One Piece Shadow Army - Chapter 29
Marine Base.
Sixth Floor, Marine Building.
An adjutant pushed open Captain Smoker’s office door, reporting: “Captain, there’s a fierce battle happening within the Loguetown gang.”
“Hmm?”
Smoker was puzzled. Why would there be a fight within the gang?
He often frequented the casino not just because he enjoyed gambling, but also to intimidate the gangs in Loguetown and keep them from getting too out of hand.
“Captain, should we send forces over?” the adjutant asked.
Smoker stood up from the couch: “Bring a few squads with me. The gang members in Loguetown are numerous. If they start fighting, it could affect the surrounding civilians.”
“Yes, sir.”
…
Behind the Casino.
A young man with green hair styled like a pompadour was watching over the kidnapped hostage with a few other gang members.
His name was Bartolomeo. At nineteen, he had an eye tattoo under his right eye, wore a nose ring, had a fierce look, and had a black wing-shaped half-ring tattoo on his chest.
As a minor gang leader, Bartolomeo was highly valued by the gang boss. He might even gain control over a street.
In the future, he might rise higher in the gang, gaining more power.
Nearby, a subordinate’s question interrupted Bartolomeo’s daydreams.
“Boss, why is this hostage girl eating so much? She’s already eaten several portions of meat!”
Bartolomeo was impatient.
“Who knows? Just let her eat. She’s a hostage worth 100 million Berries. Our job is to ensure her safety.”
“Yes, boss.” The subordinate responded.
In the room, Verisia finished her fifth meal brought by the strange men and shouted again: “I’m done, I want more meat!”
“Got it.”
Bartolomeo responded helplessly and instructed his men, “Watch her. I’ll go get more food.”
“Yes, boss.” The subordinates replied.
Bartolomeo put his hands in his pockets and swaggered toward the casino’s restaurant.
…
Front Hall of the Casino.
Sounds of clashing swords and flintlock gunfire filled the air.
The scene inside the casino was chaotic.
Such scenes were rare, as large-scale chaos hadn’t occurred in the casino since the gang unified Loguetown.
A young gang member fired his flintlock at the shadowy knights formed by dark shadows.
Bang!
The bullet tore through the air, hitting a [Shadow Knight] in the chest.
But to everyone’s horror, no blood flowed from the [Shadow Knight]’s wound.
Moments later, shadows surged over the bullet hole, restoring it.
“Damn, what kind of monster is this?”
A bearded man next to him said in fear, also attacking the [Shadow Knight] with his flintlock.
But their attacks were ineffective.
A [Shadow Knight] charged at the bearded man, swinging its longsword.
Slice!
Blood sprayed out.
A few drops of blood splattered on the young gang member’s face.
“Who… who are you…”
The young gang member was terrified, falling to the ground, trembling, unable to hold his weapon steady.
The [Shadow Knight] remained silent.
With a swift swing of the sword, the young gang member was also dispatched with one blow.
…
Elsewhere, Curls had entered the dark passage leading to the back of the casino.
Due to the chaos in the casino, more gang members were rushing through this passage.
They collided with Curls!
A red flash appeared in the darkness!
It was the cursed sword, Red Moon!
And it took the lives of the gang members who encountered Curls.
Blood dripped from the crimson blade, creating a powerful visual impact.
“Damn it, who are you?”
A fierce bald man yelled, punching at Curls with brass knuckles.
A red arc appeared!
A long wound instantly appeared on the bald man’s chest, and his fierce expression froze as he fell lifelessly to the ground.
Killing didn’t disturb Curls’s calm.
Although these gang members weren’t as vile as pirates, they still exploited the townspeople, sometimes even worse.
Killing them carried no psychological burden for him.
With a cold gaze, Curls stepped over the bodies and continued forward.
…
Screams echoed in the darkness, bodies fell to the ground.
Gradually, no more gang members charged at him.
Curls walked forward expressionlessly.
From the darkness on the left, a sharp dagger silently appeared, stabbing at Curls.
With a simple backhand slash, the cursed sword decapitated the assailant, blood spraying everywhere.
Curls didn’t bother with the body.
More enemies attacked him from different directions.
Moments later.
Only five lifeless bodies remained.
After passing a large wooden pillar, an enemy hiding behind it swung a huge iron hammer down.
Bang!
The wooden floor was deeply dented, but there was no one at the center of the attack.
“Looking for me?”
As the burly man was confused, Curls appeared silently behind him.
Cold sweat broke out on the burly man’s forehead.
He had to fight, turning to attack fiercely.
But before he could turn, a sharp pain hit his back, and he fell into eternal darkness.
“Die!”
Another man with messy hair emerged from behind a nearby pillar, aiming a heavy machine gun at Curls and firing.
In the darkness, gunfire echoed.
The machine gun’s barrel spewed flames as dozens of bullets shot out.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bullets hit the opposite pillar, creating a mess of holes and wood splinters.
Curls had already dodged.
In the next second, he dashed forward, reaching the man with the machine gun and slashing.
The roaring gunfire stopped.
The man with messy hair screamed and fell, lifeless.
…
Bang!
An ornate wooden door was kicked open, followed by a gang member flying through.
The commotion made the gang leaders inside stop eating.
The room fell silent.
Then.
Under the watchful eyes of all the gang leaders, a handsome young man in a black shirt, holding a strange long sword, slowly entered.
“Who are you?”
One of the gang leaders questioned.
Curls scanned the room coldly, “Which one of you is the gang boss?”
Instantly, everyone’s attention shifted to the man at the head of the table, wearing a black coat.
Loguetown gang boss, Gray!
Once, with a pair of dual pistols, he chased down enemies across eighteen streets, eventually unifying all of Loguetown’s gangs.
Many new gang members greatly admired him.
Bartolomeo was one of them.
Of course, he admired the boss’s position, hoping to one day sit in that seat, controlling hundreds of streets.
Bartolomeo had come to get food for the hostage, but he was excited to see someone daring to challenge their boss.
Maybe this time he could witness the boss in action up close.
At the head of the table.
The calm and aged Gray wiped his mouth with a napkin, impatiently speaking.
“Don’t you know I hate being disturbed while eating?”
“Sorry, boss.”
The gang leaders’ expressions changed.
One of them moved toward Curls, ready to deal with this impudent boy.
Based on the reactions.
Curls had identified the gang boss and didn’t hesitate to summon his strongest shadow soldier.
“[Ralos]”
“Eliminate all these criminals!”
From the shadows beside Curls, Grand Knight Commander [Ralos] appeared, his blue eyes shining brightly in his black armor.
“By the king’s command!”
