One Piece Seat Void - Chapter 214
Dressrosa, Bullfight Arena
On the field, a man continuously defeats one opponent after another, showcasing his overwhelming strength.
In less than ten minutes, he had defeated all one hundred opponents on the field. The victorious man turned around and walked down the arena, his expression emotionless.
“Indeed, your strength is quite impressive, and you have great potential. With proper training, you could become a formidable force,” commented Locke.
Lox watched Julius’s battle and offered a somewhat favourable assessment. “Weibur, go sign up for the next round of duels,” Locke instructed Weibur without looking back.
“What? Participate in a duel. That sounds boring; I don’t want to. They’re all so weak,” replied Weibur, chomping down on a massive piece of meat, his mouth full of oil.
“Oh? Are you trying to disobey my orders?” Locke turned his head slightly to glance at him.
Weibur suddenly felt his whole body trembling. “Oh, oh! I understand now. I’ll go right away.”
Saying that, Weibur quickly rushed towards the registration area, knocking down many spectators along the way leading to a chorus of curses.
However, Weibur paid no attention to the insults. Locke’s command was more important than any insult.
With the assistance of the staff, Weibur successfully registered. He was then led backstage. As for why Locke had Weibur participate in the duels, it was simply to see how Julius would perform against Weibur’s attacks.
“Hey, look! Isn’t that Princess Scarlett?!”
“Yes, it’s Princess Scarlett! Why is she here at the bullfight arena?!”
“Quick, Princess Scarlett is here; let’s go greet her!” The surrounding spectators erupted in cheers upon seeing Princess Scarlett’s arrival. They eagerly rushed towards Scarlett.
As the Crown Princess of Dressrosa, the people deeply loved her. Princess Scarlett smiled gently and waved to the surrounding crowd as she approached Lox.
“Who is that man? Why is Princess Scarlett greeting him?” The crowd grew curious as they witnessed Scarlett bowing in greeting to Locke.
“Hello, esteemed Captain Locke of the Locke Pirates. Welcome to our Kingdom of Dressrosa,” Locke turned his head to glance at Scarlett. He answered her question even before she asked it.
Scarlett’s eyes lit up momentarily upon hearing Lox’s words, and she felt excitement. However, she quickly suppressed her emotions.
“Thank you for your visit, Captain Locke. On behalf of all the people of Dressrosa, I express our gratitude.”
“Heh, am I really so unlikable that you have to thank me just for visiting this poor country?” Lox teased with a smile.
He couldn’t remember doing anything particularly objectionable. Most of his actions were targeted at other pirates, not ordinary civilians.
“No, no, it’s not that, Captain Locke. It’s just…” Scarlett grew a bit flustered upon hearing Locke’s words.
“All right, if there’s nothing else, you may leave. I have no interest in this country,” Locke stated bluntly before Scarlett had a chance to ask her question.
Upon hearing Lox’s words, Scarlett seemed taken aback but quickly regained her composure. “Thank you for sparing your time, Captain Locke.
However, to show our appreciation, I would like to invite you to the special evening event that the Dressrosa royal family has organized in your honor. I hope you can grace us with your presence.”
Seeing Scarlett’s calm demeanour, Locke didn’t decline her invitation. “Very well, I understand. I will attend the event tonight.” With a satisfied response, Scarlett gave a slight bow and took her leave from the bullfight arena.
As Locke watched Scarlett’s departing figure, he couldn’t help but smile. “She’s indeed a fine young lady, quite courageous.”
“Hahaha, Captain Locke, do you have your eye on her? How about we snatch her away!” Lox’s waistband suddenly transformed into a small bat, perching on Locke’s shoulder as it teased.
“Ann, don’t say things that might give others the wrong idea. I’m not interested in kids. Besides, do you want to get beaten up by Ruth?” Lox glanced at the small bat on his shoulder and chuckled.
Unconsciously, Locke’s attitude had improved significantly with his increasing strength and growing number of companions.
One noticeable change was the increase in his smiles. Unlike before, when he always had a cold expression, he now enjoyed joking around.
“Oh! Sister Ruth!” Hearing Ruth’s name, the little bat Ann suddenly seemed to realize something. Its cute eyes showed a hint of fear.
It wrapped its wings tightly around itself and climbed Locke’s neck, gazing pitifully at him. “Captain Locke, you’ll protect me, right?” Seeing Ann’s pitiful appearance, Locke felt an inexplicable urge to laugh.
“Haha, don’t worry, Ruth won’t bully you. And yes, Ann, you’re indeed the cutest in the world!” Hearing Locke’s praise, Ann’s little nose visibly elongated.
It stood up proudly, its feet pointing to the sky, and confidently declared, “Hahaha, of course! I’m the cutest in the world!”
“Hiss, hiss…” Tengshe also transformed into his animal form and coiled around Locke’s waist. He watched Ann hissing in agreement.
Obviously, as Ann’s devoted little sidekick, he wholeheartedly agreed with Ann’s statement.
As Ann and Tengshe frolicked, the second match of the duels began with the enthusiastic announcer’s shout.
One hundred contestants marched onto the arena, making a grand entrance from the main gate to the massive arena.
Among the one hundred contestants, the emotionless Julius and the hulking figure of Edward Weibur stood out prominently.
Of course, when Weibur wasn’t in battle mode, he appeared to be an easy target.
Despite holding a giant childish knife in his hand.
“Ladies and gentlemen in the audience, the second match of the duel arena, which you have all been waiting for, is about to begin!”
“I hereby announce the start!”
“Ding!!!”
