One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 13
A silver flash!
Evan’s figure flickered as he sensed the spatial marker on Robin, instantly teleporting beside her.
The scene before him blurred and changed to a bustling central street.
In front of him stood Robin, her shiny blue hair and floral dress catching his eye. She turned around, tears streaming down her face.
Seeing Evan, Robin could no longer hold back her tears. She rushed into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
“Evan… my mom, she…” Robin cried, soaking his clothes with her tears.
“What on earth is happening?” Evan was shaken to his core.
Robin knew her mother had returned.
How was that possible?
“Little girl, how could your mother have come back?” Evan asked urgently, feeling that something had deviated from the original path.
“Dr. Clover told me. My mother just returned to the Tree of Knowledge and then headed to the East Coast alone!” Robin said, unable to stop her tears, clutching Evan’s sleeve. I couldn’t catch up with her…”
Bang!
A loud gunshot echoed from the street corner, breaking the morning calm and causing screams and cries of fear to surge.
“World Government officials?!”
“What are they doing on this remote island?”
The long-time residents of Ohara were thrown into a panic, not knowing what to do.
“The scholars on this island are researching ancient scripts, attempting to create demons! Guilty!”
“Take all non-scholar residents to the evacuation ship!”
The authoritative command was delivered with undeniable force.
Evan was startled. He quickly pulled Robin into a concealed alley.
“ROOM – Scan.”
The scan revealed a group of officials in black suits entering the street, systematically executing their orders, checking the residents’ identities, and taking them away.
It was CP9. How did they get to the island so quickly?
Dr. Clover shouldn’t have told Robin about her mother.
And Robin’s mother, Olvia, wasn’t supposed to return until tomorrow…
“What!”
Evan’s face turned pale. In a flash, he suddenly understood.
After killing the two CP9 members secretly operating yesterday, Nivia might have transmitted some information to the World Government during her escape, causing subtle changes in the original story and accelerating events!
This was the only explanation for the altered timelines—the appearance of the giant Saul, Olvia’s return, and the arrival of CP9 on the island all coincided.
Evan had made a critical mistake—while trying to change the original story, he had considered everything from the perspective of the original plot.
“Damn it!”
Evan gritted his teeth. The black-suited inspectors were approaching. He held Robin tightly and disappeared in a silver flash within the alley.
The next moment, he and Robin appeared outside the Tree of Knowledge library.
“Dr. Clover!” Evan knocked on the library door. It quickly opened, revealing Dr. Clover.
“World Government officials are here. Take Robin to the evacuation ship immediately. As long as you don’t reveal that Robin is a scholar, you’ll survive!” Dr. Clover said urgently.
Evan shook his head. The evacuation ship might seem like the only escape route on the island, but Sakazuki’s warship would destroy it to ensure no survivors, fitting his ruthless methods.
By now, there was no way to escape.
“Doctor, take care of Robin. I’ll rescue Olvia!”
Evan handed Robin over to Dr. Clover and disappeared in a silver flash.
Fortunately, he had left a spatial marker on the island’s east coast during his long-term training.
When Evan appeared on a tree branch in the east coast forest, he instinctively looked at the blue sea beyond the shore and gasped.
Dozens of massive steel warships surrounded the entire east coast, occupying the sea with imposing readiness. Rows of black cannons were aimed at the island, leaving no doubt about their destructive power. A collective bombardment would result in total annihilation.
The Buster Call was already in place!
A cold sweat dripped from Evan’s forehead, sliding down his pale face and falling on the leaf.
Then he turned, reached out, and sprinted deeper into the forest.
“ROOM – Scan.”
Evan ran quickly, scanning the forest. Time was running out. He had to rescue Olvia quickly!
In the Forest of the East Coast
Olvia was fleeing. Her silver hair was covered by a hat, her beautiful face set in determination. She was wearing a denim jacket and boots that made crisp sounds on the grass.
Though an archaeologist, her six years at sea had honed her survival skills.
Bursting through a thicket, she emerged into a clearing where two men in black suits stood waiting.
Olvia knew who they were. She raised her rifle, aiming at them.
“Nico Olvia, it would be quite embarrassing for us if you escaped,” one of them said mockingly.
“Do you think that toy in your hand can harm us?” the other added, equally amused.
“Arrest me if you must, but leave the scholars alone! They are innocent!” Olvia shouted. She had learned from Dr. Clover that the World Government was targeting the scholars of Ohara.
“As a remarkably intelligent woman, why are you so naive? You deny being an Ohara scholar yet defend them at every turn?” one of the CP9 agents taunted.
“Our superior is already searching for evidence in the Tree of Knowledge. Once we have proof… No, even without proof, this island will be destroyed!” the sunglasses man grinned, eager for that moment.
“You!” Olvia fired, but the bullet missed, hitting the ground where the sunglasses-wearing man had stood.
He reappeared in front of Olvia, kicking her in the abdomen and causing her to lose consciousness instantly.
He slung her unconscious body over his shoulder and motioned to his partner, “Let’s go.”
Before they could move, a cold voice stopped them.
“Wait, hand over that woman.”
A figure swiftly emerged from the forest, standing on a tree branch above them, looking down.
It was Evan.
“What is your relationship with this woman?” the sunglasses-wearing man asked.
“Future mother-in-law.”
“Kid, what kind of joke is that?” the man sneered.
“Interfering with our mission is a crime!” the other agent warned.
“Oh really?” Evan smiled indifferently. “I don’t mind killing two more CP9 members!”
The two agents’ expressions changed. They were about to act when an invisible force compressed the air around them, making it hard to move.
“ROOM – Spatial Imprisonment!”
Evan’s ability rendered them immobile. He jumped down, rescued Olvia, and delivered punches and kicks to the two CP9 members, sending them flying and crashing into several trees.
Though not severely injured, the agents’ suits were torn, and they were covered in dirt and looked disheveled.
Evan, carrying Olvia, couldn’t help but chuckle. It seemed that all the CP9 members he encountered wore suits—stylish but impractical.
A perfect example of “handsome for only three seconds.”
“Don’t bother chasing me. Keep some dignity for yourselves,” Evan said, carrying Olvia toward the Tree of Knowledge. The CP9 agents were furious and quickly gave chase.
Carrying someone limited the distance Evan could travel with his silver flash, making it impossible to teleport directly back to the Tree of Knowledge.
Evan’s speed decreased while carrying Olvia, but the CP9 agents, using techniques like Soru and Geppo, were faster.
Despite their efforts, they remained thirty meters behind Evan, hindered by a repulsive force.
“I’ve been maintaining ROOM all along!” Evan turned and smiled at the CP9 agents desperately chasing him.
He could severely limit their speed by controlling his spatial ability to create an outward repulsive force.
“They can’t catch me!” Evan squinted, calculating that he was close enough to use the spatial marker on Robin to teleport with Olvia. “Just a few more miles…”
Suddenly, two ice lances shot from the dense forest beside him, aiming straight for him!
Evan’s pupils contracted as the feeling of death crept into his mind.
Danger!
