One Piece Seat Void - Chapter 270
New World, Diego Island, is a place that experiences heavy snowstorms year-round. A massive red dragon-headed ship is anchored in the sea. Hanging from the mast of the ship is a black flag with a white background, featuring two crossed long swords and three scars on the left eye.
Anyone who sees this pirate flag would immediately feel terror because it belongs to a newly emerged, mighty rookie pirate crew on the Grand Line. Though they have only been established for a year, they’ve defeated several long-established pirate crews in the New World. Every one of them possesses monstrous and fearsome strength.
They are known as the Red-Hair Pirates. Deep within the island, inside a massive bear den, Shanks and his crew are gathered around a campfire for warmth. “Whew, it’s freezing! Older man, why did you choose such a place to explore? Nothing is exciting here!” One of them complains.
He’s a huge bald man with deep black circles under his eyes and no eyebrows, and he has a monkey perched on his back. His name is Benn Beckman, one of the top officers of the Red Hair Pirates, known for his terrifying strength.
“Don’t complain. We just fought a massive brown bear,” Shanks replies. Shanks, who is taller than the rest and wears sunglasses with a distinctive red dragon tattoo on his neck, is one of the Red Hair Pirates’ top officers. His wisdom is as profound as his strength.
“Enough complaining, Benn. I’ve been feeling restless lately. Old man, let’s leave here and cause some chaos!” Another crew member, Deigo, exclaims He has a scar on his forehead and ties his hair back, and he’s known for his fiery temper and love for fighting.
“Yeah! Deigo’s right. We need some action. I haven’t had a good brawl in a while!” another one chimes in. He has sharp teeth and long brown hair and is named Gabu, known for his roars.
“Alright, enough, everyone! The New World is a turbulent place. We need to be careful. A single wrong move can lead us to the depths of the sea,” Shanks warns.
“Haha, Benn, what do you think is happening in the sea that has Shanks and the old man so serious? The way they’re acting isn’t simple,” another crew member, Lucky Rou, who is obese and carries a piece of meat, asks curiously.
“Beats me. But who cares? As long as we don’t provoke anyone, it’s all good, right?” Yasopp, holding a gun and wiping it down, responds. Shanks looks at the flames, deep in thought, seemingly oblivious to his crew’s discussions. After a while, he finally looks up at his comrades.
“Brothers, get ready to set sail!” The rest of the Red-Hair Pirates exchange glances and follow Shanks as he walks out of the cave. Beckman hurries up to Shanks and asks, “Are you planning to meet that man, Shanks?” Shanks turns to Beckman and smiles. “Yes, Beckman, I do intend to meet him. Do you think I can stop him?”
Beckman looks at Shanks and, after a moment, shakes his head. “Shanks, even though you say you were once friends, if that man is determined to do something, you can’t stop him. And given the difference in our strength and status, he might not even bother to meet us.”
Shanks chuckles, “Beckman, believe me, he will meet me. While I may not be able to stop his plans, I’ll do everything I can to delay him. After all, Captain Roger once said, ‘It’s not the right time.’ I believe he’ll give me some respect.” With that, Shanks doesn’t say more and leaves for the port.
Beckman shakes his head, understanding that this meeting with that man won’t be peaceful. “It seems that this meeting won’t be peaceful,” he mutters as he gazes at the snowy white sky.
In the New World, Grimms Island, all the original members and officers of the Locks Pirates gather to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the crew’s formation. As they enjoy the party, sharing laughter and stories, the atmosphere is lively and cheerful. They talk about their adventures and experiences over the past decade.
Moriah shares a secret with Zoro: “Haha, Zoro, I heard you’ve been doing well lately. So, what’s the news? Did you get your hands on any treasures? Come on, share it with me.”
Moriah takes a cupcake and munches on it, looking sly. “I didn’t find any treasure, just an interesting fellow. He’s a true master of stealth—the kind of stealth that not even observation Haki can detect.”
Zoro, the man with black, medium-length hair, two red tattoos on his left shoulder, and a cigarette between his fingers, looks at Moriah and responds, “Hah, that guy is something. His mastery of stealth is second to none. I’ll introduce you to him after the party.” Laughing deviously, they share a secret bond.
Irrida and Barrett sit together, toasting their drinks. Barrett comments, “Hey, Barrett, you’re getting stronger by the day. Back in the day, we could spar evenly, but now, I can’t even compare to your strength.”
Barrett pats Irrida’s back, teasing him for his artificial enhancements. “Haha, quit the nonsense, Irrida. You’ve been perfectly modified by Dr. Vegapunk. Your strength is terrifying, and I’m well aware of it.”
The party continues, filled with merriment. After some time, as the party approaches its end, Locks, their captain, stands up and looks at all his comrades.
