One Piece Shadow Army - Chapter 13
Behind Yulong, a short and stout black figure suddenly leaped up, aiming a massive fist at Yulong’s head.
This figure was none other than the shadow soldier:
[Adun]!
While Curls’ Shadow Shield was sturdy, enduring continuous strikes was not a viable strategy. So he summoned the shadow soldier to launch a surprise attack from behind Yulong.
Yulong was clad in extensive iron armor, rendering ordinary attacks ineffective. The only exposed weak point on his body was his head.
Initially, [Adun] aimed for the back of Yulong’s head, but Yulong turned, causing the attack to land on his side, full of thick muscle.
The next moment, the punch slightly deformed Yulong’s huge face, and blood gushed from his nose.
“That hurts!”
Yulong’s beast-like eyes reddened with blood, and he paused his assault. Then, he turned his fist towards [Adun]!
Boom!
With a powerful punch, Yulong shattered [Adun]’s form, turning him into a shadow and making him disappear.
Curls didn’t show much disappointment because he hadn’t expected much from the beginning. After all, Yulong had a bounty of ten million berries.
Defeating him easily was unrealistic.
Seeing their captain’s strength, the morale of the Giant Fist Pirates surged. Their captain was formidable.
Curls glanced at the fallen pirates on the deck and gave the long-awaited command.
“Rise up!”
Over the past two months, he had significantly improved his proficiency with the Shadow Fruit, now able to summon up to twenty shadow soldiers.
This meant he could now summon more shadow soldiers to fight.
To the astonishment of both pirates and marines, one by one, dark shadows rose from the corpses of the recently fallen pirates.
New shadow soldiers formed!
Yulong snorted disdainfully, “Playing tricks!”
“Why don’t you find out?”
Curls smirked.
The previously shattered [Adun] and other summoned shadow soldiers reappeared.
“Attack!”
At Curls’ command, all the shadow soldiers rushed towards Yulong.
Facing these bizarre enemies, Yulong showed no fear. His face, full of muscle, was brimming with fighting spirit.
“Come on! I’m the captain of the Giant Fist Pirates, with a ten-million-berry bounty. Let’s see who can kill me!”
Boom!
Ordinary shadow soldiers couldn’t withstand Yulong’s heavy punches and were shattered instantly.
But the greatest trait of shadow soldiers was their immortality. Though broken, they would reform and charge at Yulong again.
Curls waited patiently, engaging Yulong in a war of attrition.
Yulong’s immense size, formidable strength, and the iron armor he wore made him a less formidable version of “Don Krieg.”
However, while Krieg relied on extensive armor and weaponry, Yulong depended solely on his unique physique and strength. This also revealed his biggest weakness: the larger the body, the greater the energy consumption.
Curls needed only to wait for Yulong’s energy to deplete to defeat him easily.
Realizing the trouble posed by these seemingly unkillable shadow soldiers, Yulong shouted at his pirates.
“What are you waiting for?”
“Get over there and kill that marine!”
Following their captain’s orders, the observing pirates attacked Curls.
But the marines, under Kahn’s command, clashed with the pirates again, initiating another wave of battle.
For a while, the deck of the Giant Fist Pirates’ ship was engulfed in chaotic combat between marines and pirates.
…
Ten minutes later.
Sensing his energy was severely drained, Yulong stopped holding back. His right fist surged with power, and he launched a fierce attack.
“Impact Punch!”
Boom!
A massive force emanated from his fist, shattering all the shadow soldiers charging at him.
Momentarily, the area cleared.
Though Yulong seemed outwardly savage, he had patiently observed the shadow soldiers. He noticed they could regenerate but took varying amounts of time to do so.
The more thoroughly destroyed, the longer they took to recover.
Under his Impact Punch, it would take at least ten breaths for the shadow soldiers to reform.
That time was enough to kill the marine!
However, as Yulong looked at Curls, he noticed the marine was smiling.
“Hey, look over there!”
Yulong turned in confusion to see a shadow soldier standing behind a cannon, the fuse already lit.
As Yulong’s eyes widened in realization, a cannonball shot out!
Boom!
The cannonball exploded on the pirate ship, halting everyone around as they watched the blast’s epicenter.
As the smoke cleared, Yulong’s slightly battered figure emerged.
Despite the iron armor, a direct cannon hit had inflicted severe injuries.
Yulong went berserk, his eyes gleaming with a murderous glint, and he roared in fury.
“Damn it! I’ll tear you apart!”
Yulong charged at Curls at full speed, relaunching his ultimate move.
“Impact Punch!”
Kahn’s expression turned serious, gripping his sword tightly. If Curls couldn’t block the attack, he would intervene.
Facing the raging Yulong, Curls decided not to hold back and coldly commanded.
“Shadow Bind!”
In an instant, shadows beneath Yulong surged, binding his massive form like tendrils, immobilizing him.
Simultaneously, Curls manipulated the shadow energy to form a spear in his hand and hurled it with force.
“Shadow Knight’s Lance!”
The clear sky watched over the critical moment of the battle between the pirate ship and the marine patrol ship.
The dark shadow spear shot out like a rocket, piercing through Yulong’s attack and striking his chest.
Yulong’s enormous body collapsed, causing the pirate ship’s bow to rock violently.
Blood flowed from his chest, pooling on the deck.
Yulong, the captain of the Giant Fist Pirates, was dead!
In this battle, Curls used three of his developed skills.
“Shadow Bind” could control and immobilize the opponent’s shadow.
The main offensive move was the powerful “Shadow Knight’s Lance,” while the defensive technique was “Shadow Shield.”
As a reincarnator, Curls had many ideas for developing fruit abilities, but having too many moves wasn’t ideal. The best moves were those that maximized his strength at the current stage.
These three moves, combined with his physical and sword skills, allowed him to exert his maximum combat power. Thus, during his recruit period, he didn’t waste time developing flashy techniques.
After confirming Yulong’s death, the remaining pirates surrendered, realizing resisting would only mean death, while surrendering offered a slim chance of survival.
“Well done!” Kahn praised Curls, patting him on the shoulder.
Receiving Kahn’s approval, Curls felt a surge of satisfaction, knowing his strength had significantly improved.
Kahn then directed the Marines to handle the aftermath of the battle.
After a short rest, Curls approached Yulong’s lifeless body and gave the summoning command.
“Rise up!”
