One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 14
Icy spears, chilling and blue-white, shot toward Evan!
Evan, carrying Olvia, teleported to the side, forcibly changing his position. The spears missed, striking the ground and instantly releasing a wave of cold that froze the grass into white frost.
A tall, imposing man leaped out of the forest, his military green coat billowing in the wind, white mist swirling around him.
Thud!
As he landed, the dew on the grass around him froze instantly, the oppressive and powerful aura radiating from him.
“Vice Admiral Kuzan!”
The two CP9 members who had been chasing Evan halted, exclaiming in surprise at the sight of the tall man.
Evan stopped, his eyes heavy as he looked at the tall man called Vice Admiral Kuzan, a bitter taste in his mouth.
If it were an ordinary vice admiral, Evan was confident he could escape using his spatial abilities.
But this man was an exception!
Kuzan, current vice admiral of the marine, wielder of the Ice-Ice Fruit, and one of the future Marine Admirals, codenamed “Aokiji,” was a peerless warrior!
Even in his youth, with his strength still growing, he was at least at the peak of vice admiral level, if not Shichibukai level!
Someone far beyond Evan’s ability to contend with at the moment!
“Impressive strength, kid. But if I let you take her, where would the World Government’s face be?” Kuzan spread his hands, exhaling frost, his small sunglasses reflecting Evan.
“Vice Admiral Kuzan, it’s an honor to meet you,” Evan sighed inwardly, knowing that escaping now would be tough.
“Oh? You’ve heard of me?” Kuzan’s broad lips curled with interest.
“Of course… You’re quite famous where I come from,” Evan mused, recalling how much he liked this character in the anime, now faced with the task of escaping from him, which was oddly amusing.
“Really? It’s a shame I can’t let you go. If you put down that woman, I might spare your life,” Kuzan considered.
“Vice Admiral Kuzan, no! This kid is likely involved in last night’s incident!” one of the CP9 agents urgently spoke up.
“Last night… Did you kill those two?” Kuzan thought, somewhat surprised.
According to Sengoku, killing two CP9 members secretly required the strength of a vice admiral. Could this eleven or twelve-year-old boy have done it?
Evan remained silent, his still youthful face betraying no emotion as he rapidly considered various escape strategies and their feasibility.
Facing such a powerful opponent, one mistake could cost him his life.
“If you won’t speak, I’ll assume you did it. Let’s test your strength,” Kuzan grinned.
He shrugged lazily as if just playing around, but his casual strike packed immense power.
“Ice Time Capsule!”
A surge of white frost erupted from his palm, swiftly sweeping toward Evan!
“ROOM – Spatial Imprisonment!”
A repulsive force field expanded outward, trying to block the advancing frost.
But the white frost continued to flow forward, cold and terrifying.
Startled, Evan kicked to the side, dodging.
The frost hit the ground, quickly spreading, freezing the surrounding area into a white layer of ice.
Evan felt the frost nipping at his legs, threatening to freeze them solid!
He flashed and disappeared, the frost missing its target, turning a ten-meter area into an icy field.
Breathing heavily, Evan reappeared on a nearby tree branch, his right leg covered in a thin layer of frost, hindering blood flow.
That was close! Without teleportation, his right leg would have been completely frozen.
Kuzan made a surprised sound, impressed that Evan had dodged his Ice Time Capsule.
“Teleportation? A Devil Fruit user, huh,” he said, intrigued.
“Let’s go again!”
Another wave of frost spread rapidly through the air.
Seeing it approach, Evan sighed and teleported again.
The frost hit a tree and quickly spread, freezing the plants, rocks, and ground into a crystal-clear icy landscape.
Despite the summer heat and bright sun, a part of the forest was now covered in frost, the air filled with chilling cold.
The CP9 agents retreated, avoiding the icy area, fearing the encroaching frost.
Evan teleported a hundred meters away, stumbling and pale.
Teleporting with someone consumed too much energy! Evan doubted his stamina could hold out.
He kicked off, fleeing toward the Tree of Knowledge.
“Only three miles left!”
Evan gritted his teeth, sweating coldly. He could sense the spatial marker on Robin, just three miles away, allowing him to teleport using his silver flash!
A normally short three-mile distance now felt endless!
He hadn’t gone far, less than halfway when he suddenly stopped. Ahead, on the forest path, stood Kuzan, motionless, as if waiting for him.
“Teleportation has a distance limit,” Kuzan mused.
Evan decisively pulled out three shurikens, which glowed milky white with a thin edge of spatial cutting power. He threw them swiftly.
Crack!
Kuzan didn’t dodge. The shurikens hit him, producing a crisp, unreal sound as his body shattered into ice fragments.
Elemental transformation of a Logia user.
Evan frowned, waving his left hand to manipulate the ice fragments.
The ice quickly reformed into Kuzan, who reached out with an icy hand, frost spreading from the ground.
Evan flashed and disappeared, the icy hand missing.
When he reappeared nearby, a tall figure emerged, frost surging, white mist enveloping Evan, threatening to freeze him solidly!
Evan’s pupils contracted as he saw Kuzan’s half-formed face and cold eyes behind the sunglasses.
“Ice Time!”
Evan’s body tensed to the limit!
He felt the bone-chilling cold almost instantly covering his body, freezing him solid!
If he got frozen, it would be over!
“ROOM – Almighty Push!”
The spherical space rapidly contracted into a light ball around Evan and Olvia, then exploded outward with terrifying repulsive force.
Everything around was pushed away, ice and dirt flying. Kuzan was forced back, his icy form sliding across the ground, leaving an icy path.
Evan stood in the center, the ground crushed into a circular pit. He exhaled warm breath, shivering, his face and body covered in frost.
Ignoring his dire state, he quickly checked Olvia. She was still unconscious, her eyelashes slightly frosted and trembling, but otherwise fine.
Evan sighed in relief. If Kuzan had attacked from the front, Olvia’s weak constitution would have been fatal.
“Impressive, kid. That teleportation and your last move were quite good,” Kuzan praised back in human form.
“Cough, cough.”
Evan coughed violently, the cold from the frost invading his body. But the primary issue was the backlash from overusing his spatial abilities. Almighty Push put a tremendous strain on his body.
“Give up, kid.”
Kuzan looked at the boy before him, knowing he was at his limit.
But then, Evan’s lips curled into a faint smile.
“Vice Admiral Kuzan, do you know why only two shurikens hit you earlier?”
“Hmm?”
“Sorry, but we’ll meet again.”
With that, Evan vanished in a silver flash.
