One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 56
Uoh stood fearlessly before Fukaboshi, his attitude of disregard and arrogance appearing outrageously bold to the surrounding soldiers.
“How dare you be disrespectful to the prince!” Arlong jumped out again, spitting his rebuke.
“Insolent! Stand down!” The surrounding soldiers shouted, brandishing their weapons towards Uoh, ready to force him back.
“Oh? Can’t wait to make a move?” Uoh grinned, cracking his knuckles with a series of pops.
Snow also stepped forward, closing the door behind her. Her delicate white hands suddenly ignited with black flames, each wisp carrying an aura of death.
Though the black flames were confined to Snow’s hands, the three princes and the surrounding Fish-Man guards paled. As Fish-Men, they didn’t naturally fear fire, but the terrifying heat and oppression emanating from the black flames made them uneasy.
It felt like a natural suppression; the black flames made the Fish-Men extremely uncomfortable, their internal alarms blaring.
Even Uoh took a step back to avoid them. The memory of being burned by those black flames was still fresh, making him instinctively want to flee as soon as the black flames flared from Snow’s hands.
“Those who approach, die!” Snow said softly, her tone calm but resolute, full of threat.
This was her first sentence, and it instantly silenced the entire scene.
Tension filled the air, turning the atmosphere heavy and oppressive.
The royal guards and the three princes, numbering over thirty and including several fierce sea beasts, had the advantage in numbers.
Despite standing alone, Uoh and Snow remained unyielding, their long-honed resolve and determination undiminished.
Initially, neither side intended to make the first move, but now—
The royals, constrained by pride or duty, refused to back down. Snow and Uoh’s philosophy was straightforward: if anyone wanted to meet their boss, they had to get through them first.
Sensing the escalating tension, the surrounding residents quickly retreated to avoid getting caught in the conflict.
“Prince, capture them!” Arlong instigated further.
Just as a full-blown conflict seemed inevitable under the tense atmosphere—
“Stop at once!”
A powerful voice called out as Tiger swiftly approached from a distance.
“Uncle Tiger?” Fukaboshi hesitated, recognizing the approaching figure, his face filled with disbelief.
“Good to see you still remember me,” Tiger snorted. As he approached, the Fish-Man guards lowered their weapons, respectfully making way for him.
“They won’t attack, so put away your powers,” Tiger said to Snow, eyeing the eerie black flames warily.
Snow nodded, and the black flames vanished with a wave of her hands.
“When did you return, Uncle Tiger? Father doesn’t know yet,” Fukaboshi said excitedly.
“Yes, Uncle Tiger, it’s been so long. Are you well?” Ryuboshi and Manboshi added joyfully.
“It’s a long story,” Tiger sighed, gesturing for the Fish-Man guards and sea beasts to stand down, easing the tension.
This was the authority of a legendary leader of Fish-Man Street. Even after passing on the leadership to Jinbei, Tiger’s respect and influence remained strong and even more revered.
“Why are you here?” Tiger asked Fukaboshi.
“For certain reasons, Father wants to meet with Mr. Evan,” Fukaboshi explained directly, without hiding anything.
“Hmm? Summon Evan?” Tiger frowned, looking at Snow. “Where did he go?”
Snow opened her mouth slightly, about to speak, when her gaze shifted behind Tiger, and she fell silent.
“Hmm?”
Following Snow’s gaze, Tiger turned around.
“Do we have guests?”
A cheerful voice sounded from behind, drawing everyone’s attention to Evan, clad in his white robe, a smile playing on his lips.
“Evan, you’re back,” Uoh rushed over proudly. “I didn’t let us lose face just now.”
“Yeah, right. As long as you didn’t cause trouble,” Evan said, pushing Uoh aside, and looking at the distinguished Fish-Men.
“You must be Mr. Evan. I’m Fukaboshi, prince of the Fish-Man Kingdom. These are my brothers, Manboshi and Ryuboshi,” Fukaboshi introduced, maintaining his respectful demeanor.
Evan glanced at them, nodded, and asked, “I’m Evan. What do you want?”
“My father wishes to see you. He hopes you can come to the palace for a discussion,” Fukaboshi replied.
“The king?” Evan raised an eyebrow, puzzled by the connection.
“Please don’t refuse,” Fukaboshi said politely, his princely demeanor unwavering.
“Well…” Evan looked at Snow and Uoh, then at Tiger, and agreed, “Alright, I’ll go to the palace with you.”
“Evan,” Snow and Uoh called out worriedly. Evan waved them off, signaling them to relax. “Can we go now?” he asked.
“Yes,” Fukaboshi responded, instructing the guards to escort Evan onto the ship.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen the king. I’ll go too,” Tiger declared, not waiting for a response, joining the Fish-Man guards on the Phoenix Tail Ship.
“This…”
Fukaboshi hesitated but couldn’t stop him, following behind.
Once all the guards were back on the ship, the massive Phoenix Tail Ship slowly lifted off, heading towards Ryugu Palace.
Snow leaned quietly against the door, watching the ship disappear into the horizon before withdrawing her gaze.
From above, vibrant coral reefs, waving seaweed, uniquely shaped rocks, water bridges, and flower-like buildings spread out below. Various beautiful mermaids swam and danced among them…
The splendor of Fish-Man Island unfolded below, bathed in sunlight and water reflections, a scene straight out of a fairytale.
And further ahead, the scenery grew even more magnificent and grand.
Then, a colossal underwater structure resembling an ancient castle appeared, floating within the bubble membrane. Even the tip of its iceberg-like silhouette was enough to captivate the eye.
“That is the royal residence of the Fish-Man Kingdom—Ryugu Palace.”
As if responding to Evan’s thoughts, Tiger provided the answer.
