One Piece Swordsman's Heart - Chapter 7
Vir felt groggy and weak all over. Struggling to lift his head, he tried to sit up but was met with intense soreness throughout his body. Glancing out the window, he realized it was late at night.
“Damn, Roy really went all out. Partners are unreliable; allies are much better,” Vir muttered to himself while lying in bed, scratching his head.
As he tried to get up to drink some water, he suddenly felt a strange numbness and then an odd sensation coursing through his body.
Startled, Vir frantically checked his body but found nothing unusual. Yet, the bizarre feeling persisted.
Is this some kind of energy? Could it be a weird parasite?
With no other options, Vir sat on the bed, trying to focus on understanding this strange sensation.
Calming himself, he sensed that it was indeed a form of energy. Wherever it moved, it left a tingling feeling and a slight pain. It was barely noticeable when it passed through his limbs, but when it traversed his vital organs, the pain became excruciating.
“What is this? Could someone have sabotaged me? A Devil Fruit ability? That doesn’t seem right,” Vir pondered, trying to figure out the source of this mysterious energy.
He had to understand it quickly; otherwise, he might suffer organ failure from the strain. Vir was already finding it hard to breathe.
Just as despair began to set in, the energy moved to his left arm. Vir willed it to stop, and to his surprise, it did.
Before he could celebrate, his left arm transitioned from a slight pain to a severe one, almost becoming numb.
Weaken, weaken now, he commanded. Miraculously, the energy weakened, eventually becoming almost imperceptible.
Covered in cold sweat, Vir felt as though he had narrowly escaped death. His first life-threatening encounter in the world of One Piece wasn’t with the weather, pirates, or the Navy, but an unknown energy. Dying like this would have been a colossal waste.
His previous life had been dull enough. Losing his parents as a teenager had taught him that without effort, one loses everything. He spent his days studying and working, eventually achieving success through a combination of networking, genuine knowledge, and a lot of luck.
Having finally arrived in his dream world, he couldn’t accept dying so easily.
Feeling the strange energy in his left arm, Vir attempted to control it. Before long, he succeeded.
He directed it towards his palm. Even if he couldn’t eliminate it entirely, he needed to understand what it was. He couldn’t leave an unknown energy lingering in his body.
Soon, his palm emitted a faint blue light, accompanied by a slight sizzling sound.
“Is this… electricity? My body has electricity in it, and I can control it. Did my previous self eat the Goro Goro no Mi?” Vir thought, overjoyed. But then he quickly realized he was wrong.
When he first woke up on the beach, he had deliberately tested with seawater, experiencing no adverse reactions, proving he hadn’t eaten any Devil Fruit.
Moreover, his body didn’t exhibit any elemental transformation traits. Aside from the electric shock that nearly knocked him out, there were no other effects.
He hadn’t heard of anyone who ate the Goro Goro no Mi electrocuting themselves. If that were possible, few would dare eat Logia Fruits. Imagine being burned by the Mera Mera no Mi or frozen by the Hie Hie no Mi. The most pitiful would be Smoker, dying of carbon monoxide poisoning.
After some research, Vir deduced that this electric energy had no fixed form. It was light blue on the outside and deeper blue towards the center, with a silver-blue core.
The maximum intensity wasn’t enough to be fatal, and the minimum was almost negligible.
Vir abandoned the idea of expelling this energy. He felt it could be crucial in his journey from an ordinary person to a powerful one.
But how did this energy come about? Staring at the blue light in his palm, Vir pondered. Was it a racial trait? Mink Tribe? Unlikely, given his age and lack of fur anywhere but his head.
It must have been the lightning vortex during the soul transition on Earth. His soul must have evolved or mutated, giving him this ability. Otherwise, how could his soul have survived such a harsh environment?
Understanding the source of this energy reassured Vir.
How should he develop this ability? Should he follow the Goro Goro no Mi route?
No, the electric intensity was too weak. It might work on ordinary people, but not on stronger opponents.
Experiments showed the energy could only cover his body or directly contact objects. Creating external attacks was unlikely.
He could only develop techniques that enhanced his body. Although the electric intensity was low, it had other properties: sharpness, speed, and excellent cutting ability.
For now, he decided to place the energy at the center of his body and chest. This shortened the path to any part of his body.
Carefully controlling the electricity throughout his body, Vir turned light blue. He checked the mirror and saw his hair hadn’t spiked up like a hedgehog.
His body didn’t reject the electricity. Looking at himself in the mirror, Vir remembered two characters from Naruto: the Third and Fourth Raikage.
Using electricity to stimulate cells and enhance their activity seemed viable. Despite the differences in human physicality between the One Piece and Naruto worlds, using naturally generated electricity should yield better results.
Determined, he sat cross-legged on the bed, reducing the electric intensity to observe bodily changes.
After a while, he felt that yesterday’s training fatigue had decreased, and his body felt more energized.
At dawn, Vir opened his eyes.
“As expected, developing a technique to use electricity to stimulate cells isn’t that simple.”
Although he hadn’t achieved the expected results—enhanced body strength, power, and speed—he still saw benefits. The previous day’s fatigue had vanished, his body felt lighter, and the electricity no longer caused pain.
Most importantly, this new state was upgradable.
Currently, the electric intensity used was the weakest possible. Increasing the intensity would yield better results, but his body couldn’t handle it yet. He needed to adapt to higher intensities, which required time gradually. At nine years old, Vir had plenty of time.
Moreover, this state could be maintained continuously. He named this technique the “Micro Electric Stimulation for Cellular Activity,” or “Lightning Stimulus Technique” for short.
Using electricity consumes physical energy, with two consumption types:
1. Internal electricity flow, consuming minimal energy. Physical recovery kept up.
2. Simultaneous internal and external flow, consuming significant energy, sustainable for two to eight hours depending on intensity.
Developing the “Lightning Stimulus Technique” pleased Vir. It could recover fatigue, allowing more intense training and faster growth.
Vir had no ambitions of becoming Pirate King, ruling the world, or overthrowing the World Government. But becoming stronger, traveling, and fighting the strong people he had only seen on screens thrilled him. Perhaps Vir didn’t realize he had a warrior’s heart.
Placing his hand on his chest, he felt the electric energy inside. He named this energy core the “Core of Thunder,” or “Thunder Core.”
Looking outside, he saw the daylight brightening.
