- Chapter 85 - The Girl Searching for Her Father and the Delinquent Boys
Suddenly, Diavolo felt a chill run down his spine!
He shivered and suspiciously scanned his surroundings.
The room remained unchanged.
Diavolo frowned.
Who’s talking behind my back?
Just then, the phone on the table rang.
Diavolo hesitated for a moment, a sense of foreboding rising within him.
Despite his anxiety, he had to maintain his composure.
He answered the call.
The old voice of Passione’s special advisor, Bellickro, came through, “Boss, something has happened.”
Diavolo’s eyelid twitched slightly, and he responded in a deep voice, “Take your time, my old friend. You can explain slowly.”
Bellickro, obedient as ever, took over ten seconds to gather his thoughts before slowly relaying the news he had just received, “Boss, your elite guard is gone.”
Diavolo: ???
Sensing Diavolo’s unease, Bellickro lowered his voice and continued, “This morning, the bodies of Squalo and the others were delivered to the Naples police station. You know we have people in the station…”
What? My entire elite guard?
Gone in one night?
Diavolo couldn’t believe it at first.
Then, it felt like a volcano was about to erupt in his chest.
Ten years of planning, a thousand days of patience.
Finally, he had built such an empire!
And now, some unknown group had come and destroyed it in less than a week.
Diavolo felt like a fool!
“Boss?” Bellickro’s voice was cautious, “Are you okay?”
“Haha…”
Diavolo’s voice was hoarse as he forced a laugh.
After a few seconds of silence, Bellickro asked, “What should we do now?”
“That’s not your concern,” Diavolo’s mental fortitude was strong, and he forced himself to regain his usual cold demeanor, “I will have professionals handle this.”
On the other end of the phone, Bellickro couldn’t help but smile bitterly.
What professionals?
The assassination squad had collectively defected.
The elite guard was completely wiped out.
Who was left to rely on in the organization?
But he couldn’t say that to the boss.
At least not right now.
Bellickro respectfully said, “In that case, Boss, I will go handle the aftermath at the police station…”
As he spoke, he seemed to remember something and casually mentioned, “By the way, it seems someone has been asking about you lately.”
Hearing this, the second face on Diavolo’s forehead contorted with a ferocious expression, making his aura extremely dangerous!
“Wait, Bellickro, tell me more.”
On Bucarati Island.
“I’m sorry, I haven’t seen this person.”
The restaurant owner shook his head, advising, “Speaking of which, you should avoid wandering around the streets lately. The gang fights are getting worse, and even our small island isn’t safe. For a girl alone like you, it’s very dangerous.”
Trish Una waved off the concern, “It’s fine, but thank you.”
With that, she clutched the photo and skipped out of the restaurant.
The restaurant owner sighed helplessly.
An inexperienced girl, unaware of the dangers of the world.
Sigh~
Outside, Trish looked at the sky.
It was almost noon.
“Time for lunch,” she murmured.
However, she didn’t think about turning back to the restaurant.
Because she was broke.
After her mother passed away, the family had very little money left.
After paying for her tuition, there was almost nothing left.
Instead of spending money at a restaurant, she thought it better to buy some cheap whole wheat bread from a bakery, enough to last her until evening.
As she was thinking, two people approached her.
One looked to be about her age.
The other had a hairstyle rarely seen in Italy.
They were chatting as they walked.
“Jojo, it’s rare for us to go out and have fun together. Staying at the villa all day is suffocating me.”
“Please call me Giorno Giovanna, Higashikata-san.”
“Jon calls you Jojo, and you don’t seem to mind.”
“…That’s because I can’t beat him.”
“Just so you know, your ‘Gold Experience’ can’t beat my ‘Crazy Diamond’ either.”
“…”
Trish thought, since they were there, she might as well ask.
She approached them, “Excuse me, have you seen this person?”
With that, Trish showed them the photo.
Josuke and Giorno were taken aback.
They looked closely at the photo.
Their expressions turned strange.
Trish blinked, “Excuse me…”
Before she could finish, Josuke and Giorno started discussing amongst themselves.
“Jojo, isn’t this guy Diavolo?”
“It looks very similar to the photo Mr. Joestar (Joseph) showed us. This must be Diavolo when he was younger… And stop calling me Jojo!”
“Okay, Jojo.”
“…”
Trish was confused by their conversation.
Diavolo?
Who’s that?
And what’s Jojo?
Josuke and Giorno turned to Trish, “What’s your relationship with the person in this photo?”
“Please answer truthfully.”
Trish involuntarily took a few steps back, “What do you want?”
She looked around and, trying to stay calm, said coldly, “I warn you, if you try anything weird in broad daylight, I will call for help!”
Josuke and Giorno exchanged glances.
(????)(—?—?)
Finally, Giorno cleared his throat, “What’s your name?”
Trish crossed her arms tightly, “Trish Una.”
Trish Una?
Never heard of her.
But it was clear this girl was related to Diavolo and couldn’t be let go easily.
Josuke summoned his Stand, “Crazy Diamond.”
Trish’s eyes widened.
This… What is this!?
Seeing Trish’s reaction, Giorno’s expression changed dramatically, “Be careful! She’s a Stand user!”
“Nani!” Josuke’s eyes sharpened.
Terrified, Trish took several steps back, trying to stay calm, “What are you going to do to me, you weird-haired guy!”
The atmosphere grew tense.
Giorno pinched his forehead in frustration.
Oh no, this is bad.
“Insulting my hairstyle? Even if you were the king of the world, I wouldn’t let you get away with that.” Josuke’s face darkened, “But since you’re a girl, if you apologize now, I’ll let it slide.”
At thirteen, Trish’s rebellious teenage spirit flared up. She retorted, “What if I don’t apologize? Are you going to hit me?”
She didn’t notice that with her rising emotions, a faint pink “aura” was beginning to form behind her…
Giorno quickly summoned “Gold Experience” to stand between them, “Alright, calm down, both of you.”
Unexpectedly, a voice suddenly sounded from behind Trish.
“Two little kids arguing here, huh? Be careful, or I’ll beat you so badly your mothers won’t recognize you!”
