One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 62
Three thousand meters was still far from enough. If Evan could expand his ROOM even further, then…
Evan decided to act immediately. His eyes glowed with a golden light, and his entire body shimmered with a milky white radiance, resembling a deity. His hands seemed to press against invisible barriers on either side. After a brief buildup, he exerted force, his arm muscles bulging as his hands, initially bent, straightened, and pushed outward.
The dark patterns on his arms shimmered with brilliant colors, causing ripples in the surrounding space like water.
This maneuver consumed an immense amount of spatial energy.
The originally fixed circular space suddenly expanded outward rapidly—
Three thousand five hundred meters, four thousand meters, four thousand five hundred meters…
Five thousand meters, six thousand meters, seven thousand meters…
By the time he realized, the edge of the space had submerged into the seawater. The circular space grew so large it seemed boundless, but in the next moment, it burst like a pricked balloon, rapidly shrinking until it vanished.
Evan was drenched in cold sweat, his arms hanging limply as if drained of strength. The time from forcibly expanding ROOM to its collapse was just a brief moment.
The dark patterns on his arms receded like a tide, and the unique golden light in his eyes faded. He had exited his spatial awakening state.
But within that brief moment, he had scanned an enormous amount of information across almost the entire Fish-Man Island. The overload of data exploded in his mind, as if two small hammers were pounding on his temples, engulfing his consciousness with searing pain.
Sitting on Snow’s wolf form, Evan’s expression became dazed, his vision blurring and ears ringing. He closed his eyes, succumbing to the dizziness, and fell off Snow’s back. Snow, alarmed, quickly chased after the free-falling Evan.
Once Evan was back on Snow’s soft back, he slowly regained his senses.
“Leader, are you alright?” Snow asked worriedly, her long wolf eyes full of concern.
“I’m…fine.”
Evan patted his own head, trying to shake off the throbbing dizziness. The immense information flood had nearly burst his head.
Despite his pale face from exhaustion, he wore an enigmatic smile.
“I finally found them.”
Evan exhaled, having scanned a vast area in a short time. The fragmented images he received confirmed a general location.
He directed Snow to move towards a specific area, quickly leaving Fish-Man Street and delving into a rarely visited underwater forest. The sunlight was noticeably dimmer here, and steep underwater rocks and green algae covered the area, creating a desolate, silent, and deep-sea-like coldness.
Traveling further, the seaweed-like forest seemed endless. They were now on the outskirts of Fish-Man Island, close to the pitch-black deep-sea zone, where the oppressive atmosphere of the ten-thousand-meter deep sea loomed over them.
Snow moved silently, her black flames evaporating the surrounding moisture, leaving a trail of burning footprints.
“They’re hiding underground here, no wonder the Fish-Man soldiers couldn’t find a trace,” Evan said with a light laugh. Supporting himself on Snow’s smooth silver fur, he extended his right hand towards the area below.
“ROOM: Scan.”
The invisible space penetrated the ground, revealing hidden structures and their occupants. The sawtooth-nosed shark-man and a young great white shark-man—Arlong and Hody’s crew. But Evan frowned upon seeing them, puzzled as Queen Otohime was not there.
“Are they hiding her somewhere else?” Evan pondered, then smiled. “If the queen isn’t below, it’s simple. Snow, destroy this place and force them out.”
Snow nodded, her front paws igniting with black flames. She leaped forward, her wolf form like a meteor crashing down.
Boom!
The black flames on her paws exploded, instantly shattering the ground. The flames consciously spread through the cracks, destroying and burning downward. The high temperature and destructive power quickly obliterated the entire grassland, turning it into a shattered mess.
“Did I go too hard? They might have been crushed to death,” Evan muttered, pinching Snow’s ears. Her sensitive wolf ears twitched in protest, and she shook her head slightly.
Just when Evan thought the two fishmen were buried, two figures burst out of the rubble, scattering stones everywhere. They were Arlong and Hody, covered in dirt and with tattered clothes. They were clearly caught off guard and crushed by the falling rocks, narrowly escaping the black flames.
“Damn it! Who did this?” Arlong roared, his face twisted in anger.
Hody remained silent but equally furious, having nearly been buried alive.
“Hey, were you two hiding down there? What a coincidence, I was just passing by,” Evan said with a light smile, ignoring their angry faces. As soon as Arlong and Hody saw Evan, their expressions changed drastically. Without a word, they turned and fled.
These two usually ruthless and arrogant shark-men were now running away at the sight of Evan, much to his surprise.
“That’s no fun,” Evan said disappointedly. “At least throw some threats before running!”
Unbeknownst to him, Arlong and Hody knew Evan’s true identity. They were well aware that the Navy viewed the billion-berry bounty “Demon” as a major threat far beyond their capability to handle.
Arlong, usually impulsive and arrogant, now realized Evan was an untouchable iron wall. Hody, more cunning, understood Evan’s terror, having witnessed his Conqueror’s Haki in the palace.
They fled desperately towards the deep-sea zone.
Snow, leaving a trail of black flames, moved faster than them, closing the distance rapidly.
“You haven’t told me the queen’s whereabouts yet,” Evan shook his head. His figure flickered and disappeared from Snow’s back.
In the next moment, he appeared in front of Arlong, floating mid-air. He bent his right leg, pulling his knee back like a bow, then shot forward, delivering a swift, fluid kick like a slow-motion scene in a movie.
Arlong’s eyes widened in horror as Evan’s sudden appearance left him no time to react. He seemed to run into Evan’s rising foot, perfectly timed.
Bang!
Evan didn’t use his full strength, but enough to send Arlong flying like a cannonball. He flew in a straight arc, crashing through countless seaweed trees before coming to a halt.
