One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 6
“ROOM”
A glowing orb appeared from Evan’s palm. He felt it carefully before opening a large circular space.
“The ROOM release time is a bit long, around two seconds. Hmm, my stamina is constantly depleting.”
How could he speed up the release time and maintain the ROOM space for a long period with low consumption?
This way, he could perfectly use “ROOM” for battle assistance.
Evan pondered, a spark of inspiration flashing through his mind.
The intense stamina consumption was likely due to the large size of the space. If he could reduce it…
Evan decided to try, controlling his ability to shrink the ROOM.
The circular space slightly contracted, and to his surprise, the stamina consumption indeed reduced a bit.
However, further shrinking was challenging, as there was some indescribable resistance.
But this showed him the direction for improving ROOM. With continuous practice, he believed he could soon freely control its size.
Mastering spatial abilities and training in ancient martial arts.
A year from now, how strong would he be?
Always oppressed by the Buster Call, either comforting himself or escaping, he could finally face it slightly.
Evan suddenly smiled, feeling a wave of relaxation.
Unknowingly, his mindset had undergone a certain transformation.
East Residential Area, Robin’s House
Evan sat stiffly in a seat next to Robin, facing a couple who was eyeing him with curiosity. Although he knew they were only Robin’s maternal uncle and his wife, they had raised Robin since she was two years old, making them her closest relatives.
Regardless, coming to someone’s house for a meal still required some explanation.
“Um, I am Robin’s…” Evan awkwardly rubbed his nose.
“He is my lover,” Robin, who had been quietly eating, suddenly interrupted.
Cough!
Evan almost choked. Fortunately, his mouth was empty, or he would have made a huge scene.
“We have already decided to spend our lives together,” Robin continued calmly.
Her words were truly shocking!
Evan stumbled, nearly falling off his chair.
“Robin, this chicken leg is delicious, eat more,” Evan hastily scooped a chicken leg for her, trying to stuff her mouth.
If she continued speaking, Evan wasn’t sure what more surprising things she might say.
Seeing the couple’s stunned expressions, Evan braced himself to explain, “Actually, the truth is…”
“Ah, we understand, young people!” Robin’s uncle nodded vigorously.
“Yes, yes, who knew Robin had such a handsome boyfriend,” the aunt continued, scrutinizing him from head to toe.
This couple was a bit peculiar.
Evan was speechless.
Are people in this world so open-minded?
Evan glanced at Robin quietly eating and recalled that her relationship with her uncle’s family wasn’t great. They likely saw her more as a servant than family.
The couple continued to be hospitable, offering more food and drink.
Though Evan felt helpless, at least they didn’t seem to have any objections on the surface.
Watching Robin’s calm demeanor, Evan shot her a look that promised retribution later.
Evan’s stomach seemed like a bottomless pit to the couple’s amazement. Even though they had made extra food, it wasn’t enough.
“Having a good appetite is a blessing,” Robin’s uncle remarked, his eyes a bit strange.
“Next time, I’ll cook more,” the aunt agreed, nodding.
“That would be greatly appreciated.”
Knowing their relationship with Robin wasn’t that close,
Evan didn’t hold back and finished the meal, letting out a long breath. It was his first time eating a normal meal in the pirate world, and it felt good.
At that moment, he heard panicked footsteps and shouts from the street outside the window.
“Run, pirates are here!”
“Go home and lock your doors and windows!”
The couple’s faces changed as they hurriedly got up.
“What’s happening?” Evan asked, puzzled.
“Pirates have invaded. Stay quiet and hide. They won’t search house to house,” Robin’s uncle explained in a low voice.
“Aren’t the pirates afraid of being hunted by the Marines for such blatant invasions?” Evan asked curiously.
Although he didn’t have much faith in the Marines, they usually maintained order for the sake of appearance and management.
“Yes, but recently, more Marines have been withdrawing from Ohara Island, leaving fewer people to maintain order,” the aunt said worriedly.
Evan’s expression turned serious. It seemed the Marines had started receiving some information.
Well, things often began subtly.
“Have you seen a boy with black hair and black eyes recently…”
A rough voice outside the window, likely from the invading pirates, asked. The question puzzled Evan.
A boy with black hair and black eyes? Are they looking for me?
Evan’s eyes sparkled with understanding, piecing together the situation.
He stood up and walked towards the door.
“Evan, don’t go out! Hide!” The couple looked at him anxiously.
“I think the pirates are here for me,” Evan shrugged and opened the door, stepping outside.
“This…” The couple was at a loss.
Robin continued eating quietly but reassured them, “Don’t worry.”
“Evan is very strong.”
People were fleeing in panic on the street, but Evan walked towards the pirates, drawing attention.
“Kid, it’s dangerous over there!”
“Run for your life!”
Many passersby, out of kindness, urged him to escape.
Evan nodded to show he understood but kept walking towards the pirates.
As he neared the source of the screams, the street was deserted.
Only a pirate crew of about twenty men remained, all looking fierce and holding weapons, interrogating a few captured residents.
Seeing Evan approaching, the pirates were confused, wondering why a child was walking towards them when everyone else was fleeing in terror.
“Kid! Do you have any information for us?” A pirate pointed at Evan arrogantly.
“Look, am I not black-haired?” Evan asked.
The pirate looked at him and nodded.
“Now look, am I not black-eyed?” Evan pointed to his eyes.
The pirate, puzzled, nodded again.
“Then, am I not a boy?” Evan spread his hands.
“Of course, you are…” The pirate felt mocked but then paused, realizing something.
“Idiot! He’s the kid who got the Devil Fruit!” A pirate from the back smacked his head.
“Congratulations, you guessed right.”
Evan shrugged. These pirates seemed a bit dumb.
“Kid, you’ve angered us now.” The pirates released the residents, brimming with anger.
The residents, lying on the ground, worriedly watched Evan, fearing for the poor child’s life.
“Come on, show me your anger,” Evan taunted, waving them over.
The pirates exploded with rage.
“Brothers, charge!” The pirates rushed at him, weapons drawn.
“ROOM”
Evan extended his left hand, releasing ROOM to encompass the surrounding area.
Everything within the space became clear in his mind, nothing could escape his perception!
Evan teleported from his spot, appearing among the pirates, kicking a few and unleashing a barrage of punches.
In a brief moment, several pirates were sent flying, rolling far away on the ground.
Evan was like a tiger among sheep within the pirate group, dominating the scene.
The pirates were utterly outmatched.
If this had been before, dealing with them would have taken some effort. But with his spatial abilities, it was extremely easy.
Using spatial teleportation, not a single pirate could touch even his sleeve.
Effortlessly crushing them!
In the end, only Evan stood on the ground, clothes spotless, while the pirates lay around him, groaning.
The residents peeking from the street were stunned!
Who could have imagined that the seemingly eleven or twelve-year-old boy possessed such strength?
“You, leave here immediately!” Evan commanded the fallen pirates coldly.
“Y-yes…” The pirates didn’t dare stay, helping each other as they limped away.
Evan, in a good mood today, decided not to kill them, just breaking their limbs.
It served as a warning.
After the pirates fled, the street filled with people, cheering as they approached Evan.
But Evan, anticipating this, used “Silver Flash” to disappear.
Leaving behind a crowd of jubilant people.
“Silver Flash” transported him behind Robin, directly into her room.
Unlike most girls’ rooms, it was sparsely decorated with a wooden bed and a small desk by the window filled with books.
“Evan, you’re standing on my bed!” Robin used to his sudden appearances, complained as she lightly hit him.
“Oh, sorry…” Evan took off his shoes.
Robin looked at him, exasperated. Who allowed this rascal on her bed?
Evan smiled, pulling her soft, petite body into a hug and lying on the bed.
Robin had always been alone, very lonely, Evan thought.
Before they met, Robin quietly read alone, and endured her mother’s departure, her uncle’s coldness, and the villagers’ bullying, all with a warm and gentle heart. She must have felt very lonely and sad.
Evan’s heart ached.
“Evan, did you take care of everything?” Robin asked softly, her face red.
Sometimes, she liked to call him “Evan” in private.
“Yes,” Evan nodded, closing his eyes, and inhaling the faint floral scent of her hair.
“Evan, no mischief,” Robin whispered in his ear.
This little girl, what was she thinking?
Even if he wanted to do something, it would take ten years.
Evan patted her head, “Let’s sleep.”
“Okay.” Robin closed her eyes, burying her head in his warm embrace.
Soon, they both drifted into a sweet dream.
In the simple room, a faint sense of happiness filled the air.
The next day, on the rocky east coast of the island.
Evan, bare-chested, carried an even larger rock on his back.
Under the scorching sun, sweat poured down.
Step by step, he struggled, but his determination was unshakable!
Get stronger! Get stronger! Get stronger!
He shouted to the sky! Moving towards the future!
Evan vowed to change the original storyline!
