One Piece Space Fruit - Chapter 9
“You must know, kid, that making me angry will have severe consequences.”
Nivia, the black cat, smiled wickedly, stretching lazily with her shapely body.
“I’m going to cut the flesh from your body, piece by piece!”
She launched “Soru” (Shave), pouncing like a bullet, her terrifying speed turning her body into a blur, reaching in an instant.
So fast! Her speed is at least three times what it was before!
Evan’s heart tightened as he barely caught Nivia’s movements with his eyes.
Seeing her claws slashing at him, Evan instinctively raised his long sword.
Screech!!!
Her cat claws scratched against the blade, producing a sharp, piercing sound with sparks flying.
At the same time, Taigu’s massive bear form appeared beside Evan, and his bear paw struck down with tremendous force!
Boom!
Evan pushed Nivia’s claws away, rolling on the ground as Taigu’s paw hit where he had been, shattering the ground into a giant crater.
Nivia and Taigu kicked the air simultaneously, creating crossed Rankyaku (Tempest Kick) air blades that locked Evan’s escape route.
The Rankyaku air blades were much stronger and faster than before!
No way to dodge!
Evan raised his long sword, which began to emit a faint milky white glow. He condensed it into a thin light blade at the tip using his spatial cutting ability.
“Dimensional Slash!”
Evan slashed down at the crossed air blades, breaking them in half!
Though his hands trembled from the impact, he had indeed cut through the air blades.
The four pieces of the air blades sliced past Evan, without hindrance, breaking down part of the villa.
Crash!
That part of the building collapsed into rubble, revealing the dark forest and the cold starlight in the sky.
Evan maintained his sword-slashing stance, his eyes filled with battle intent. Encountering strong opponents excited him.
“To cut through two Rankyaku…”
Taigu remained silent, knowing well how difficult it was to block that move, let alone break it head-on.
“That light blade is dangerous. Be careful not to get hit,” Nivia warned.
“It’s my turn to attack.”
Evan swung his sword, sending a Dimensional Slash towards Taigu.
“Soru!” Taigu stomped, creating a burst of air as he jumped into the air to dodge the Dimensional Slash.
Evan switched hands, condensing the cutting ability of his other sword and firing a crescent moon blade at the airborne Taigu.
Seeing the Dimensional Slash approaching, Taigu stepped in the air, creating another burst of air, changing his direction and charging at Evan in a zigzag pattern.
“Geppo (Moonwalk)? What a powerful technique,” Evan’s eyes lit up.
In less than a second, Taigu stepped more than ten times in the air, using it to gain momentum—this was Moonwalk.
Evan knew his speed and physical strength were comparable to CP9 members, but he couldn’t perform Moonwalk.
Taigu closed in with continuous Moonwalk steps, his bear paws striking down forcefully.
“Finger Gun—Bear Strike!”
“Ancient Martial Art—Inch Collapse!”
Evan clenched his fists, channeling power from his feet through his muscles, focusing it into his fists and punching out!
Boom!
Their fists collided with terrifying power, the ground beneath Evan cracked, and his feet sank into the collapsing earth.
“Get off!” Evan gritted his teeth, exerting force, the layered dark power of Inch Collapse sending a continuous wave of force.
Taigu was startled, feeling the internal impact, uncontrollably retreating.
“Finger Gun—Steel Splitter!”
A shadow rushed in, cat claws striking Evan’s chest, shredding his clothes and spilling blood.
Nivia, having succeeded in her first strike, didn’t retreat, aiming for a second strike!
Ignoring the pain in his chest, Evan quickly grabbed her cat paw with his left hand.
“Get up!”
Evan lifted Nivia’s body and slammed her down in her panicked state!
Boom!
Nivia’s body shattered the ground, and Evan used the recoil to pull his legs out of the ground.
Seeing Nivia trying to escape, Evan’s eyes gleamed coldly as he lifted his left foot to stomp on her head!
“Bear Impact!”
At that moment, Taigu used Soru to move beside Evan, his bear paws striking his back with a terrifying impact that passed through his body, making him cough up blood.
Unable to complete his stomp, Evan staggered, releasing Nivia’s paw.
Nivia jumped up, kicking Evan’s rigid body away.
Evan crashed into the rubble, his fate unknown.
Nivia touched her chest in fear, thankful that Taigu’s timely attack saved her from being crushed.
Looking at Taigu, she saw him panting heavily, maintaining a fighting stance.
“Taigu, you…” Nivia began, but Taigu coughed up blood, alarming her.
“I’m fine, just the side effect of Bear Impact, along with some internal injuries. That kid’s attacks are powerful!” Taigu shook his head, reflecting, “Thankfully, I mastered Bear Impact recently. Though it requires a lot of energy, it succeeded.”
Bear Impact, a powerful shockwave technique that combined parts of the marine’s Six Powers with his strong bear body, could almost ignore human defenses.
“Is he dead?” Nivia looked at the rubble covering Evan.
“It’s not that simple. Even with his constitution, he should be severely injured by my Bear Impact,” Taigu said calmly.
As if responding to his words, the rubble moved, and Evan stood up again.
His upper clothes were in tatters, barely hanging on, revealing his bronzed, muscular body. Despite the three bloody scars on his chest and a deep red bear paw mark on his back, his eyes remained bright, and he had a faint smile on his lips, showing no fear or weakness.
“I’ve gauged your strength,” Evan smiled.
So far, he had only used “Dimensional Slash” without other spatial abilities, testing his martial arts and combat skills.
He needed to understand his combat level to face stronger opponents ahead.
After this battle, he estimated his physical strength to be at the level of a top-ranking officer, but his martial arts skills were slightly inferior to CP9 members proficient in the Six Powers.
To counter powerful techniques like Rankyaku, he had to use Dimensional Slash.
As for powerful auxiliary techniques like Moonwalk and Soru, he was impressed.
No wonder the marine’s basic martial arts, practiced by those with the potential, had such power when mastered.
Evan had to admit that defeating two CP9 members with just martial arts was almost impossible.
But if he used his ace spatial abilities…
Evan suddenly smiled, knowing his greatest growth in the past year was his abilities.
“From now on, I won’t hold back.”
“That should be our line. Letting you mess around this long, we’ll be demoted if this gets back to the government,” Nivia said, extending her red tongue. She kicked out a Rankyaku air blade, but not at Evan.
The air blade cut through the air, hitting the villa’s lights, shattering them and plunging the area into darkness.
In the ruins, Evan couldn’t see his hand in front of his face, only the starry sky and Nivia’s green cat eyes.
Nivia’s voice sounded smug, “Can you still dodge or block our attacks without light?”
“So what?” Evan replied indifferently.
“Heh, you don’t know, do you? You’re fighting beasts!”
“Die painfully in the dark!”
As Nivia’s voice faded, the sound of her footsteps and Moonwalk filled the air, closing in on Evan from all sides.
The sounds surrounded him, making it difficult to determine their attack direction without sight.
“Self-ROOM”
Evan extended his left hand, using his spatial ability to create a glowing sphere that quickly expanded.
Soon, a circular space with a twenty-meter radius centered on him, covering the ruins and the approaching Nivia and Taigu.
In Evan’s mind, a three-dimensional image formed, showing Nivia and Taigu attacking from both sides. Their movements, steps, and ferocious expressions were clear.
This was “Self-ROOM”!
The improved “ROOM,” changing the size while enhancing control and perception of everything within the space.
It was like his personal domain!
