One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 53
Fish-Man Island is a paradise perpetually in spring. Sunlight gently filters through the depths, illuminating the streets with a serene glow. Coral and shells everywhere sparkle brilliantly.
Leaving Tiger’s residence, Evan squinted at the sky, appreciating the warm, gentle sunlight. The bubble enveloping the entire Fish-Man Island gave off a glass-like quality, reflecting a soft, colorful glow without any glare.
The entire Fish-Man Kingdom seemed like a snail, choosing to retreat into a protective bubble for comfort.
“Today’s weather is really nice,” Evan remarked with a smile, confusing Jinbe, who was standing by the door.
But indeed, the clear weather was a rarity in the past year.
“Lord Evan.”
Jinbe walked steadily forward, greeting Evan. Evan nodded in response, walking past him and heading down the street.
Jinbe remained motionless, smoke curling from his pipe.
When Evan’s figure had disappeared, Jinbe knocked on Tiger’s door and entered.
Back in the alley, Arlong leaned against a wall, his eyes narrowing menacingly as he saw Evan approach alone.
Evan continued walking, ignoring him, but Arlong stepped into the road, blocking his path.
“Do you enjoy blocking the way?” Evan asked softly, looking directly at Arlong.
Arlong, towering over Evan, looked down, feeling surprisingly intimidated by this seemingly ordinary human.
This annoyed him greatly.
“Human, I don’t know how you managed to deceive Brother Tiger into liking you. Do you really think you can save slaves and earn his gratitude? You humans are garbage. Don’t think you can act high and mighty in Fish-Man District,” Arlong hissed, cracking his knuckles threateningly.
“Seems like you have a death wish,” Evan shrugged, bemused by Arlong’s lack of logic and reliance on brute force, typical of a minor thug in any world.
“What did you say?” Arlong growled, preparing to attack.
“I suggest you look behind you.”
Evan pointed behind him.
“What the…”
Arlong turned, and a black fist connected with his fierce face, twisting his features, teeth, and blood flying as he crashed into the wall.
“Evan, are you alright?” A figure rushed over, excited.
“What are you doing here?” Evan asked, surprised.
It was Crow who had knocked Arlong away.
“Here to guard you,” Crow grinned.
“I’m not that weak,” Evan sighed, rubbing his nose. He was the strongest in their group.
“If you get hurt, Snow will peel my skin,” Crow said, clearly having been chased out by Snow.
“Thanks for the trouble,” Evan patted Crow’s shoulder, glancing at the struggling Arlong, “I’ll leave him to you.”
“Leave it to me,” Crow grinned fiercely at Arlong, eager to vent some frustrations.
Arlong looked at the small figure of Crow and felt a shiver down his spine.
“Take it easy, don’t go too hard. This is their turf,” Evan said, not interested in watching the beatdown.
Despite being the weakest in their group, Crow was a formidable Zoan Devil Fruit user with adept Armament Haki skills.
As Evan walked away, he could hear Arlong’s wails behind him.
The commercial area of Fish-Man District was bustling, and Evan strolled leisurely, taking in the unique ambiance of Fish-Man Island.
Among the various shops, a coffee shop caught his eye.
The exterior was colorful and exquisite, standing out among the other stores.
“Mermaid Café?”
Evan read the straightforward sign, feeling a sense of familiarity.
“Why does this seem familiar?” Evan wondered, recalling he hadn’t been out much recently and was likely remembering it from the original story.
Before attracting more attention, he pushed open the café door.
“Welcome to Mermaid Café.”
The voice was clear and pleasant, making Evan feel at ease.
A mermaid swam gracefully towards him.
Evan was immediately struck by her beauty. She had short black hair, cold blue eyes, and a pale, delicate complexion. Her blue mackerel shark tail was elegant, adding a wild charm to her beauty.
Pure and cold, beautiful and wild—a perfect combination that would even impress the picky Celestial Dragons.
Evan, despite having seen many mermaids, was still stunned.
Madam Shyarly, the mermaid, was also surprised to see a young, handsome human.
Evan, in a white robe, stood against the sunlight, looking neat and composed. This caused even Shyarly, who usually had little interest in humans, to reconsider.
“Do you have coffee?” Evan asked, after admiring her graceful figure, sitting down naturally.
“We offer Blue Mountain Coffee, Cat Coffee, Deep Sea Coffee, and our special Mermaid Coffee,” Shyarly introduced.
Evan was bewildered, regretting asking. He had never been a connoisseur of coffee.
“Uh, do you have alcohol?” he asked instinctively, immediately regretting it.
This is a coffee shop.
“We only serve coffee,” Shyarly replied, observing him, wondering if he was there to cause trouble.
“Alright, I’ll have the special Mermaid Coffee,” Evan said, embarrassed.
“One Mermaid Coffee, coming up,” Shyarly replied, swimming to the counter.
“Is it just you working here?”
Evan looked around the cozy café, noticing she seemed to be the only one serving.
“Yes, Mermaid Café just opened, so I’m the owner and server. My name is Shyarly,” she replied.
“Shyarly…” Evan murmured, recalling something familiar.
