One Piece Seat Void - Chapter 223
“The New World, Grayland Island”
At this moment, Grayland Island, under the collision of Rade and Lefield, was shaking violently. The earth cracked, forming one enormous chasm after another.
Jin, Barbosa, Irida, and others quickly stepped back under the impact of their clash.
“Heh!”
“Ha!”
They both roared simultaneously as their confrontation ended with a single strike, and they charged toward each other. In the blink of an eye, they were engaged in a fierce battle.
Crimson slashes continuously shot out, creating huge fissures in the ground. Among these crimson strikes, there were also violet sword shadows competing.
Their battle perfectly demonstrated what it meant to be a fight between the world’s top swordsmen. Every clash of their longswords produced countless sword auras, cutting down everything they covered.
The terrifying battle sent shockwaves that forced Jin and the others to retreat even farther, leaving them only able to watch the duel between Locke and Lefield from the island’s edge.
“Locke doesn’t seem to be using his abilities. Is he trying to deal with Rade using just his swordsmanship?” Irida watched the battle between Locke and Lefield and spoke curiously, not having used her Gravity Devil Fruit abilities throughout the fight.
“Tsk, regardless of what Lox boss is thinking, his swordsmanship is something I think I’ll never reach in my lifetime.” Zoro, who also used a sword, looked at Locke’s effortless ability to unleash powerful slashes and spoke with pride. Even though he couldn’t achieve it, he couldn’t help but feel proud.
“This is my captain,” he thought to himself.
“Enough talking; it doesn’t matter how Locke boss deals with Rade. What’s most important now is to prevent that guy from escaping. Everyone, guard one direction on the island to prevent Rade from getting away.” Barbosa interrupted his crewmates’ conversation and gave the order.
As the chief strategist of the Locke Pirates, everyone was more than willing to listen to him, except for Locke’s commands.
“Understood.” Jin responded gravely before spreading his wings and flying off. After Jin left, the others also chose different directions to guard.
In no time, Barbosa was left alone. “These guys are all so impatient,” he sighed, taking out a Den Den Mushi from his pocket.
“Beep, beep, beep.”
“Hello, Enel, Where are you right now?” Barbosa asked as Den Den Mushi connected.
“Ah, this lord is currently above the clouds with Vinsmoke. What’s up?” Enel’s arrogant and self-assured voice came through the Den Den Mushi.
“Well, that’s good. You and Vinsmoke can handle the direction of the sky. Don’t let Rade get away.” “Alright, I know. Don’t worry.”
After saying that, Enel hung up Den Den Mushi without waiting for Barbosa to say more.
Barbosa looked at the silent Den Den Mushi and wondered what else to say. “This Enel guy, has he become even more arrogant lately?” In the sky, Enel created a white cloud and sat on it with Vinsmoke, watching the fierce battle below between Lox and Lefield.
“Locke Boss is still as strong as ever. It seems I’ll have to wait a bit longer if I want to challenge him.” Watching the exaggerated attacks of both Locke and Rade, Enel swallowed hard, filled with lingering fear.
Vinsmoke gave Enel a sidelong glance, his eyes filled with a meaning that made Enel want to explode in anger.
“Damn you, Vinsmoke, what’s that look in your eyes? Do you look down on me?” Seeing Vinsmoke’s provoking look, Enel immediately got furious.
“Hmph.” Vinsmoke took out his Black Leg spear from behind and began wiping it slowly. As he wiped it, he kept an eye on the battle below.
By now, the battle between Locke and Lefield had escalated to a white-hot climax. Lefield blocked Locke’s sword as they crossed blades, and then he swung his umbrella sword fiercely toward Locke.
However, it seemed that Locke had anticipated this move, as he dodged it perfectly, leaving Lefield to attack empty air, followed by a powerful kick to Lox’s abdomen.
“Dammit!” Lefield groaned as he lifted his leg, armed with Busoshoku Haki, to meet Locke’s kick.
“Boom!” The heavy impact forced Lefield to retreat several dozen meters.Unknowingly, Lefield had fallen behind in this battle. On the other hand, Locke remained calm and composed, just as he had been from the start.
“That guy—I can’t read his thoughts at all, and all my attacks have been predicted and evaded in advance by him. Could it be that the little brat’s Kenbunshoku Haki is stronger than mine?” Lefield’s face darkened as he glared at Lox, who had been continuously evading his attacks.
“Kenbunshoku Haki? Lefield, we’re pirates, and there’s no chivalry in a fight between pirates. Besides, I already know everything I wanted to know, so there’s no need to waste time on you.” Locke spoke calmly and then released his Tenguyama, drawing a new sword from his waist, Zangetsu.
“However, I’ll say one thing, Lefield: you are far inferior to Whitebeard, Roger, and Golden Lion!” Locke taunted Lefield.
With that, Locke held both swords in a reverse grip, and a terrifying gravitational wave emanated from the blades.
“Gravity Sword: Pursuing Wolf!”
“Awoooo!!!” Two wolves, formed from condensed gravity, roared as they charged toward Lefield.
“You little brat! Are you underestimating me!” Lefield howled in anger. His eyes were bloodshot, veins popped out on his forehead, and he tightly gripped his umbrella sword.
“Vermilion!”
“Boom!” A massive red slash instantly shattered both the wolves. However, even though their physical forms were destroyed, the gravitational impact remained.
Two gravitational forces, as if two mountains collided, struck Lefield’s chest. The tremendous force broke several of Lefield’s ribs, and the intense inertia sent him flying backward.
Blood gushed from his mouth, and he rapidly retreated. Once he was ten meters away from Locke, he suddenly half-knelt on the ground, using his umbrella sword to support himself, and gasped heavily.
Lox watched as blood streamed down Lefield’s face, and Lefield kept looking back in disbelief.
The scene before him was too shocking for Lefield to comprehend. However, Locke had no interest in explaining anything to Lefield or hearing him talk.
He transformed into a black plume of smoke and disappeared from his spot, reappearing by Lefield’s side.
His sword, emitting a bizarre red light, An, had already pierced through Lefield’s heart. Surprisingly, Lefield displayed no pain.
“It’s over, Lefield. Your pirate career ends today.”
