One Piece Shadow Army - Chapter 28
Inside the Villa.
Ronald was at his wit’s end.
He never imagined that his daughter would be kidnapped by gang members.
“Hurry up!”
“Yes, sir.”
The butler was sweating profusely but continued to arrange the 100 million Berries ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
Ronald hadn’t notified the Marines or the police because the kidnappers had threatened to kill the hostage if they did.
Regarding the gangs of Loguetown.
Ronald knew from his work at the brewery that they were ruthless criminals. He couldn’t risk their threat being real because he couldn’t afford to.
Tap, tap, tap!
A series of crisp footsteps sounded.
Ronald turned and saw Curls, quickly explaining the situation.
“Son, you’re finally back. But there’s a big problem. Your sister has been kidnapped by gang members. They demand we pay 100 million Berries for her release, or they’ll kill her.
We must not inform the Marines or the police, or they’ll do the same. I’m preparing to take the money to the kidnappers.”
After hearing Ronald’s explanation, Curls shook his head, “Father, you’re underestimating their greed. Do you think they’ll release her once you pay the ransom?
Gangs are usually insatiable. If you give them the money, they might keep demanding more until they’ve drained our family’s wealth.”
Ronald was stunned and, upon careful thought, found his son’s words reasonable.
“So, what should we do?”
Curls picked up the prepared ransom, speaking calmly.
“Leave this to me. I’ll bring my sister back safely.”
Although Ronald knew his son had special abilities, he was still worried.
“But they are gang members, numerous and dangerous…”
Curls walked out of the villa, waving his hand, “Don’t worry, Father. I’m not the same Marine rookie I was three months ago!”
…
Loguetown, East District.
This area was a chaotic mix of people, the source of which was the presence of the most powerful gang in Loguetown.
They had proliferated through running gambling dens, collecting protection money, and smuggling weapons.
Even the town’s police rarely dared to meddle here.
Curls, carrying a black briefcase, arrived at the designated location set by the kidnappers.
He had changed into a black robe, hiding his identity as a Marine.
“Hmm, finally here.”
Seeing Curls, the waiting kidnappers perked up.
“Did you bring the ransom?”
Curls asked in return, “Where’s my sister?”
The lead kidnapper impatiently responded.
“Why so much talking? Show us the ransom first, or how do we know you’re not carrying an empty case?”
Curls opened the briefcase.
Instantly, stacks of dark green bills appeared neatly inside.
Each bill was worth 10,000 Berries, with a faint ink smell, and the design featured a circular wreath representing the World Government’s member countries.
There was also a seagull symbol representing peace.
The kidnappers’ eyes filled with greed at the sight of the 100 million Berries.
Curls pulled out a bottle of high-concentration alcohol and poured it over the money, releasing a pungent smell!
“What are you doing?”
The lead kidnapper exclaimed.
Curls, expressionless, said, “Take me to my sister, or I’ll burn this money!”
Burn 100 million Berries?!
The lead kidnapper swallowed hard, nervously responding, “I don’t believe you’ll do it!”
Curls remained silent, pulling out a metal lighter.
*Click!*
As the lighter opened, a flame ignited!
“Stop!”
Seeing Curls was serious, the lead kidnapper quickly said, “Stop, I’ll take you to her.”
Curls put away the lighter and closed the briefcase, holding it in his hand again.
Engaging with the enemy.
Control of the situation was crucial.
Acting on his terms would yield the most effective results.
The kidnappers before him were clearly just henchmen. The real threat was the powerful gang behind them.
So, Curls chose to proceed at his pace, solving the issue as quickly as possible.
…
East District, Central Casino.
Curls followed the kidnappers into the massive casino.
The casino was crowded and noisy.
Emotions of disappointment, euphoria, and anger were rampant.
Gamblers frequently shouted in joy or despair as they lost everything.
Curls followed the kidnappers to the innermost gambling table.
Unlike the other tables, this one had chips but was only occupied by a sharp-dressed man in a black suit.
The kidnappers approached the man, reporting in low voices, “Deputy Leader, the Charl family has brought the ransom, but he demands to see the hostage first.”
The gang’s deputy leader, Jolin, eyed Curls coldly, “Interesting. You dare make demands of us? Don’t you know we’re the biggest gang in Loguetown?”
Curls remained unfazed, “Of course I know, but so what?”
Jolin’s lazy demeanor faded, his gaze turning harsh.
“You’ve got guts, talking to me like that!”
Curls didn’t respond.
“The 100 million Berries is here. I just want to know where my sister is!”
Jolin smoked his cigar in silence, his gaze shifting to the briefcase of money.
The fact that the Charl family could produce 100 million Berries so quickly meant they had indeed found a significant treasure.
Given that, there was no way the gang would let go of this fat sheep easily.
Jolin pointed to the dice on the table.
“You want to see your sister? Fine, but you have to beat me in a game. Do you dare?”
Curls remained silent.
Jolin waited, knowing that once Curls sat at the gambling table, he would make him lose everything.
Jolin was very confident in his gambling skills!
After a few moments.
Curls finally moved.
Shadow powers surged, and he drew the cursed sword Red Moon from the shadows.
“Sorry! I don’t gamble!”
*Slash!*
A red slash of the sword split the table in half, sending it crashing down. Jolin, struck by the cursed blade, fell lifelessly to the side.
The noise in the casino ceased.
Silence fell, and you could hear a pin drop!
All the gamblers stared at Curls in shock.
How could this young man dare?
He had killed Jolin in the casino!
Thinking about the possible aftermath, the gamblers abandoned their bets and fled the casino.
“Damn it!”
In the next moment, a swarm of enraged gang members surrounded him.
These gang members wielded a variety of weapons—swords, flintlock guns, special weapons…
In short.
Curls was completely surrounded.
For these small fries, Curls had no intention of dealing with them personally!
“Shadow Knights!”
At his command, twelve armored [Shadow Knights] emerged from the darkness.
“Deal with them!”
Following Curls’s order, the twelve [Shadow Knights] brandished their swords and launched an assault on the gang members.
The battle erupted instantly!
Though numerous, the gang members were no match for the [Shadow Knights].
The twelve [Shadow Knights] began slaughtering them like cutting through grass.
Curls ignored the ongoing fight, heading directly to the back of the casino, where the gang leader of Loguetown was located.
Strike the horse to strike the rider!
Capture the king to capture the enemy!
