One Piece Shadow Army - Chapter 27
St. De Elementary School.
This was a prestigious school in Loguetown, attended by children from wealthy or noble families.
At this moment, a few suspicious figures were hiding behind a house near the school entrance.
“How is it? Are you sure?”
A middle-aged man with messy hair asked his companion.
“It’s confirmed. The little girl goes to school here. Her family used to live in the old district as commoners, but they recently found a huge treasure, and now they’re very wealthy.”
“Their security is too tight for us to steal anything. We have to go the kidnapping route.”
The messy-haired man asked again, “Kidnapping her for ransom won’t cause any trouble, right?”
His companion replied, “The Charl family has no real power. The girl’s brother is a Marine, but he’s just a rookie, no threat to us.”
The messy-haired man nodded, “Target confirmed. Get ready to move.”
“Yes,” responded the other kidnappers.
Moments later.
The bell rang at St. De Elementary, and the children began to exit the school.
Verisia, carrying her small backpack, walked out of the gate with a sullen face.
The reason for her unhappiness was simple.
Her brother had not returned!
He had promised to be back in three months. She had been counting the days, and three days ago was the promised time.
But he still hadn’t returned!
Brother lied to me! Hmph, I’m mad!
Verisia boarded the carriage that took her home from school, thinking she would eat lots of meat to vent her frustration.
The hired bodyguard was a bit helpless. Just a few days ago, the young lady had been smiling as she went to and from school. Why the sudden change?
But it wasn’t his place to worry about that. His job was to escort the young lady safely.
“Hyah!”
With a flick of the reins, the carriage began to move forward.
What the bodyguard didn’t notice was a few figures stealthily following the carriage!
…
Marine Base, Training Room.
Curls was using his shadow powers to isolate himself, examining the cursed sword Red Moon before him.
The blade of this cursed sword was sharply curved, with a long, crimson edge contrasting with its black body. Even a distant glance would make one feel drawn to it.
Truly a cursed sword!
“Curls, that sword in your hand looks like a famous blade. Can I take a look?”
Tashigi suddenly noticed the sword in Curls’s hand and curiously approached.
“No,” Curls quickly sheathed the cursed sword. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to show Tashigi; it was that the sword’s seductive power was too strong. He feared this fool might be controlled again, like on the ghost ship.
“Why not?”
Tashigi, determined, pulled out her treasured sword encyclopedia and began flipping through it.
Finally, she found the matching page, adjusted her glasses, and spoke.
“Black blade, crimson edge, red on the bottom and black on top, round guard—this is one of the [21 O Wazamono Grade Swords], the cursed sword Red Moon!”
“Wait… cursed sword!”
Her expression changed as she read on.
“This cursed sword is extremely sinister. If the wielder’s will is weak, they can be controlled by the sword, bringing unimaginable disaster!”
“A cursed sword! This is too dangerous! Curls, I don’t know where you found this cursed sword, but I advise you not to use it. It’s too dangerous!”
“I know,” Curls stood up, ignoring Tashigi’s rambling.
He walked back to his room, thinking about his gains at sea.
Obtaining the cursed sword Red Moon!
Advancing to precise swordsmanship!
Looting from the pirates!
But the greatest gain was summoning the swordmaster-level [Ralos] and twelve precise swordsmanship-level [Shadow Knights].
He could summon these shadow soldiers thanks to Major Kahn’s powerful abilities.
Thinking of Major Kahn, Curls couldn’t help but think of another person with whom he had conflicts.
George William!
Major Kahn was a swordmaster, and as his junior fellow disciple from the Isshin Dojo, William’s swordsmanship couldn’t be weak.
Even if it was slightly weaker, it wouldn’t be by much. Otherwise, Major Kahn could have dealt with everyone at the Loguetown port by himself.
It seemed his previous assessment of William’s strength was too low.
Curls gazed at his shadow, his mood calming.
With [Ralos] the Grand Knight Commander and twelve [Shadow Knights], he no longer needed to fear the William Pirates.
Speaking of the Isshin Dojo, it was pretty special. Its master, Koushirou, was an unknown strength, but he taught many swordsmanship experts, including Major Kahn, William, and even the future Zoro…
Additionally, according to hints in the original story, the Revolutionary Army had appeared near the island where Isshin Dojo was located.
Unfortunately, Curls had only read up to the battle with Kaido in the manga. He didn’t know what happened afterward.
Seventeen years had passed; the manga should be finished by now. What was the One Piece treasure? What was the secret of the D family?
He couldn’t find out these things now. He could only wait for answers in this real world of pirates.
…
Operations Office.
A Marine ensign asked.
“You want to take leave?”
Curls nodded, “Yes, after the rookie period, Marines get four days off every month. I want to take three days to visit home.”
The ensign wasn’t surprised by Curls’s request. Most new Marines chose to visit home after their rookie period. After all, they hadn’t been home for three months.
“Alright, I’ve noted it down.”
“Thank you.”
After completing the leave process, Curls left the office, heading out of the Marine Base.
He had planned to wait until his rank was awarded before taking leave, but Ensign Mode said his commission was being reported along with Major Kahn’s matters, and it would take four or five days for approval.
Curls had promised his father and sister he would return home after the rookie period. If he waited longer, they might worry.
So, he had no choice but to take leave first.
He could always return to show off his rank with his remaining leave later.
Leaving the Marine Base, a refreshing breeze hit him, making him feel exhilarated.
This was the feeling of freedom!
…
A quarter-hour later.
Curls arrived at the villa on the west side of Loguetown, feeling joyful.
The guard at the gate saw Curls and urgently called out, “Master Curls, you’re finally back. There’s trouble!”
A sense of unease crept into Curls’s heart as he asked, “What happened?”
The guard pointed to the villa, “Master, kidnappers have taken Miss Verisia. They left a message demanding 100 million Berries in ransom. The master is in the hall, frantic with worry.”
Curls’s gaze turned cold.
“You’re saying my sister has been kidnapped?”
The guard felt a chilling fear, a pressure he had never experienced before Curls left for the Marines.
Stammering, he said, “Y-yes, but these are not ordinary kidnappers. They’re from the Loguetown gang!”
“Alright, I understand.”
Curls retracted the uncontrollable shadow power he had just released, and a surge of anger rose within him.
Loguetown gang?
Fine!
You can await your destruction!
