One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 23
In the Marine Headquarters office.
“Garp, why have you been running around so much lately? The seas have been in turmoil since Roger’s death.”
Sengoku sat in his office chair as Garp, covered in dust, appeared to have just returned.
“Just getting some exercise, caught a few pirate crews who didn’t know their place.”
Garp sat down nonchalantly and pulled out a bag of snacks from behind.
“You rascal, you come back only to steal my rice crackers!” Sengoku yelled, spitting angrily.
“Don’t be mad, I need to discuss something with you. I’ll be going back to the East Blue in a few days.”
“Back to your hometown?” Sengoku asked, puzzled.
Garp nodded, a complex look flashing in his eyes. That child needed to be dealt with quickly.
“Going back might be a good idea. What about your promotion to Admiral…” Sengoku pondered.
“Forget it. Being an Admiral like you, busy to death, leaves no time for fun. I’ll stay as a Vice Admiral,” Garp said, shrinking his neck and laughing heartily.
“You…” Sengoku sighed, helpless against him.
“Blub, blub, blub…”
The phone snail on the desk suddenly rang, and Sengoku picked up the receiver.
After listening for a moment.
Bang!
He slammed his hand on the desk, almost breaking it. He yelled into the phone snail, “What did you say?! Repeat that! Two prisoners from the sixth level of Infinite Hell are missing?!”
“What are you doing over there?! The world government was already humiliated when the Golden Lion escaped! Are you trying to drive me crazy?!”
Sengoku was genuinely furious. Prisoners disappearing from other levels was one thing, but from the sixth level?!
The prisoners in the sixth level of Infinite Hell were true world-class criminals, extremely dangerous!
“Haha, Sengoku, have some rice crackers. They haven’t escaped yet, so we can still keep this quiet.”
Garp, unfazed, grabbed a handful of rice crackers and stuffed them into his mouth.
Sengoku ignored him but calmed down significantly, trying to maintain a composed tone. “What about the information on those two prisoners?”
Soon, the information from Impel Down was printed out.
Sengoku adjusted his glasses and began to read carefully.
Evan, 11 years old, male. Suspected to be a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit user with spatial abilities, capable of teleportation and creating circular spaces. Skilled in martial arts. Imprisoned for assassinating two CP9 members on Ohara Island, rescuing scholar Olvia, severely injuring Vice Admiral Sakazuki, imprisoned in 1450 of the Sea Calendar, a prisoner of Infinite Hell.
Watefu Jie is 78 years old and male. He is the creator of the Black Night style, recognized as the world’s strongest swordsman, and the first owner of the world’s strongest black blade, titled “Night Emperor.” Always a pirate hunter, he was imprisoned without reason and entered Impel Down in 1410 of the Sea Calendar.
“Evan, Watefu Jie…”
Sengoku muttered, his face growing darker. It was these two.
He couldn’t help but slam his hand on the desk again, this time completely collapsing it.
“Send people to search Impel Down layer by layer! Strictly guard it with heavy troops and ensure Impel Down’s absolute security!”
Sengoku roared into the phone snail.
“A gifted kid and a legendary swordsman… Impel Down is truly lively now,” Garp sighed, shaking his head, and throwing another handful of rice crackers into his mouth.
Quickly, many Marines conducted a strict search of the prisoners, turning Impel Down upside down but finding no trace.
Evan and the Night Emperor seemed to have vanished without a trace.
Warden Magellan concluded that the two prisoners were still in Impel Down, just temporarily undetectable.
As they guessed, Evan and the Night Emperor hadn’t escaped Impel Down directly but hid in an unsearchable area after fleeing Infinite Hell.
Impel Down’s unknown Level 5.5.
This spacious area was located between the fifth level Freezing Hell, and the sixth level Infinite Hell.
Whoosh!
Evan stretched his limbs, his bones crackling. He moved with a dragon’s gait and a tiger’s step, sweating profusely.
He was shirtless, his wounds healed, and his skin smooth, almost bronze-colored. A green vine tattoo extended from his navel, growing and winding around his limbs, full of vibrant green.
As sweat flowed down his chest, the vine tattoo gleamed like jade leaves, full of life.
Evan’s vigor returned, his body stronger than ever. His advanced Golden Body showed signs of perfection, and the mysterious plant tattoo continuously supplied life energy, allowing him to practice without tiring.
“My body is finally fully healed.”
After finishing several sets of punches, Evan stopped to rest, drenched in sweat, a smile in his eyes.
“Evan!”
A young boy in prison clothes ran over. He had thick eyebrows, big eyes, shoulder-length black hair, and peculiar white eyes.
He looked about fifteen but smaller than eleven-year-old Evan, yet didn’t seem odd.
“Wang Wu, how’s the situation outside?” Evan asked. The Marines had been probing this area for the past few days.
“I dug deeper here, and with the Night Emperor’s Observation Haki covering us, they can’t find this place.” Wang Wu scratched his head, grinning.
“Good.”
Evan smiled. If discovered, it would be another tough battle. Getting caught again wouldn’t just mean being returned to the sixth level.
“Evan, should I expand the space further?” Wang Wu asked.
Evan thought for a moment and shook his head. “This space is big enough, no need to waste effort.” He patted Wang Wu’s shoulder, feeling lucky.
A month ago, after escaping Infinite Hell with the Night Emperor, Evan knew they couldn’t break out of the heavily guarded Impel Down directly, so they had to hide.
Based on the original description of Impel Down, he knew of a passage leading to the 5.5 level space. Using ROOM and scanning abilities, he searched the fifth level Freezing Hell, until he found this place.
Unexpectedly, it was unoccupied by the Newkama King, but a young prisoner named Wang Wu was there.
As a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user with the Pangolin ability, Wang Wu easily excavated this interlayer space with his powerful digging ability.
“Disciple.”
The Night Emperor approached slowly, slightly hunched, with trimmed hair and beard, looking refreshed and sharp-eyed.
“Master.” Evan greeted.
“Night Emperor,” Wang Wu bowed slightly.
“Though my limbs are crippled, my physique is no different from ordinary people. Fortunately, my Observation Haki hasn’t regressed. Those Marines can’t find this place,” the Night Emperor chuckled.
“Master, your Observation Haki is intimidating enough,” Evan waved, teasing.
“You rascal, is your body healed? If so, start practicing Observation Haki. Wang Wu, you join too.”
“Yes.” Evan was eager to harness the power of Haki.
The 5.5 level space was spacious, with plenty of materials collected from outside and meat from the Freezing Hell’s snow wolves, making it an ideal training ground.
“Observation Haki originates from the heart, moves with the heart, and must be detailed to sense everything around…” The Night Emperor explained while covering their eyes with cloth.
“Remember, abandon your senses, feel with your heart…”
Whoosh!
“Ouch.” Wang Wu fell straight down, clutching his forehead in pain, “Night Emperor, why did you hit me!”
“Dodge.”
Whoosh!
“Damn.”
Evan got hit on the forehead by a stone, the impact not heavy but penetrating, causing a burning pain.
It was a stone imbued with a slight Armament Haki.
“Master, can you not hit the face…”
Evan was helpless, but another stone hit his abdomen, causing him to clutch his stomach in pain.
“Don’t use your senses, use your heart to perceive everything, the surroundings, the enemy…”
The Night Emperor’s aged voice echoed.
“Until you can reach me, the Observation Haki training won’t be over.”
Evan and Wang Wu, hearing this, stepped quickly toward the voice, hands swinging forward.
“So naive, don’t you know sounds can mislead you?”
The Night Emperor’s voice appeared from another direction, then floated around, seemingly from every corner.
Whoosh!
Two stones flew, arcing through the air, knocking Evan and Wang Wu down. Despite their strong physiques, the pain was intense.
“I said, don’t hit the face!!!”
Evan’s wails echoed through the space.
