignore his curse.
After all, years had passed without incident.
Roger returned their greetings with a smile. He walked to the railing, looking out at the endless sea, feeling an immense sense of joy.
No matter what, as long as he was sailing, he felt this fulfilling joy. The sea was his destined home.
“Poor Ann, she can’t enjoy the fun of being a pirate,” Roger chuckled to himself, though he knew Ann had become a different person after their split. She had past memories, but her thinking had changed.
Perhaps Ann now found joy in being a marine?
Over the years, Ann had often led marine ships in pursuit of them.
The New World was always full of pirates. With the Black Order handling demon matters, Ann’s fame in the New World grew, becoming the only marine who posed a threat to Roger.
Recently, he’d heard the marines were preparing to give Garp arm transplant surgery, suggesting Garp would soon return to the stage.
Roger rested his hands on the railing, feeling a serene emptiness within.
The vast sea before him and his memories merged, bringing a profound sense of enlightenment and joy. He felt as light as if he could fly.
A warm feeling enveloped him as he closed his eyes.
Even with his eyes closed, the world remained clear in his “vision.” From the breeze to the sky and sea, everything was within his perception.
This included past, present, and future!
At that moment, everything flashed in Roger’s mind. Countless streams of information flooded in, overlapping images. Roger laughed heartily.
“Hahahaha! I finally did it!”
His hands, previously resting on the railing, shot up as he shouted, “Yes, I’ve reached the doorway to the final island!”
“Captain…?” Some pirates were puzzled by Roger’s outburst, while Rayleigh, the first to react, exclaimed, “Roger, did you…?”
Roger opened his eyes, seeing a clearer world, and laughed, “Yes! My Observation Ha—”
Suddenly, his pupils contracted!
The next moment, intense pain erupted from his body!
Cough!
He coughed, spitting out blood. His whole body felt like it was shattering, the intense pain nearly making him collapse. He clung to the railing, gritting his teeth.
“Roger?!”
Moments ago, the crew had shared in his joy. Now, they watched in horror as their captain suddenly collapsed. Roger fell unconscious, blood trickling from his mouth.
Nameless appeared beside Roger instantly, and Rayleigh and Jabba rushed over.
The blood at Roger’s mouth was black, as if poisoned.
Nameless looked at the unconscious Roger in confusion. “It shouldn’t be. Roger has a Shikon Jewel shard in him. Could it be…”
His expression changed as the others realized the same. Could it be the curse?
“Quick, find a doctor!” Rayleigh ordered Nameless. “Take Roger to a doctor, we’ll follow!”
Nameless nodded. With his mobility, he could reach a doctor faster than anyone. Jabba added, “There should be a World Government member country to the north with a doctor.”
No sooner had Jabba spoken than Nameless disappeared. Time was critical—they needed to determine Roger’s condition quickly.
They carried Roger to his room, laying him on his bed. Unconscious, he had at least stopped bleeding.
“…”
They stared at the prone Roger, faces grim.
The curse they had long ignored had finally struck.
Natural illness they could accept, but an orchestrated curse was another matter entirely.
“Makima won’t care about this. We need a new target,” Rayleigh said darkly. “The Ascension Altar, Tun Fo, and Demon Dragon… they’re our next targets!”
