One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 35
Night Emperor drew a long sword, but his Armament Haki dissipated, unable to cover the blade.
His body was in a decrepit state, making the use of Armament Haki extremely difficult.
“Get out of the way!” Crow gritted his teeth, his massive form digging fiercely into the ground to avoid the rapidly approaching sword slash from behind.
Seeing Night Emperor unable to fend off the attack and Snow still unconscious, the situation seemed dire!
Evan’s figure suddenly appeared on Crow’s back, extending a hand toward the incoming sword slash.
“ROOM: Barrier!”
A spherical space expanded, forming a barrier that blocked the white slash.
The sharp slash struck the impenetrable barrier, causing a ripple, but the barrier remained unbroken.
“Who are you?”
Shiryu of the Rain looked at the sudden appearance of Evan, who had blocked the attack, puzzled and halted.
“Evan! Wow! If you hadn’t come, we’d have been sliced to pieces by that guy!” Crow stopped his massive body, his eyes twinkling with relief, nearly cheering.
“Master, are you alright?”
Evan’s concerned gaze fell on Night Emperor.
Night Emperor shook his head and waved his left hand, throwing away his sword. “I’m old, really old. I can barely hold my sword.”
Evan caught the sword, his gaze growing colder as he looked at Shiryu, his expression serious.
He finally understood why Snow had to use that move.
Shiryu of the Rain, also known as the Rain Dragon, was a formidable swordsman and the Chief Guard of Impel Down.
His strength was nearly on par with Magellan’s, and they were known together as the “Iron Wall” of Impel Down!
“Why are you here? Did you defeat Magellan?!” Shiryu was shocked. He knew Magellan was fighting a prisoner in the fourth level, the scorching hell, so how was Evan now in the third level, the starvation hell?
Although he didn’t acknowledge Magellan as the strongest in Impel Down, in the prison environment, Magellan’s abilities were indeed unbeatable.
“Shiryu of the Rain, next time I get the chance, I’ll surely seek to learn your swordsmanship!”
Evan coldly glanced at him, scanning the room with his expanded ROOM, finding the passageway leading upward.
“Let’s go!”
Evan placed his hand on Crow, his spatial ability activating, silver light flashing as they teleported.
“What?!”
Shiryu watched as Evan and the others disappeared from the spot, filled with confusion.
In the next moment, Evan and Crow appeared at the entrance passage to the third level, using his ability to create stepping stones.
“Quick! Go up!”
Evan landed on Crow’s broad back, continually using his abilities, rapidly depleting his strength, and bringing him close to exhaustion.
The plant tattoo on his chest emitted a faint warm flow, life force surging through his drained body.
The severe wound on his left shoulder had completely clotted.
Crow, carrying three people, moved effortlessly, his legs furiously stomping on the spatial stepping stones. His immense strength shattered each step, propelling his huge armadillo body upward at high speed.
“You’re not leaving here!”
Not far below, Shiryu, wielding his sword, used Moonwalk to chase after them.
He swung his sword, the blade’s sharpness sending multiple white slashes tearing through the air toward Evan and the others.
Sitting on Crow’s back, Evan saw the slashes approaching and swung his sword to block them.
“Black Night: Four Nights!”
The black blade sliced through the air, forming a thick black slash that split into two, then four, sending four black crescent slashes downward.
Screech!!!
The piercing sound of air being torn, the black and white slashes collided, creating a shockwave that reverberated through the passage.
Shiryu’s upward movement halted momentarily, but he quickly increased his speed using Moonwalk, continuing his pursuit.
“Persistent!”
Evan kept swinging his sword, the black slashes striking the walls of the passage, cutting through them.
Crash!
The black slashes cut Large chunks of stone, falling to obstruct Shiryu’s path.
“What kind of cowardly trick is this?! Come down and fight if you have the guts!”
Shiryu, frustrated, slashed at the falling debris, slowing his ascent. He watched as Evan and the others got further away.
“We’re breaking out of prison, not challenging you, idiot.”
“And talking about cowardice with someone like you is laughable.”
Evan sneered with disdain.
In the original story, Shiryu was known for his opportunistic nature. He ruthlessly killed undeserving prisoners and later betrayed the Marines to join forces with Blackbeard, showing his complete lack of honor.
Evan swung his sword harder, continuously cutting the walls, causing more debris to fall.
“Damn it!” Shiryu roared from below.
Ahead, light began to appear, indicating they were nearing the second level!
“Keep going!”
Evan patted Crow’s back, even though the plant tattoo’s healing was helping, his constant use of abilities and swordsmanship left no room for rest.
But Crow, though constantly fleeing, still had the energy of a tiger, his steps powerful and unwavering, smashing through the spatial stepping stones.
Swoosh!
The view ahead widened, revealing the second level of hell!
Just one more level to reach the gates of Impel Down!
Crow didn’t pause, charging into the final passage.
“Shiryu, stop them!!!”
From far below, Magellan’s furious shout echoed, his anger reverberating through Impel Down.
“Even a compressed air bomb couldn’t stop him,” Evan sighed inwardly, but it had bought them enough time.
“Crow, hurry!”
Evan urged.
Crow bit his teeth, using all four limbs, sprinting on the spatial stepping stones upward.
“Disciple, the warden is getting closer!” Night Emperor suddenly warned.
“Hm?” Evan extended his Observation Haki downward, realizing Magellan had overtaken Shiryu, his body secreting purple venom, creating a pathway along the wall, moving at twice the speed!
“Not good!” Evan’s expression changed. If Magellan caught up, they’d be in trouble.
He swung his sword rapidly, black slashes cutting through the walls, sending debris falling.
Boom!
Magellan, covered in venom, crashed through the falling debris, unaffected in his pursuit.
Another mass of purple venom formed into a dragon, shooting upward.
Evan was about to use ROOM: Barrier to block it, but a scorching heat emerged beside him, a mass of black flames shooting downward.
The black flames incinerated the venom dragon, the high temperature vaporizing it completely.
“Hm?” Evan turned to see Snow had awakened from her coma.
“Snow, use Hellfire to buy us time!” Evan commanded.
Snow nodded, her hands emitting black flames, spreading them downward.
The black flames adhered to the walls and the air, burning and hindering Magellan’s advance.
“Good! Crow, keep going up!” Evan sighed in relief, the light above growing brighter.
Above them was the first level of hell!
The gates of Impel Down were within reach!
