One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 36
“Charge, charge, charge!”
At this point, even Crow was feeling a bit exhausted, but he dared not relax. His steps remained forceful, not slowing down.
The closer they got to the end, the more crucial it became!
Evan watched Magellan below. Magellan was gradually becoming more frantic, with venom wildly spewing from his body.
In the end, he ignored the black flames on the walls and charged through them at high speed.
Sizzling!
Large amounts of venom evaporated from the heat but continued to gush out of Magellan’s body. The black flames couldn’t harm his venom-covered inner body, and his actions increased his speed, closing the gap between Evan and his group.
“Damn prisoners!”
Magellan roared frantically, venom spraying and gliding, rushing upward like a terrifying monster.
“ROOM!”
Evan expanded his spherical space, generating a repulsive force downward, forcing Magellan’s speed to decrease significantly, and the gap between them began to close slowly.
Thud!
Crow stomped down, shattering another spatial stepping stone, and a bright light shone from above—they had finally exited the passageway!
They had reached the first level of hell, the outermost layer of Impel Down!
“Break through the gate!” Evan urged anxiously. If they could break through the gate, everything would be easier.
“But…”
Crow instinctively charged toward the gate but hesitated, his mouth slightly open.
Evan turned and saw that the gate of Impel Down was tightly shut!
The towering, majestic iron gate stood like an ancient beast, imposing and grand, with spikes protruding and its smooth metallic surface gleaming brightly.
Compared to the gates of the lower levels of the prison, this was a different league entirely!
“We’re done for!”
Crow was full of panic. The massive gate was impossible to move with sheer strength!
“Is this the end?!” Night Emperor frowned. If there was no other choice, he would have to exhaust his remaining strength to try and break through the gate.
“You won’t escape!” Magellan’s roar echoed from the passage below; he was very close to the first level.
“There’s no time!” Crow was panicked.
“Charge at the gate! Now!” Evan slapped Crow firmly.
“But the gate…”
“Trust me, just charge!”
Evan stared at the massive gate, his eyes beginning to glow with a golden light.
“Alright!” Crow gritted his teeth and charged toward the gate with all his might.
“A futile struggle!”
Magellan, covered in venom, charged from the passage behind, his cold eyes locked onto them.
“Don’t stop! Crash through it!” Evan said firmly, staring at the gate.
“If we die, we die!”
Crow saw the gate getting closer and closer, then simply closed his eyes and charged forward with the three of them.
“ROOM!”
A spherical space enveloped his right hand, continuously shrinking and solidifying.
Evan clenched his fist, channeling all his spatial power, surrounded by a brilliant white light that quickly condensed into a solid black mass.
His left fist was imbued with enough spatial power! It would have been a self-damaging move if not for his Armament Haki covering his skin.
As the gate grew closer—ten meters, five meters, three meters…
In the next moment, Crow was about to crash into the gate!
Evan leaped forward, his arm tensing like a drawn bow, muscles bulging, ready to unleash all his strength.
His eyes flashed golden, and his right fist slammed into the gate with all his might!
Boom!!!
The black-glossed fist shattered the space instantly, creating countless cracks. Spatial rifts like black lightning shot out, terrifying air currents crushing everything around them.
The gate of Impel Down shattered like a mirror, an explosive circular hole appearing in it.
Evan was thrown back by the recoil, and caught by Snow.
Evan strained to maintain the spatial barrier despite nearly exhausting his strength with that punch, shielding the three from the violent spatial rifts.
Crow charged through the circular hole in the gate.
“He actually broke through the gate of Impel Down?! What a joke!”
Magellan was horrified by the scene.
The prisoners were really going to escape?
Blown out by brute force!
Since when had the “iron fortress” of Impel Down become so weak?
If the prisoners escaped, how could he face the World Government?
“Stop right there!”
Magellan’s face twisted in rage, venom and floor fragments splintering under his feet as he launched himself like a cannonball through the hole in the gate.
“We’re out!”
Evan and his companions felt a rush of joy. Beyond the gate lay the vast, free world!
Despite the thick, dark fog surrounding Impel Down, preventing sunlight from reaching them, the fresh air outside was a stark contrast to the dark, enclosed prison!
They were truly outside!
After spending over five years trapped in the sunless depths of the underwater prison, Evan felt the crushing loneliness and oppression. Snow and Crow endured even longer, and Night Emperor had been imprisoned in eternal hell for forty years.
“We made it!”
Crow opened his eyes, almost disbelieving and ecstatic, nearly stopping in his tracks.
“We’re not safe yet!”
Evan tapped Crow’s head, building spatial stepping stones extending beyond the fog.
The waters around Impel Down were a windless zone, and anyone wanting to navigate in or out needed to open gates that created sea currents.
The surrounding waters teemed with giant sea kings, making escape by boat nearly impossible!
But for Evan, with his spatial abilities, it wasn’t an issue.
If they couldn’t go by sea, they’d go by air!
The sky, inaccessible to most, was his perfect escape route.
“Crow, move quickly!” Evan urged.
Crow nodded, stepping on the spatial stones and carrying the three of them away.
“Don’t you dare escape!!”
Venom burst from the hole in the gate as Magellan charged out, seeing Crow and the others airborne. He quickly used Moonwalk to give chase.
“Too late!”
Evan sneered, expanding his spherical space, generating repulsive force to impede Magellan’s pursuit.
“Not this again!”
Magellan gritted his teeth, unable to close the distance using Moonwalk alone, and could only watch as Crow carried Evan’s group further away, nearing the surrounding sea.
If they escaped into the vast sea, how could he track them?
“Crow, hang on a bit longer!” Evan held his breath; they were almost at the sea.
Escape success was just a short distance away!
One hundred meters! Fifty meters! Twenty meters! Ten meters…
Evan glanced back at Magellan, who was still far behind and unable to catch up!
“Success…” Evan’s face began to show joy.
In the next moment, an unexpected change occurred—a golden beam of light tore through the sky, slicing through the fog, and shot towards them at incredible speed!
“That’s…”
Evan’s pupils contracted sharply.
