One Piece's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 16
You eagerly started a ranked game and pulled out your signature Malphite, only to find your opponent swiftly locking in Vayne as the top laner.
You thought to yourself, “Since I got countered before level 6, I should just focus on gaining experience until then.”
However, Vayne on the other side was relentlessly aggressive, with the jungle immediately flashing in for a gank without hesitation, using “Condemn” to pin you against the wall and easily shredding through your pitiful armor.
From being the cunning Murphy to becoming the clueless one, you were showered with criticism by your teammates, feeling utterly frustrated.
Who could withstand such pressure?
Certainly not Polpo, who got smashed to pieces by the incoming gank from Sett, oh no, it was Jon.
Jon: “You’re playing ‘solo,’ I’m playing ‘team.'”
Does reasoning matter when faced with underhanded tactics? Let’s go all out together!
Avdol was responsible for breaking through defenses, Polnareff for engaging in prolonged combat, and Jon for picking up kills.
Clear division of labor, perfect coordination~ Polpo’s defeat was not strange at all.
Jon’s timing was impeccable, denying Polpo any chance of a comeback.
Turning around, he and Polnareff, along with Avdol, teamed up against “Black Sabbath,” quickly subduing this long-range sentient Stand.
“OK, job done.”
With the dust settled, Polnareff stowed away “Silver Chariot,” patting his perfectly styled hair somewhat narcissistically.
Before encountering Jon, he always thought that solo fighting was the epitome of manliness.
However, after experiencing the joy of “team fights” and opening the door to a new world, he became infatuated with the feeling of “justice in numbers.”
Avdol was a pragmatist.
Seeing the enemy incapacitated, he looked to Jon, “What’s next?”
“Wait.”
Jon raised a finger.
“Diavolo is an extremely cautious guy who is unwilling to reveal his true identity, so even this guy….”
He pointed to the corpse of Polpo.
“Probably doesn’t know where Diavolo is.”
At his words, Avdol frowned.
The enemy they were facing this time was completely different from Dio Brando. If Dio Brando continued to hide, they would indeed be at a loss.
“Or.”
Jon suddenly spoke up.
Polnareff and Avdol perked up.
“We could call my dad for help. Although his ‘Purple Haze’ doesn’t have much combat power, he’s good at finding people.”
Joseph’s stand, “Purple Haze,” had the ability to explore terrain and see distant people.
Simply put, it wasn’t great for fighting but excelled in reconnaissance.
(Old man, your stand is the most useful!)
“Mr. Joseph? Hmm, that’s a good idea.”
Avdol pondered and found Jon’s suggestion feasible.
Polnareff slapped his thigh.
“That settles it then! Avdol, you go contact Mr. Joseph. Jon and I will stay here and wait. With both of us acting, we’ll definitely flush out Diavolo!”
Naples, at a certain renovation company, in the manager’s office.
“Whew~”
Diavolo clutched his chest, breathing heavily and slowly.
Suffocating.
It was too suffocating.
He had a feeling that something bad was about to happen.
Ding dong!
Suddenly, the phone on the desk rang.
Diavolo hesitated for a moment but decided to answer.
“Boss, we have a problem.”
The voice on the other end of the line made Diavolo’s heart skip a beat.
He asked in a deep voice, “What’s wrong? Did the police refuse to cooperate with us?”
The gang was currently in a phase of expansion, quickly gaining a foothold in Naples thanks to the strength of Stand users they gathered.
Naturally, Diavolo aimed for greater heights.
“No, it’s Polpo!”
The voice on the other end of the phone sounded extremely anxious.
Upon hearing this, Diavolo’s expression became incredibly solemn. Although he didn’t have any trusted confidants in the true sense, Polpo was definitely one of his most reliable subordinates. And now Polpo was in trouble?
Diavolo quickly inquired, “What exactly happened?”
“Boss, we don’t know the specifics either. We’ve completely lost contact with Polpo. The only thing we can confirm is that three outsiders have entered the factory.”
Three outsiders?
Diavolo’s face darkened as if it could drip water. If they could take down Polpo, those three individuals were likely not ordinary people; there was a high probability they were Stand Users.
He made a decision instantly.
After hanging up the phone, Diavolo dialed another number.
“Hello, Risotto?”
“Hello, Risotto?”
The Boss’s voice was as deep as ever.
Risotto Nero gestured with his eyes for the others in the room not to speak and calmly replied, “Boss, it’s me. What’s the matter?”
“Risotto, I need you and your team to check out Polpo’s territory. Something has happened there.”
Diavolo’s voice didn’t reveal any emotions.
Risotto instinctively felt that the Boss was angry.
After a moment of contemplation, he asked, “What do you need me to do?”
“Investigate the three outsiders. It’s best to capture them alive, but if you can’t, killing them is also acceptable. In any case, there must be evidence of their presence, dead or alive.”
With that said, Diavolo hung up the phone without hesitation.
Risotto remained silent for a few seconds before casually placing the receiver back.
Ghiaccio, who was sitting on the leather sofa, smiled and spoke up, “Captain, was that the Boss just now?”
“Yeah.”
Risotto nodded, scanning the three people in the room.
Ghiaccio, Iluso, and Prosciutto.
This was the “Hitman Team” he led, usually responsible for eliminating traitors within the “Passione”. Of course, they would also handle emergency cases that ordinary members couldn’t handle.
“Wow, that’s the Boss for real! I mean, seriously, the Boss is too mysterious, isn’t he? I’ve been in the organization for over half a year, and I haven’t even seen what he looks like.”
Ghiaccio was the youngest and the most free-spirited.
As soon as he finished speaking, Iluso and Prosciutto chimed in unison, “Neither have I.”
No one had seen the Boss’s true face, not even knowing whether the Boss was a man or a woman.
Risotto didn’t want to waste too much time on this issue. With a serious expression, he said, “Enough nonsense, we have work to do.”
“Huh?”
Ghiaccio’s face fell.
Iluso and Prosciutto, on the other hand, stood up promptly, retrieving their car keys and suit jackets from the coat rack.
Seeing this, Risotto’s eyes flashed with satisfaction.
Prosciutto’s “The Grateful Dead” had the ability to accelerate aging within its range.
Iluso’s “Man in the Mirror” was the go-to for trapping enemies.
Even Ghiaccio, who seemed unreliable, had “White Album,” which could lower temperature drastically.
With his own ability to manipulate metal products using “Metallica,” Risotto was very confident that no matter who the enemy was, they would not be able to match them!
Note: In the original JoJo timeline, Risotto Nero joined “Passione” in 1992.
