One Piece Seat Void - Chapter 281
In New World, Kelandt Sea, the massive Moby Dick, has floated quietly on the surface of the sea. The Conqueror’s ship sailed slowly from a distance.
“Dad! Locke has requested a meeting with us!” The lookout on the Moby Dick saw the blinking lights on the Conqueror’s ship and quickly informed Whitebeard below.
“Arr, lads, be prepared to meet Locke!” Whitebeard laughed heartily and issued a warning to his sons. “Those who aren’t mentally prepared should keep their distance, and young ones won’t be able to handle it!” Marco warned those who were unaware.
“Young ones? Captain Marco, what do you mean by ‘won’t be able to handle it’?” Just as Marco was about to explain, the two ships had already come together, and Lox stepped onto Moby Dick’s gangway with a massive sake gourd.
The moment his foot touched the gangway, an invisible aura spread out. With each step Lox took, many unsuspecting pirates on the ship began to foam at the mouth and collapse on the deck, their eyes rolling white.
Seeing their comrades suddenly faint, others panicked. “Hey! What’s going on with you guys?”
“Doctor! Come over here, and these guys suddenly passed out! What’s happening?!”
Marco scolded his panicked comrades “As I said, anyone who wasn’t mentally prepared should keep their distance, and young ones won’t be able to handle it!”
Jozu, standing behind him, looked at Locke, who was getting closer and couldn’t help but marvel.
“He’s getting stronger and stronger, Locke.”
“Those who aren’t mentally prepared don’t even have the qualifications to stand before him; that’s the man they call the Emperor of the Sea.” Finally, Locke’s foot landed on Moby Dick’s deck.
A terrifying aura emanated from him, instantly cracking the ship’s rails on both sides.
All the pirates on Moby Dick couldn’t help but swallow hard. “Hey, Locke, you just boarded our ship and damaged our railings; that’s impolite.” Marco, with his arms crossed, spoke coldly to Locke.
Locke looked at Marco, a smile playing on his lips. “Oh, isn’t this the First Division Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, Marco the Phoenix? How about it? Do you want to join my crew?”
“Quit fooling around, Locke!” Marco directly refused Lox’s invitation.
“Well, it’s a shame; I quite admire you.” With a smile, Locke ignored Marco and walked towards Whitebeard, sitting on a throne not far away.
Soon, Locke stood before Whitebeard, looking at the giant with his tall figure and long, golden, wavy hair.
“Ah, Whitebeard, it’s been a long time.” Saying that, Locke opened the sake gourd, filled a large bowl for himself, and then tossed the giant gourd to Whitebeard. Whitebeard caught the gourd and smelled the alcohol inside.
“Aha, good wine indeed. Locke, you little devil, it has been quite a while indeed. It’s been a few years, and the little devil from back then has become a pirate who dominates the seas.” Whitebeard sighed as he kicked the empty gourd away, his voice tinged with emotion.
“Indeed, but if it weren’t for your help in the Battle of Marineford all those years ago, I might have fallen in that battle.” Locke recalled that battle, and a gentle smile graced his face.
“Aha, you little devil, how do you plan to repay the person who saved you?” Whitebeard, too, smiled and looked at Locke. Locke slowly raised his wine bowl and drank deeply. In no time, the wine in the giant bowl was consumed. Wiping his mouth casually, Locke looked at Whitebeard.
“Newgate, it’s because I still owe you that I came here to meet you in person.” Locke’s face no longer bore a smile; it had turned serious.
“Whitebeard, your dream of adventuring on the sea with your family does not conflict with my goals.”
“So, I hope you will temporarily leave the New World with your sons. As you know, my goal is this world, and conquering the entire New World is a necessary step.”
“Arr, well, Locke, you can’t expect me to leave the New World that easily!” A rising wind followed Whitebeard’s words. As his words fell, the once calm sea began to churn with surging waves, and thick, dark clouds soon covered the clear sky.
“Well, as I expected, it won’t be easy to get you to leave the New World. So let’s settle this with our strength.” Locke slowly drew the sword from his waist, a white blade with a crimson glow, and the edge was pulled from its sheath.
As the longsword continued to unsheathe, Locke’s aura grew stronger. “Arr, let me see if, after all these years, you have the power to challenge the World Government.”
Whitebeard drew the great sword beside him, a giant quick cutlass, and slashed at Locke.
“Heh, well then, let’s see if, after all these years, you have the qualifications to challenge the World Government!”
Boom! The longsword and the quick cutlass clashed mid-air, causing black lightning to surge and invisible shockwaves to spread violently. The thick black clouds in the sky were split in two as if cleaved apart.
