One Piece Shadow Army - Chapter 20
On the ghost ship’s upper deck, as Kahn pushed open the heavy wooden door, the armored knight standing before the treasure made a subtle movement.
Behind the faceplate of his armor, a pair of deep red eyes suddenly opened within the darkness filled with necrotic energy.
“Kill!”
A raspy, low voice emanated from the knight as the cursed blade, Red Moon, in his hand emitted a faint red glow, adding to the eerie atmosphere.
Curls’ eyes widened in shock.
Still alive?
How could that be possible?
This Grand Knight had lived over a century ago. Unless he was from a long-lived race like the giants, how could he still be alive?
“Curls, stand aside. This battle is too dangerous for you.”
Kahn’s expression turned grim. He could sense the overwhelming killing intent and swordsmanship from the armored knight, akin to a ferocious beast.
This was a true sword master.
In a duel of this caliber, Kahn couldn’t guarantee Curls’ safety.
“Yes, sir!”
Curls understood his limitations and quickly stepped back without any intention of playing the hero.
At that moment, the armored knight stood up from his seated position.
In the next instant, his figure blurred as he charged at Kahn and Curls with ghostly speed.
Kahn’s expression sharpened as he met the charge head-on.
Clang!
The clash between the cursed blade Red Moon and the legendary sword Yujin created a shower of sparks.
“Lannlos?”
Kahn stared at the silver-armored knight, posing his question.
However, the blood-red eyes of the knight offered no response, only a growl.
“Kill!” “Kill!”
Kahn quickly realized that Lannlos was no longer the Grand Knight who once protected the Silver Moon Kingdom. He had become a puppet controlled by the cursed blade, driven solely by the urge to kill.
With this understanding, Kahn ceased holding back and increased the intensity of his attacks, demonstrating his exceptional swordsmanship.
As the former Grand Knight of the Silver Moon Kingdom, Lannlos’s sword skills were formidable.
The two clashed with intense ferocity, their blades ringing out in the vast empty space.
This was a duel of sword masters.
It was also a battle between a legendary sword and a cursed blade.
With a swift motion, Lannlos swung the cursed blade of Red Moon horizontally towards Kahn.
Kahn’s reflexes allowed him to dodge the strike, countering with Yujin, which struck Lannlos’s chest.
Sparks flew as the blade met the armor, leaving only a scratch without breaking through.
The toughness of Lannlos’s armor, far exceeding ordinary steel, became evident.
In retaliation, Lannlos raised the cursed blade with both hands and brought it down with a powerful strike.
Kahn quickly retreated.
Boom!
The force of Lannlos’s sword strike created a massive crack in the deck, raising a cloud of dust from the long-abandoned structure.
Dodging the shockwave, Kahn steadied his breathing before charging at Lannlos again, flames sparking along Yujin’s blade.
“Firebird Slash!”
Kahn unleashed a fiery slash that flew through the air.
As a sword master, Kahn could execute powerful ranged attacks effortlessly.
In response, Lannlos raised the cursed blade and sent out his own energy slash, this one tinged with a sinister red hue.
Boom!
The two energy slashes collided, causing a tremendous explosion within the ship.
Despite the lingering smoke, Kahn and Lannlos continued their relentless close-quarters combat.
Curls watched in awe.
He had previously thought Kahn was merely at the iron-cutting level of swordsmanship, but now he realized Kahn was a true sword master.
The current battle was beyond Curls’ ability to interfere. Lannlos’s armor alone was impenetrable to him, let alone causing any real damage.
Joining the fight would only distract Kahn and become a burden.
The best course of action was to observe and learn from the duel of sword masters.
Despite being a sword master, Lannlos was a puppet controlled by the cursed blade, lacking true intelligence.
Kahn exploited this, gradually finding weaknesses and gaining the upper hand.
However, Curls felt a growing unease.
In this battle, the cursed blade Red Moon seemed to be holding back, which was highly unusual. The blade’s infamous reputation suggested much more.
Suddenly, Curls noticed the lighting in the room growing brighter.
He looked up to see the stars through the gaps in the ship’s ceiling.
The once-hidden full moon was now emerging, its light illuminating the scene.
A chill wind blew through the windows, adding to the eerie atmosphere.
A dreadful thought struck Curls’ mind.
As if to confirm his suspicion, the cursed blade Red Moon in Lannlos’s hand began to glow intensely in the moonlight, emitting a dazzling red light.
A red aura enveloped the silver-armored knight, and Lannlos’s red eyes grew even more ferocious.
“So this is the cursed blade’s true power?”
Kahn’s expression turned serious.
With the cursed blade’s malevolent energy augmenting Lannlos, his strength surged dramatically.
In an instant, Lannlos appeared before Kahn.
Kahn barely managed to block with Yujin, but the force sent him flying.
Crash!
Kahn smashed into the ship’s wall.
“Lieutenant!”
Curls shouted in alarm.
“I’m fine!”
Kahn wiped a trickle of blood from his mouth, speaking with determination.
With the cursed blade’s malevolent energy boosting Lannlos, the battle had shifted dramatically. Defeating him seemed almost impossible, yet Kahn had to try.
Gripping Yujin tightly, Kahn charged back into the fray against the cursed knight.
