One Piece Seat Void - Chapter 219
Roger led his pirate crew out of the New World and returned to the Grand Line, perplexing countless people.
As one of the former three great pirates of the New World and now known as Gol D. Roger, the fact that he led his pirate crew back to paradise left many people guessing.
However, even more unbelievable to many was that the Roger Pirates had reached the last island in the New World, Water Star Island.
Water Star Island, the last island in the New World, is surrounded by three major pirate crews: the Locke’s Pirates, the Big Mom Pirates, and the Beast Pirates. The Whitebeard Pirates also frequently sailed in the area.
Despite having to traverse waters guarded by such formidable pirates, the Roger Pirates managed to break through all obstacles and reach Water Star Island. This demonstrated the strength of the Roger Pirates.
For those who didn’t understand the situation, this was indeed perplexing. At this moment, Locke and Vesa sat under a giant tree by a campfire, trying to keep warm.
“Locke, why did we come to this island? There doesn’t seem to be anything interesting here,” Vesa said with a hint of confusion and a touch of complaint.
When Locke approached him, Vesa had been happily experimenting with various options for Weeble.
“Enough with the complaints, Vesa,” Locke poked at the fire, trying to warm his cold hands. “Don’t you wonder what might be hidden on the last island of the New World, Water Star Island, that made Roger lead the entire crew back to the first half of the Grand Line?”
Vesa glanced at the vast lake and the bright full moon in the sky. “Well, this island does seem rather desolate. But if you’re willing, Locke, wouldn’t it be more exciting to go to the true final island, Laugh Tale, rather than this false one?”
“Hmm,” Locke chuckled in response to Vesa’s comment and picked up his black military coat from the ground, wrapping it around himself. “Laugh Tale, I will go there, but not now.”
“Alright, Vesa, wait here for a while. I’m going to check over there and see what’s written on that black Poneglyph.” After saying this, Locke flew up into the sky and headed towards the giant black Poneglyph.
Vesa nonchalantly nodded in agreement and took out a notebook to continue his experiments. “Looks like Weeble’s resistance to these potions is increasing. I might need to adjust the dosage…”
Ignoring what Vesa was up to, Locke had reached the massive Poneglyph. He extended his hand to touch it, and at that moment, a flood of images entered his mind.
Once Locke had stabilized his thoughts, he looked into the images. In the images, hundreds of people in tattered clothing, appearing dishevelled and miserable, sat huddled together, crying.
Among them, a tall, muscular man with tears in his eyes, full of defiance, was wielding hammers and chisels, carving something onto a gigantic black stone tablet.
Locke approached, trying to hear what the man was saying.
“Damn it, Im! Damn the World Government! We, the D clan, will never surrender!”
“D clan…” Locke muttered as he was about to say more, but the man carving the words suddenly looked up and met Lox’s gaze. Sensing the man’s stare, Locke turned to face him as well.
And in that instant, the man burst into laughter. “Heh, hehehe, hahaha!” Locke could see that the previously sorrowful crowd looked at him curiously after the man’s laughter.
However, after laughing for a while, the man did not say anything to his fellow D clan members. Instead, he continued to carve the tablet happily. With that, the entire scene suddenly dissipated, and Locke snapped back to reality.
Locke looked up at the bright moon and reached out to touch the engraved text on the Poneglyph, even though he couldn’t understand it.
He knew that these inscriptions contained the boundless emotions of the man. “It seems it’s time to find someone who can decipher these inscriptions on the Poneglyph,” Locke whispered to himself.
He stood up, leaving the Poneglyph behind, and flew back to Vesa’s side. “Let’s go, Vesa. I’ve learned everything I needed to know. It’s time to return to Grims Island.”
Vesa looked up and, hearing Locke’s words, nodded casually. He put his notebook away and summoned a massive pink dragon sprawled across the ground, ready to take off.
Locke settled down on the dragon’s head, his legs crossed as he contemplated. As Vesa transformed into the giant dragon and took flight, clouds and wind whizzed by Locke’s ears. He gazed up at the moon.
“D… What does it really mean? The ‘D’ that the man mentioned—could it be the same ‘D’ as now? And the World Government he spoke of… is it the same as the current World Government?”
“800 years ago, during that blank century, what really happened?” Locke couldn’t help but find the situation increasingly intriguing.
“It seems like it’s getting more and more interesting,” Locke said, a faint smile on his lips.
“It’s time to learn about this missing history.” At the World Government’s headquarters, Mariejois, in the Empty Throne Chamber, a figure sitting on the enormous throne suddenly opened its eyes.
Those eyes, resembling the Sharingan from Naruto, were filled with a chilling intent.
“Who is it that is peering into that history?” A cold voice echoed in the icy chamber.
“Hmph! Regardless of who you are, daring to look into that history, I shall make sure you find no resting place in death!”
As these ruthless words echoed, the shadow on the throne slowly disappeared. When the shadow faded, the highest-ranking members of the World Government, the Five Elders, all received a message.
“O’Hara in the West Blue…” The Five Elders quickly wore robes and headed to the meeting hall.
“Summon Admiral Kong and the Commander of the CP Organization, Kizaru, to the meeting room.”
“Yes, Your Excellencies!”
