One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 26
“Hmm?”
Evan frowned as he sensed the presence of a pack of Army Wolves within the range of his spatial ability. There were over a dozen wolves, including one massive Army Wolf.
“A mutation? An Army Wolf leader?”
Evan pondered, then teleported to a tree beside the wolves.
He crouched on the tree trunk, his feet lightly stepping on the snow-covered branches, making no sound.
Evan carefully observed the wolves below. There were about a dozen wolves resting in the snow. One wolf on the slope stood out, its size more than three times that of a regular Army Wolf, making it conspicuous.
Its body was tall and powerful like a tiger, with shimmering silver-white fur. It moved gracefully and powerfully, exuding a sense of danger with every step.
From its appearance to its aura, this Army Wolf gave Evan an indescribable sense of impact.
The Army Wolf leader took a few steps, its ears twitching before it turned its head, lifting its gaze to coldly stare at Evan with sharp eyes.
“Discovered?”
Evan was momentarily stunned.
As the Army Wolf leader and its pack began to surround the tree, Evan reluctantly leaped down.
Indeed, he had been discovered. It was a bit embarrassing.
“But…”
Evan focused on the Army Wolf leader, impressed by its sharp senses. This wolf was extraordinary.
“Perfect timing, I was looking for a good fight.”
Evan cracked his knuckles, his bones crackling as his body heated up from the previous battle, driving away the surrounding cold and making him feel comfortable.
The Army Wolf leader watched him coldly, and after a low growl, several wolves broke from the pack and charged at him.
“Testing me?”
Evan was surprised again. This Army Wolf leader was highly intelligent, even using tactics.
As the wolves pounced, Evan swung his fists with all his might.
Boom!
Evan’s blood surged with his punches, unleashing formidable power. Two wolves were sent flying, tumbling in the snow until they stopped among the pack.
His left leg swept aside another wolf before he stomped it into the snow, causing the snow to explode.
Howl!!!
The wolves were enraged, their already red eyes glowing with a bloody light.
But none of them immediately attacked Evan; they waited for the leader’s command. For them, obedience was ingrained.
After a moment of contemplation, the Army Wolf leader growled. All the wolves, except for it, charged at Evan, intent on tearing him apart.
“Still testing?”
Evan frowned. The leader should know that sheer numbers wouldn’t defeat him, yet it still commanded its pack to attack.
“Is it sacrificing them to exhaust me?”
Evan had a hypothesis, amazed by the leader’s cold-blooded cunning.
As the wolves neared, their claws and fangs ready, Evan closed his eyes.
A powerful aura burst from him, rippling outward, the overwhelming pressure stopping the falling snow in mid-air.
Silence.
Utter silence.
Evan smiled calmly, opening his eyes.
Snow continued to fall, covering everything in sight.
The wolves, poised to strike, froze in place, their claws and fangs inches from Evan.
Their ferocious, fearless faces showed an almost human-like fear.
A natural, ingrained fear.
Evan stepped forward, the wolves hesitated, then moved aside submissively.
In an odd scene, Evan walked through the wolves, who either retreated or dodged, seemingly afraid of provoking him.
Evan walked up to the Army Wolf leader, who was unlike the others. It showed no sign of submission, instead bristling with anger, ready to fight.
“I’m quite interested in you,” Evan remarked, intrigued. This wolf might be a worthy opponent.
“Howl!!!”
The Army Wolf leader growled, fearlessly meeting his gaze. Its strong body tensed, white fangs bared, and eyes filled with human-like intelligence, maintaining calm and rationality.
It was like a top predator, a born hunter.
“Resisting my Conqueror’s Haki?”
Evan found this increasingly interesting. This wolf was truly different.
In the cold wind and falling snow, Evan suddenly stepped forward, clenched his right hand, and aimed a punch at the wolf’s head.
The punch whistled through the air, but the wolf leader dodged. The punch landed in the snow, sending up a flurry.
The wolf leader’s sharp eyes flashed as its claws struck at Evan’s chest. Evan countered with a left hook.
Clang!
The wolf’s claws were sharper than steel, and Evan’s punch felt like striking metal. The collision produced a metallic clang.
Boom!
Evan followed up with a kick, hitting the wolf’s back, and sending it flying.
The massive wolf rolled in the snow, crashing into a snowbank, and sending snow flying.
In the next moment, the snow exploded as the wolf leader shot out like an arrow, ramming into Evan and sending him into another snowbank.
“Excellent!”
Evan leaped out, snow scattering, and engaged the wolf leader in a fierce battle.
Thud, thud, thud!
The snow-covered battleground was chaotic, snow flying in all directions.
Evan grew more astonished. Despite not having mastered Armament Haki, his perfected Diamond Body was incredibly strong, surpassing the CP9 members in their beast forms.
Yet here, he was evenly matched with an Army Wolf leader.
Slashing!
The wolf leader fought fiercely, trading blows. Evan’s already tattered clothes were further torn, his chest and limbs marked with blood.
The wolf also bore injuries, its silver fur stained red in places.
“Excellent.”
Fighting the wolf leader, Evan felt a warm current inside, countering the cold, his blood surging with exhilaration.
The wolf leader grew angrier, its killing intent and the surrounding cold intensifying.
“Take this!”
Evan stepped to the wolf’s side as it turned, channeling power from his legs through his body into his right elbow, delivering a crushing blow.
Ancient Martial Art: Perfect Force!
Boom!!!
The wolf leader howled in pain, was sent flying, crashed through several snowbanks, and was buried deep in the snow.
The snowbank was still, and the wolf leader’s fate was uncertain.
Evan scratched his head, wondering if he had hit too hard.
“What a great training partner. What a pity.”
Evan sighed, brushing off the snow and preparing to leave. Suddenly, he stopped, turned, and scanned the snow with Observation Haki.
The snowbank exploded as the wolf leader burst out, snow scattering, exuding a terrifying aura.
“Howl!!!”
A thunderous howl echoed through the Freezing Hell forest.
