One Piece Shadow Army - Chapter 37
Both sides were immediately locked in a standoff!
On one side was the thousand-strong pirate crew from the East Blue, and on the other was the renowned “Battle Restaurant.”
The Baratie had survived in the chaotic seas not due to the goodwill of other pirates but because of its true strength.
Every chef on the ship was a capable fighter. When Zeff declared, “Then let’s fight,” the chefs immediately became excited.
Even though they were outnumbered, the chefs of the Baratie had no fear of the fight!
“Let’s see if Red-Leg Zeff is stronger, or if my Red-Beard is tougher!”
Barbarossa grabbed a large sword and leaped from the over five-meter-high deck.
In the next moment, his massive body lunged at Zeff like a crazed bear.
Faced with Barbarossa’s charge, Zeff kept his arms folded across his chest. Just as Barbarossa was about to reach him, Zeff’s right leg, now a wooden prosthesis, lashed out like lightning.
Boom!
Barbarossa, who had been charging at high speed, was immediately repelled at an even greater speed.
Ultimately, his massive body crashed into the hull of his own ship.
This was Zeff’s kicking technique!
In his prime, Zeff’s leg strength was immense, allowing him to easily shatter rocks and leave marks on steel with his kicks.
Although his power had diminished significantly after losing his right leg, he remained formidable.
“Captain!”
The pirates on the ship exclaimed in shock.
Barbarossa extricated himself from the hull, twisted his body slightly, and revealed a grim smile.
“That didn’t hurt at all!”
“Are you kidding me?!” Zeff’s expression darkened, and he grew even more furious.
To take a direct hit from his kick and say it didn’t hurt?
Previously, those struck by his kicks had often been left bloodied and battered, earning him the title of Red-Leg.
But now, Barbarossa was mocking his kick’s power, which enraged him.
Zeff didn’t wait; he charged directly at Barbarossa, his right leg slamming into Barbarossa’s abdomen.
The dull sound echoed, proving the strength of Zeff’s kick.
But Barbarossa’s face showed no sign of pain as he swung his large sword at Zeff!
Zeff dodged quickly, continuing to seek opportunities to attack.
Despite Zeff’s continuous kicks landing on Barbarossa, the latter seemed to feel no pain and kept fighting.
Barbarossa could achieve this because he had been using his Devil Fruit ability from the start, which dulled his pain receptors while still sustaining physical damage.
If this continued, he would inevitably suffer severe injuries.
“Men, Red-Leg Zeff is no big deal! Charge!”
Barbarossa shouted, ordering his pirates to attack.
“Charge with the captain!”
Under the command of a subordinate, the Liquor Pirates’ crew, having downed a bowl of liquor, charged the Baratie’s floating platform like unleashed beasts.
“Crush them!”
On the Baratie’s side, Paddy also rallied the chefs’ morale and led the charge, using a shovel to knock a pirate into the sea.
The battle chefs, armed with various weapons, joined the fray.
On the floating platform, shouts of combat echoed.
Inside the restaurant, Curls watched the fierce battle outside with a frown.
He knew some information about the Liquor Pirates. Their captain, Barbarossa, had eaten the Paramecia-type Liquor-Liquor Fruit.
This fruit’s ability allowed him to conjure liquor out of thin air, and those who drank it would become frenzied as if on stimulants.
The liquor these pirates had just drunk was evidently conjured by Barbarossa’s Devil Fruit, which explained their high fighting spirit.
“Shigan!”
Sanji kicked an opponent in the neck, targeting a vital point.
Bang!
The pirate’s eyes rolled back as he was sent flying.
“Collier!”
Sanji then kicked another pirate in the shoulder, knocking him off balance and making him collapse onto the platform.
Over the years, Sanji had not only trained in culinary skills under Zeff but also learned his powerful kicking techniques.
Though he hadn’t mastered them fully, his combat prowess still far surpassed these pirates.
In mere moments, over a dozen pirates were downed, but compared to their overwhelming numbers, it was just a drop in the ocean.
The Baratie’s chefs, despite being stronger individually, couldn’t match the sheer number and ferocity of the Liquor Pirates, gradually falling into a disadvantage.
Zeff understood the situation clearly and knew they couldn’t drag this out any longer.
“Sanji, watch closely. Today, you’ll witness the ultimate kicking technique!”
Suddenly, Zeff shouted.
Sanji, in the midst of kicking a pirate, turned his head in confusion.
Zeff’s actions also drew the attention of the other chefs and pirates.
In Sanji’s view, Zeff began to spin rapidly on his wooden peg leg.
As he spun at high speed, the friction between the wooden leg and the platform generated intense heat and smoke, which soon ignited into flames.
Zeff’s wooden peg leg, substituting for his right leg, was now engulfed in fire and heat.
“Diable Jambe!”
After finishing his spin, Zeff leaped several meters into the air, his flaming leg descending like a meteor.
Barbarossa, unable to dodge, used his Devil Fruit ability to fortify himself.
Boom!
“Diable Jambe” struck Barbarossa’s chest. Despite his iron armor, the intense heat penetrated.
However, the wooden leg, unable to withstand the high temperature, shattered like charcoal.
But the powerful force still sent Barbarossa flying.
Barbarossa’s body hurtled back like a cannonball, crashing into the lower deck of his ship.
The chefs and pirates in the battle were stunned. They hadn’t expected Zeff, who had lost his right leg, to unleash such a powerful kicking technique.
If Zeff still had his right leg, how much more powerful would he be?
“Diable Jambe?”
Sanji stared at Zeff in awe. He knew all too well how Zeff had lost his right leg.
By now, Zeff was sweating profusely, his energy drained, and the broken prosthesis further limiting his already weakened strength.
He wondered if the Diable Jambe’s strike had defeated Barbarossa.
Under the tense gaze of everyone, there was movement in the shattered ship.
A pile of debris was pushed aside.
Barbarossa stood up again, his entire skin flushed red, veins bulging, and slight steam rising from his body.
In the next instant, Barbarossa charged out with greater speed, landing a heavy punch that sent Zeff flying.
“Old man!”
“Boss!”
Seeing this, Sanji and the Baratie chefs shouted in concern.
Supported by some chefs, Zeff slowly stood up, but without his prosthesis, he could no longer fight Barbarossa.
Barbarossa picked up his large sword, speaking coldly, “Zeff, this is your last chance. Hand over the logbook.”
“Never!” Zeff endured the pain in his chest, repeating his previous answer.
Barbarossa glanced at his burnt chest, unable to contain his rage.
“Fine! Everyone here will die today, spreading the fearsome name of Red-Beard Barbarossa!”
