One Punch Man King Engine - Chapter 134
“Hello, Chain’n’toad? Gun Gun?”
King greeted Silver Fang and the others before extending his hand to Chain’n’toad and Gun Gun. The three scars on his face made his expression intimidating.
“Ah? Hello.” Chain’n’toad shook King’s hand in surprise.
Gun Gun wiped his hand a few times while King was shaking hand with Chain’n’toad before himself reaching out to shake King’s hand.
King looked at the two nervous people and laughed, “Don’t be nervous; I don’t eat people.”
He took a glance at Chain’n’toad with interest. Chain’n’toad was wearing a loose white training suit with a frog-shaped headpiece. He was holding a kusarigama, a weapon made by attaching a chain and weight to the handle of a sickle. It was a difficult weapon to handle and master, so it was no surprise that the Association evaluated him as a powerful Hero.
Gun Gun beside him was dressed as a stereotypical American cowboy, with a wide hat, horse boots, yellow bandana around his neck, and two revolvers hanging on his waist. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a pitch-black denim shirt with “GG” written on it.
“Ha —”
Chain’n’toad and Gun Gun laughed dryly. Tension and excitement filled their face. A gathering of this many S-Class Heroes must mean that this is a large operation. Are they going to bust a super evil organization? Destroy a Dragon-class Monster? Just thinking about it made their blood rush.
Heroes should do great things, dammit. Enough with all these small errands like helping grandmas cross the road and finding a lost cat!
“Have the people from the Million Heights arrived yet?”
Million Heights was the name of the real estate company that brought Jasmine the bulk of her wealth. The assets of Million Heights were several zeroes more than the competing Thousand Stars—after all, one is Million, and the other is just a Thousand. There’s bound to be some gap.
(T/N: it’s another one of those number/letter wordplay that doesn’t really translate to English.)
Let’s talk about Jasmine’s background.
Jasmine was an incredibly talented real estate developer. She owned countless properties in more than twenty cities in the world; it was even rumored that more than half of the land in Z City belonged to her company, to the point that some people jokingly call her the Half-mayor. One could only imagine how many assets she has.
In addition, she was also a great philanthropist. She established the Butterfly Fund, the name implying that people can live as happy and beautiful as butterflies. Not only did she actively sponsor Heroes Association’s operations, but she also provided financial and food relief in areas where Monster disasters had struck. She was a parental figure for countless disaster victims, earning her the nickname Butterfly Mother.
“King-sshi, to be quite honest, people don’t have much hope for our task force. After all, our Association is downright amateur compared to the police in terms of tracking criminals. But those fat and ugly higher-ups came to us first. Tsk, what a pain in the ass.”
Puri Puri Prisoner was very dissatisfied with the decision from the Heroes Association higher-ups. It was clearly a job for the police, but they just had to get the Heroes involved. Ugh, he would rather spend the time and effort chasing handsome bounty criminals to play with.
Chain’n’toad and Gun Gun were confused at the mention of police. Would the police participate in Monster subjugation? Well, this would probably be an operation to bust an evil organization, then. The involvement of the police would make sense if that’s the case.
“Oh, I see. By the way, why didn’t Flashy Flash come?” King chatted with each other.
“Flashy Flash? I think Sitch said that Flashy Flash was having his period, so he couldn’t come,” Superalloy Darkshine replied thoughtfully.
“Huh? Flashy Flash, a man, having a period?”
What a bombastic news!
“Don’t listen to Superalloy Darkshine’s nonsense. I was also there when Sitch said that Flashy Flash had something to do every month, which he then compared to a girl’s period.”
“Where did Flashy Flash go?”
“I don’t know. It seems to be training!”
“It fits his character.”
King and the others chatted for a while, but he quickly got bored and called out to Bang, “Waiting is too boring. Why don’t we play a little game to kill time? For example, rock-paper-scissors.”
“Rock-paper-scissors?”
Bang’s expression shifted. He had a flashback of that sunset-colored scene of King’s domination.
“Wait, uncle King, let’s play Sudoku instead. Sudoku is a fun game that can help us develop lateral thinking. It is good for our body and mind, on top of being a fun game.”
Before Bang could speak, Child Emperor quickly raised his lollipop to express his opinion.
“Sudoku? Stop messing around. Everyone, let’s watch me show my muscles!”
Superalloy Darkshine tried to recover his position as the living sculpture, striking a pose that showcased the perfect muscles on his back.
“Do you want to play games? I think it’ll be more interesting if everyone plays together.” Puri Puri Prisoner looked at King with bright eyes, “King, I heard that you played a game of guessing dice at Silver Fang’s Dojo. Would you play a few rounds with me? I’ll keep you company until the end.”
Guessing dice?
King’s mouth twitched. Wasn’t it a ferocious game where the players lose their clothes no matter what happens? Hey, hey, Puri Puri Prisoner, what are you planning? Hurry up and move your disgusting eyes away!
Bang’s body bent forward a little further, and he said with his hands behind his back. “I would prefer to play Go.”
Child Emperor shook his head fiercely, “What’s the point of playing a slow game like Go? How is it interesting?”
“My muscles are the most interesting.” Superalloy Darkshine changed his posture again, bending his body backward to emphasize his eight-pack.
“We must embrace the blessing that is strip dice guessing.” Puri Puri prisoner insisted.
“Go!”
“Sudoku!”
“Show your muscles!”
“Guessing dice!”
Bang and the others immediately argued, glaring at each other.
In the midst of the arguments, someone suddenly shouted, “Let’s fight!”
“Okay!”
“Who gonna fight me?”
“Don’t bully me because I’m young.”
“My old bones are just about to stir.”
Bloodlust filled the room.
Superalloy Darkshine glared at Bang, “Silver Fang, I have long wanted to experience the wonders of your martial arts. Why don’t we spar to pass the time?”
Bang twisted his shoulder, his joints cracking. “No problem, this old man is just worried that I have no opponent to spar with!”
“Uncle Puri Puri Prisoner, I just upgraded my mechanical hand recently. Can you help me test its performance?” Child Emperor asked, biting his lollipop.
“Go away, don’t interfere with my fun.” Puri Puri Prisoner waved his hand, dismissing Child Emperor. His fiery eyes stabbed straight at King. “I want to ‘play’ with King… Ah, I mean, fight.”
Hold on, you accidentally let your real intention slip!
King felt a chill down his spine. A damn pervert is targeting me. Should I call Saitama to kill him? Well, Saitama was too far away, but I decided that if this damn pervert pounced on me, I would immediately use the max-level Card and blow him into pieces.
Chain’n’toad and Gun Gun were greatly shocked when they saw the S-class Heroes in front of them bickering like a bunch of kids. The image in their mind of the S-class Heroes as stalwart guardians of humanity was completely shattered.
They turned to look at King, who was calm and collected, befitting of his title as the strongest man in the world. He was neither arrogant nor impatient, neither fast nor slow. Even if the sky falls in front of him, he will not flinch.
