One Punch Man King Engine - Chapter 129
In a secret research institute on the outskirts of Z City…
A young man with dark green hair, wearing a suit and glasses, stared at King’s full-body photo on the computer screen. He held the edge of the table tightly with his hands, his eyes burning.
“King, I am thankful that you insist on making your own life difficult. I didn’t expect you to come to Z City, but this is my territory, so I would have to entertain you properly. Of course, I will absorb every last bit of your blood’s genes and use it to further our evolution experiment.”
That’s right, this man was the crazy scientist that previously Monsters to assassinate King and obtain blood sample – Dr. Genus.
“Ha-ha.” Dr. Genus cackled in excitement at the thought that he might obtain the blood of the strongest man in the world. He hastily asked his clone assistant. “No. 28, has Mosquito Girl begun to move?”
“If all goes according to plan, Mosquito Girl must have summoned a swarm of mosquitoes to invade Z City by now. Sir, do you think the mosquito swarm can successfully absorb King’s blood? How do we analyze and extract King’s genes from Mosquito Girl’s blood storage?”
A man with the exact same appearance as the doctor stood in the shadow, wearing a striped prison uniform with the number “28” on his chest.
Dr. Genus took a deep breath and sat down again. He propped up his chin and smiled confidently, “I have my own ways.”
…
“What?”
The swarm of attacking mosquitoes had been wiped out!!
Mosquito Girl’s pupils shrank. She looked at the person below in shock. The black smoke dissipated, revealing the person’s true form. The mosquito’s heat-sensing ability told her that the round hole in this guy’s palm was still emitting an extremely high heat signature.
“I will destroy you.” Genos’ tone remained calm, but his words carried a hint of bloodlust. “Just stay here and don’t move.”
As he spoke, immense heat began to gather in the right hand he aimed at Mosquito Girl.
“Destroy me? Hehe.” Mosquito Girl returned to her senses and looked down at the small human on the ground. She pointed at Genos and shouted, “Then come. I want to see who has the last laugh.”
“Burn!”
Boom!
Another fireball streaked into the sky.
“Too slow! This kind of slow ball could never reach my shadow!” Mosquito Girl sneered at the incoming fire. The six gossamer wings behind her fluttered, displaying her arrogant confidence as she evaded the fireballs within a hair’s breadth. “Speed is strength, idiot!”
“Speed, is it?” Genos narrowed his eyes. An engine behind his shoulder blades immediately activated, ejecting two brilliant blue plasma jets. He crouched slightly and jumped off the ground with a boom, creating a small crater. His body shot towards Mosquito Girl like a cannonball.
“Machine Gun Blows!”
His mechanical fist rained at Mosquito Girl like a machine gun, leaving behind afterimages.
“Hmm? Interesting.” Mosquito Girl giggled and raised her two hook-shaped arms to block Genos’ attack. “Fall!”
Her right hand slammed Genos on the head.
Whoosh!
Genos was caught off guard and quickly fell down. Blue plasma blazed as the engines in his shoulder activated to compensate, spinning him like helicopter blades as he landed on the ground.
Screech!
The inertia caused his feet to slide across the asphalt. He ignored it and stabilized his body, aiming his right palm up at Mosquito Girl in the air. He said coldly, “Burn!”
Boom!
Pillars of fire reminiscent of dancing dragons streaked across the sky.
“Hehe, I told you, your slow cannon is useless against me! You… Try to remember!”
Mosquito Girl grinned sarcastically. Her wings fluttered, propelling her body gracefully in the air like a butterfly dancing among the fiery pillars as she fiercely charged down towards Genos.
Rip!
Genos’ mechanical left arms were instantly torn away as if made of thin fabric by Mosquito Girl.
“Heh —I’ll tear off your legs next.” Genos’ left arm was caught in the seemingly-decorative horn on Mosquito Girl’s head.
However, just as she finished her arrogant boast, her body inexplicably lost balance. She looked at her body with disbelief, discovering that her lower legs were torn apart. She seemed to not feel the pain because of her super-high-speed movement.
“Eh? Where is my leg?”
Pa!
Genos’ only remaining right hand casually dropped two enlarged mosquito limbs, his cold eyes glaring at Mosquito Girl up in the sky.
“Huh?”
She followed her sense of danger and immediately rose up.
“It’s useless.” Genos raised his right arm and fired his Incineration Cannon at Mosquito Girl, his cold face contrasting the blazing flames. “You can’t escape from my palm.”
Mosquito Girl flapped her wings and dodged the Incineration Cannon, her eyes filled with astonishment at Genos’ reckless fighting. “What the hell is wrong with this guy? If this goes on, he will be killed sooner or later!”
No, I haven’t finished the task that the doctor gave me; I can’t fall here!
Her graceful figure circled in the air, searching for the citizens. When she found none, she turned to the mountain forest outside the city and smiled. “Although the people on the street have been hiding, the animals in the forest are different.”
Buzz!
In the forest, the mosquito swarm consumed every creature they touched like locusts, littering the forest ground with dried animal corpses.
“Come, children, won’t you pour the juice you have gathered into my body?”
She smiled, spreading her arms, exposing her curvaceous body full of intoxicating charm.
Buzz!
With her order, the mosquitoes in the forest around Z City surged towards her like sharks smelling blood. In an instant, the black flood gathered from all directions, larger than ever.
The swarm around Mosquito Girl swirled like a massive dark tornado, creating a horrifying sight.
Genos looked at the terrifying mosquito swarm, and his eyes narrowed. “So many mosquitoes…the mosquito swarm collected blood from the entire city…no, even beyond, with the blood of the animals. That probably means blood is not just food for her.”
With such a large amount of blood, it must be used for something other than food, likely related to her combat ability. Can she use the blood to evolve her battle prowess? If so, it would be troublesome when she finished her evolution.
He frowned. “Looks like I have to eliminate her as soon as possible.”
He immediately focused energy on the Incineration Cannon in his right arm.
“Stop right there!”
An exasperated voice suddenly came from behind him, along with the sound of slippers stepping on the ground. He had no choice but to cancel the large-scale Incineration Cannon that he had prepared.
Buzz!
What followed was the faint sound of a mosquito flying.
“Dammit, our battle isn’t over yet, don’t run away, you bastard!”
