One Piece's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 8
When Magellan and his men arrived at the pier, they found that the ship Jon and the others were on had already sailed away from the shore.
Magellan’s temples throbbed, his face alternating between shades of blue and white.
Anger, regret, and worry.
All these emotions mixed together, causing the Head Warden of Impel Down to erupt into a thunderous roar.
“Jon Joestar!”
“Ah-choo!”
On the deck, Jon suddenly sneezed.
Rubbing his nose, a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes.
“Who’s talking behind my back about how handsome I am?”
Three days later.
“Finally, we’ve left the Calm Belt.”
Shaking off the water droplets on his body, Jinbe, who had just jumped back onto the deck from the sea, spoke to everyone, “Next, we’ll rely on the sails for navigation.”
Jon handed a cup of warm water at just the right moment.
“Jinbe, my friend, well done.”
Jinbe grinned and accepted the kind gesture.
They were all brothers, being too formal would feel awkward.
At that moment, Ivankov wiped away tears and said, “Jon boy, Ace boy, it seems we’re about to part ways soon. Oh, I’m still a bit reluctant.”
Since they had left the Calm Belt, it meant they would soon find a suitable island to dock at.
Although he “Okama King” and Jon’s group were in a cooperative relationship, they couldn’t stay on the ship indefinitely.
With that said, Jinbe also mentioned something.
“After we dock, I’ll also be leaving. There are some things I need to take care of.”
Ace glanced at Jon.
“What about you?”
“The same?”
Jon interrupted before Ace could finish.
“Yeah, I need to hurry back to the Moby Dick.”
Ace scratched his temple.
After a pause, his eyes lit up, “Why don’t you come back with me? I guarantee that Pops and Marco will like you. After all, you’re my savior!”
At these words, Jon fell into deep thought.
Escaping from Impel Down had significantly increased his Legendary Level, almost reaching level 3.
Once he reached level 3, Jon would be able to establish a “Interdimensional Gate” to return to his original world and continue his life as the young master of the Joestar family.
So, the question arose, where should he establish the “Interdimensional Gate”?
If he decided not to return to this world, any place would do.
The main issue was that Jon didn’t want to give up the opportunity to become stronger.
“Rokushiki,” “Color of Arms Haki,” and the soon-to-be-acquired “Color of Observation Haki.”
Which reward wasn’t enticing?
They were all extremely enticing!
In that case, the location of the “Interdimensional Gate” required careful consideration.
To be honest, the main ship of the Whitebeard Pirates was indeed a good choice.
“Okay.”
After careful consideration, Jon decided to accompany Ace back to the Moby Dick.
Apart from establishing the “Interdimensional Gate,” he also wanted to see the “Strongest Man In The World” with his own eyes.
“Ha-ha, that’s great!”
Ace was overjoyed.
With a companion, the journey wouldn’t be too lonely.
Moreover, Jon was powerful, and traveling with him was much safer than being alone.
After leaving the Calm Belt, they found a small island suitable for docking after just one day of sailing.
Jinbe and Ivankov waved goodbye.
Before parting, Jinbe specifically instructed Jon that if he ever encountered trouble he couldn’t handle, he could come to Fish-Man Island to find him.
Jon nodded with a smile.
The group of four became a group of two.
For a moment, Jon felt a bit awkward.
But soon, he pushed aside those fleeting thoughts and wholeheartedly enjoyed the cultural atmosphere of this different world.
“Fresh fish! Only three hundred berries!”
“Good knives, essential for everyone.”
“Freshly baked cheesecake, fragrant and fluffy!”
“Does anyone need a newspaper?”
“Rocky Town,” a vibrant port city.
Entering the town, Jon immediately noticed the Jolly Roger on both sides of the streets.
Ace proudly remarked, “Don’t worry, there won’t be any Marines chasing after us here. Because this is Whitebeard’s territory!”
It was well known that aside from “Red-Haired” Shanks, the other Emperors loved to fight for territory.
As one of the veteran “Four Emperors,” the Whitebeard Pirates’ influence was definitely among the top tier!
“Alright, stop looking around. Let’s go find the mayor first, and then we’ll have a good meal.”
Ace hooked Jon’s shoulder. “These past few days, we’ve been eating stored rations and Sea King meat on the ship. It’s made my mouth taste bland.”
Were you too embarrassed to say that?
Jon smirked.
If it weren’t for Jinbe, they probably wouldn’t have anything to eat until they left the Calm Belt.
Locating the mayor’s house wasn’t difficult.
With little effort, Jon and Ace found the old mayor wearing thick glasses.
Seeing the two, the old mayor fell straight off his rocking chair.
“You! You guys!”
“Sir, calm down. I’m Portgas D. Ace, the Commander of Second Division of the Whitebeard Pirates.”
Ace helped the old mayor up, then pointed to Jon. “And this one here is my good friend.”
Before he could finish, the old mayor shouted.
“Rogue!Jon Joestar!”
Huh?
Rogue?
What kind of unlucky nickname is that?
The Joestar family has been known for generations as gentlemen; we couldn’t let ourselves be associated with this stain!
Jon showed a friendly smile. “Sir, have you perhaps misunderstood something?”
“There’s no mistake!”
The old mayor nervously swallowed his spit.
“I saw you on the newspaper yesterday!”
Jon and Ace exchanged a glance.
Seizing the opportunity, the old mayor ran into the house and brought out yesterday’s newspaper and the Marine’s wanted poster.
Jon took the wanted poster.
Front and center was his sharp-faced handsome visage.
Ace clicked his tongue as he took the newspaper, reading it out loud word for word.
“Rogue Jon Joestar, four days ago infiltrated the Great Prison, Impel Down, released numerous prisoners, killed the Warden Shiryu, and outsmarted the Chief Warden of Impel Down, Magellan. The crimes are unforgivable, hence this bounty. Those who bring in Jon Joestar to Marineford, dead or alive, will receive a reward of one billion berries.”
One billion!
Well, well, my life was quite valuable, huh?
Jon pinched his brow.
Although he had anticipated being wanted by the Marines sooner or later, he hadn’t expected this day to come so quickly.
“One billion! Impressive, impressive. My bounty is only five hundred million. As a newcomer, you must have broken the bounty record.”
Now that they were acquainted, Ace’s attitude became more casual.
What else could Jon say? He shook his head expressionlessly.
“Too low.”
Good buddy, it was your first bounty, and you were not satisfied with one billion?
Truly worthy of my approval, this magnanimity was unmatched!
Excitedly, Ace said, “In that case, Pops will definitely value you more. Why not just join the Whitebeard Pirates directly? Together, we’ll make Whitebeard’s name echo throughout the world!”
Join the Whitebeard Pirates?
No thanks.
Just thinking about Whitebeard smiling and reaching out to him made Jon’s stomach ache slightly.
He wasn’t Lu Bu; he didn’t have the habit of acknowledging a father.
