One Piece Seat Void - Chapter 242
New World, Grimsy Island of the Hundred Flowers
Having completed their mission, Moria led the group of five, including Gis, Wenbeke, Bruce, Yeru, and Shilu, back to their headquarters. The massive dining hall was filled with noisy chatter. Jin leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching the others indulge in their meal.
“Hey, kid, stop standing there and join us if you’re hungry!” Gis quipped, casting a glance at Jin.
“Uh, yeah, sure. I’ll join you,” Jin responded. “Honestly, the food here is surprisingly delicious!” Yeru continued to devour various dishes, his mouth stuffed to the brim. He spoke between bites, “It’s truly a rare treat. It seems like betraying the government and joining your pirate crew was the right choice.”
Shilu, with a cigar between his lips, exhaled smoke rings as he laughed. “But, you know, the food here really is delicious!” However, his sinister, bloodthirsty gaze remained fixed on Jin, and his hand rested on the long knife at his waist, itching for action.
On the other hand, Wenbeke and Bruce said nothing, focusing on savoring their delectable dishes. Jin bowed coldly, looking at Gis, Yeru, and Shilu. “I’m not interested in having a meal with a group of former failures.”
As Jin’s words fell, an instant wave of tension filled the entire dining hall. While Moria brought back these individuals from the sixth level of Impel Down, who were undoubtedly powerful, Jin still couldn’t trust them. He had no intention of introducing any unstable elements into the pirate crew that might jeopardize Rock’s ambitions.
“Hey, kid, when I was roaming the seas, you were probably still playing in the mud!” Gis said with a sly grin as he walked toward Jin.
An invisible aura continuously emanated from Gis, filling the entire restaurant. Jin stared at Gis coldly, emanating an equally powerful aura, and their auras clashed intensely.
“Hmph! I still haven’t completely trusted you guys. Don’t do anything that harms the interests of the Rock’s Pirates, or I’ll take you down!” Jin’s voice was icy as he uttered these words.
“Hey, kid, I heard you’re one of the three Phantoms of the Rock’s Pirates, which means you’re one of the strongest three, right?” Gis gazed cruelly at Jin as if ready to strike.
Flames blared behind Jin, igniting ferociously. His eyes were filled with bloodshot veins. “If you have the guts, give it a try!”
“Ha, that’s what I wanted to hear!” Gis laughed heartily and launched a powerful palm strike towards Jin. Unsurprisingly, Jin countered Gis’s sudden attack with a powerful punch of his own.
Boom! Their fists collided, and the entire space trembled, sending shockwaves across the restaurant. Plates shattered, and small cracks formed on the walls. Wenbeke, Yeru, Shilu, and Bruce remained seated calmly, unfazed by the tumult. They continued to enjoy their meals as if the waves of force did not affect them.
Wenbeke glanced at Jin and Gis, then continued eating calmly. “Hehe, these two guys have quite some strength,” Yeru said with a grin, watching with keen interest as he finished his meal.
“Indeed, they are strong. It would be quite interesting to fight against such powerful opponents,” Shilu licked his lips, revealing a cruel smile. Bruce and Wenbeke, however, remained composed, savoring their food with indifference.
It appeared that nothing happening in the room concerned them. All they saw was the food. After they exchanged blows, Jin and Gis had a better understanding of each other’s strengths.
“Hey, kid, you’re young, but your strength is impressive. However, if this is all you’ve got, I’ll gladly take your place as one of the Three Phantoms!” Gis withdrew his palm, and a golden aura surrounded it. Sensing the impending danger, Jin quickly dodged Gis’s attack.
Boom! The wall behind Jin disintegrated under Gis’s powerful strike, turning into countless fragments. Jin looked at the remnants of the wall and the garden beyond it, his eyes cold.
The once beautiful garden, filled with vibrant flowers, had become a barren wasteland, destroyed by the force of Gis’s attack. “Heh, kid, you dodge pretty well. But, by avoiding and dodging, you won’t be able to defeat me.” Gis chuckled and extended his hand, coated with the power of destruction, once again targeting Jin.
Jin realized that evasion was not the solution. The flames behind him burned fiercely, transforming into a roaring and ferocious fire dragon. “Fire Dragon Sovereign!”
Roar! Boom! The fire dragon and Gis’s palm collided powerfully. However, at the moment of impact, the fearsome fire dragon disintegrated into nothingness, vanishing into the air.
Having unleashed his attack, Jin didn’t follow up and just calmly watched Gis. Gis, too, didn’t make any further moves. He maintained his lingering smile. “I acknowledge you, Gis. But I don’t want you to do anything that harms our pirate crew in the future.”
Jin spoke coldly and left the dining hall. As he watched Jin’s departure, Gis followed his retreating figure with keen interest. “Heh, who would’ve thought there were survivors of that race? How interesting.” Gis chuckled and whispered before returning to his table to continue his meal.
Shilu’s gaze flickered as he observed Gis, his eyes filled with a desire for battle. It seemed he had sensed Shilu’s battle intent, but Jin merely glanced in his direction.
“Kid, your strength is not bad, but you’re still too weak. I have no interest in bullying someone as weak as you,” Gis remarked teasingly.
“Heh, your words are rather irritating,” Shilu responded, his expression gradually turning sinister. However, he quickly regained his composure.
“But you’re right. I’m not as strong as you are now. But believe me, I’ll catch up to you soon. You’d better be ready to fight me when that time comes.”
“Heh, I’m looking forward to that, Shilu,” Gis said with a hint of anticipation. Soon, the entire dining hall returned to its calm state, with only the sounds of the remaining diners enjoying their meals. Wenbeke and Bruce exchanged glances, their lips curving into a barely noticeable smile.
