One Piece Seat Void - Chapter 239
Under the World Government’s banner, there are three major independent branches.
They are, respectively, the Marine Headquarters, Enies Lobby, and the excellent prison housing countless pirate criminals, Impel Down.
And at this moment, as one of those, Impel Down, a massive riot has erupted. After Moria used freedom as a bargaining chip and uttered those words, an unprecedented riot broke out in Impel Down’s Level 6 prison.
All the pirates started fighting each other. They were like demons unchained, consuming any perceived enemies. The entire Level 6 prison was reduced to only the most muscular inmates in each cell.
Covered in blood, they stood in their cells, staring at Moria, waiting for him to fulfill his promise. Moria looked at those formidable individuals, smiled mischievously, and walked over with the keys.
“Hehehe, I’ll fulfill my promise and set you free, granting you your freedom.”
“Of course, if anyone is willing to join our Locks Pirates, you can stay here and follow me.”
“If someone doesn’t want to join, they’re free to leave, and I won’t stop them.” Moria slowly opened all the prison doors. In total, there were thirty-two cells, and only twelve individuals remained.
These twelve people undoubtedly had the power to destroy a large city with ease single-handedly. At their peak, each of them possessed strength no weaker than Moria or even stronger.
“Hey, Moria, what era is it in the world today?” One of the blood-covered men asked Moria with a calm gaze.
“Hehehe, it’s 1498, the beginning of a new era.” Moria answered the man’s question with a mischievous grin. This man gave Moria a terrifying feeling. Even though he had been in the dark, lightless cells for years, he still exuded a dreadful aura.
“New era? Oh, by the way, is that Locks guy you’re talking about? Is it the same Locke?” The man mumbled softly, then asked Moria with interest.
He had lived in the era when Gol D. Roger, also known as “Locke D. Gibeck,” ruled the seas. But after a fierce battle with a formidable opponent, he was captured by the Marines and imprisoned in Impel Down.
“Hehehe, my captain is not the same as that arrogant Gol D. Gibeck. My captain, Locke, is even more charismatic and possesses the strength to rival the world’s strongest. He’s a man destined to become the Pirate King!”
Moria proudly proclaimed to everyone present. However, this only elicited mockery from the others. “Heh, kid, don’t get too arrogant. Gol D. Gibeck, the former Pirate King, becoming that arrogant and self-centered guy you mentioned? I think you’re the ones who are.”
An older man, leaning on his cane, sneered at Moria. Having once clashed with Gol D. Gibeck, the former Pirate King, during his reign, he was well aware of the man’s strength.
“Hmph! This is the first I’ve heard of this Gibeck! Moria, I’m willing to join your Locke Pirates.” While the older man was mocking Moria and Locks, a man in his early twenties, tall and heavily scarred, walked over to Moria decisively.
“I’m Wembek, once with a bounty of 540 million Berries. I’ve seen the news of Locks defeating Gold Lion Siki and Redfield.” Moria sized up the man and then nodded in agreement.
“Hehehe, good. On behalf of Captain Locks, I agree. Are there any others?” In no time, the twelve individuals divided into two factions. Some chose to join the Locks Pirates, while others decided not to.
The four who joined were Wembek, aged 28, a Paramecia-type Lizard Lizard Fruit user; Bruce, aged 35, a Paramecia-type Penetrating Penetrator Fruit user; Yeru, an ancient Zoan-type, a Tyrannosaurus Fruit user. And the man who had inquired about the year.
Gees, aged 47, a Paramecia-type Shatter Shatter Fruit user, once with a bounty of 1.145 billion Berries. Moria looked at the four with a warm smile. He took heaps of food from his shadow space and shared them with the recruits, allowing them to feast.
They dug in without reservation, enjoying a hearty meal they hadn’t had in a long time. The rest who chose not to join but temporarily cooperated to escape Impel Down couldn’t help but watch with envy as the others devoured the food.
They refrained from trying to seize any food out of respect for Moria and Gees’ strength. Moria chuckled and again took out plenty of food from his shadow space to share with them.
“Hehehe, since we’ve shared a cell, it’s fate. Let’s eat heartily, and then let’s create a ruckus here!”
“Grrr! Moria, you’re quite generous!”
“Gugugu, Moria, I like you. I owe you a favor. If we make it out alive, you can find me if you need help on the open seas!” In no time, both piles of food disappeared, and everyone, having eaten to their heart’s content, was ready to wreak havoc.
Moria retrieved several keys from his shadow space and handed them to Gees and the others. “Hehehe, these keys are for you. They’re master keys that can open any cell. When you escape, unlock all the cells and release the prisoners inside. Let’s make a big mess of this place!”
“Oh! Could you leave it to us? Gugugu!” With the keys in hand, they joyfully rushed out to free the prisoners in the upper cells.
At this point, only Moria and five others remained in the same place, along with the older man who had mocked Moria earlier.
“Kid, what exactly are your Locks Pirates aiming for here?” The older adult asked Moria curiously. He couldn’t believe that Locke Pirates would risk sending a high-ranking member to Impel Down to gather some subordinates or create chaos.
Moria smiled mischievously at the older man. “Curious, aren’t you? I can’t tell you now, but only our comrades will know. So, how about it? Do you want to join us?”
The older man glanced deeply at Moria, then turned and walked away, heading to the upper floors. Moria watched as everyone left, leaving only him and his companions, and then burst into laughter.
He looked at Gees, Yeru, Wembek, Bruce, and the others. “All right, now, let’s execute the plan of our Locke Pirates.”
“In this Level 6 prison, most of these guys must be Devil Fruit users!” She was saying that Moria pulled out numerous fruits with peculiar patterns from his shadow space.
“Hehehe, these are special fruits that our Locks Pirates’ chief scientist, Bega Punk, has modified.” Moria piled the fruits together and sat down cross-legged, waiting patiently.
Before their astonished eyes, in no time, ten or so fruits slowly began to change, eventually transforming into individual Devil Fruits.
“What… What is this?!” The people were astonished and looked at Moria in disbelief.
“Hehehe, no need to be so surprised. This is just one of the many items our Locke Pirates’ chief scientist invented.”
“Believe me, joining our Locke Pirates is the wisest choice of your life.”
“Well, we can only collect these on this level. Let’s go upstairs. I’m sure those guys have already turned the city upside down! Hehehe!” Moria gathered all the fruits into his shadow space and then led the others toward the upper floors.
At this moment, as Moria had described, the entire Impel Down was in utter chaos, stirred up by the actions of those few individuals.
