One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 49
Deep into the night, the Marine Headquarters was brightly lit and bustling with activity. Countless Marine communication officers were gathering information related to the recent attack on the Holy Land of Mariejois.
After taking several deep breaths, Admiral Sengoku finally calmed down and began to review the collected data.
Soon, his desk was piled high with documents detailing the property damage, casualty lists, and information about the attackers.
As Sengoku skimmed through the documents, his shock grew. By the end, his face was pale, and sweat drenched his undershirt.
The preliminary statistics showed that over 1,200 slaves were liberated from Mariejois, around 300 Celestial Dragons were killed, and the financial loss exceeded 10 billion Berries.
Understanding the severity of the attack, Sengoku realized why the Five Elders were furious and had harshly reprimanded him.
Although he hadn’t seen the devastation firsthand, the dense statistics alone were enough to illustrate the catastrophic impact of the attack.
“This is unprecedented in history,” Sengoku muttered, feeling the weight of the situation.
“Freeing over a thousand slaves, killing more than 300 Celestial Dragons… This is a monumental event that will shock the world!”
“Devil Evan and adventurer Fisher Tiger… It’s those two.”
Sengoku’s face darkened as he clenched his fists. Fisher Tiger, a Fishman freeing slaves, made sense. But Evan, who had escaped from Impel Down less than two weeks ago, not only freed slaves but also caused havoc in the Holy Land, killing over 300 Celestial Dragons!
“No matter what, we cannot let those slaves escape easily, nor can we allow Evan and Fisher Tiger to roam free!”
With a stern expression, Sengoku quickly contacted various vice-admirals, issuing urgent orders, “Immediately reinforce and search the areas around the Red Line, dispatch warships to surround the Sabaody Archipelago and the nearby seas! Hunt down the slaves! Arrest Evan and Fisher Tiger! Don’t let any of them escape!”
After issuing the necessary orders, Sengoku stood by his office window, deeply troubled.
“‘Devil’ Evan…”
Staring at the dark, silent sea, regret washed over Sengoku like the waves below.
He genuinely regretted not executing the severely injured Evan when he was captured on Ohara Island instead of letting him escape from the hell of Impel Down.
“Was it really my mistake that created a true ‘devil’?”
Sengoku whispered, finally letting out a heavy sigh.

At Sabaody Archipelago, on the shore of Grove 75.
A small ship with a coated bubble was anchored quietly. Snow and Crow sat on the railing, staring at the distant Red Line, its outline barely visible in the night.
“It’s been so long, do you think something happened to Brother Evan?” Crow paced anxiously, “If anything happened to him, I’d storm that Holy Land myself…”
“Shut up!” Snow glared at him, her silver eyes cold, though her tightly clenched fists revealed her inner turmoil.
“But Brother Evan is so strong, those Marines can’t possibly harm him,” Crow said, forcing a smile.
“You’re finally making sense.”
A familiar voice echoed from behind.
“Whoa!” Crow stumbled, almost falling off the railing. Snow turned joyfully toward the voice, seeing Evan suddenly appear on the ship. His white robe was stained with blood, his face pale, sweat dripping from his forehead.
Instinctively, Crow moved to support him, but Snow was already there, extending a hand.
“I’m fine, just a bit exhausted,” Evan said weakly, his voice lacking strength, his face colorless. Snow, half-supporting him, felt her heart tighten.
Leaning against Snow’s soft shoulder, the warmth seemed to alleviate his pain and exhaustion slightly.
“That state shouldn’t be used carelessly,” Evan sighed, the awakened state of his spatial abilities draining his energy and vitality. Even brief use left him aching and needing several days to recover.
“Brother Evan, should we sail away now?” Crow asked.
“Take the ship to the shore near the Red Line,” Evan said weakly, sensing Tiger through a silver mark.
“Got it.” Crow began unfurling the sails.

At Grove 3 of Sabaody Archipelago.
Tiger led a group of freed slaves through the darkness, avoiding detection.
Out on the sea near the Red Line, lights flickered, likely from Marine search ships.
“Hurry up, the Marines are coming,” Tiger urged in a low voice, guiding the slaves.
He hadn’t expected the Marines to respond so quickly. At this rate, the island would be surrounded by dawn, leaving the slaves with no escape.
As a Fishman, Tiger could escape through the sea, but many of the slaves were from other races.
“I can’t abandon them. We need to find a ship!”
Tiger was anxious, but finding a ship wasn’t easy.
“There’s something ahead!”
A slave’s exclamation drew everyone’s attention.
In the dark woods ahead, faint blue flames appeared, approaching them.
“What is that?”
The slaves were terrified, and Tiger stood protectively in front of them, recognizing the approaching figure.
“Evan?”
Tiger was surprised to see the young man atop the ghostly white wolf, Snow, her silver flames illuminating the night.
“So soon, Tiger?” Evan smiled, resting on Snow’s back. The freed slaves recognized their savior, their faces lighting up with hope.
“The Marine search teams are closing in. Follow me, I have a ship ready.”
With a simple command, Evan patted Snow, who turned and began walking on air back toward the ship.
“Follow him, we’re saved,” Tiger urged, leading the slaves after Snow.

At dawn, a fleet of Marine warships arrived at Sabaody Archipelago, conducting a thorough search. Many pirate crews were caught in the sweep, but only a few slaves were found.
Meanwhile, newspapers worldwide reported the “Mariejois Attack.”
Someone dared to challenge the World Nobles!
This was an event for the history books, a once-in-a-century occurrence.
One of the main figures in this event—Fisher Tiger—was now worth 280 million Berries.
And the primary attacker who killed over 300 Celestial Dragons—“Devil Evan”—saw his bounty rise from 500 million to 1 billion Berries!
Still a rookie, Evan’s bounty was higher than many notorious pirates, shocking the world once again. After the “Impel Down Breakout” ten days ago, he was now firmly on the world stage, his actions more shocking than ever.
Evan, like a dazzling new star, shone as brightly as the sun, burning hot and bright.
